  1. Thanks for the feed back folks.

Dave, in my youth I did a lot / most work on my cars but this is not some thing that I want to play with considering it is dual zone and also separate control for the rear.

I did check and no major savings in getting it done State side as the main part alone is $1100 US, so the price I got here is very much in line, oh well I tried, so now I have to decide if I will get it fixed or not, though not sure I have a choice :dunno:.

  2. High folks, so last year I bought a 2010 Toyota Highlander I love the truck but the passenger side started to blow only cold air. So I took it to my mechanic and he really honestly told me to take it to Toyota, so I did and the news that they gave me is that I am looking at a $2,025 + Tax to RE and Re Dash and Replace Heater Box and Servo.

Ouch, does this sound right price wise?

Any suggestions for where to take for a more reasonable price, was thinking of looking at Buffalo but not checked out prices as of yet, waiting to hear some feed back.

Thank you in advance, FLEX - John

  3. Hi Folks,

I have a great friend that wants to go ice fishing so Perch is the logical choice.

Now, my dilemma is, do we go to Simcoe or Erie?

I have never fished on Erie but it is a much longer drive for us as he is in Bolton and I am in Woodbridge, but the drive does not bother me if I can put him on some fish.

Size is "almost" secondary, to action as I do not want to turn him off of fishing.

What would be your suggestion for location, as in lake not looking for GPS coordinates, and which outfitter?

We do not need tackle all that I need is a good outfitter to get us to the spot, hut and some bait, and even the bait is optional as I can always bring some.

Almost forgot, looking at going out on Saturday January 25th.

Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  4. Mike, like always your trips and your reports make me almost feel like I was on the trip with you! Sounds like you had a fantastic trip with your daughter and that is some thing that you and your daughter will never forget.

It really makes me wounder, how you always manage to find these special places you are 411 and travel Ontario all roled into one, but my main problem is that you have just added a new place on my must do trip list!

So now, how do I find the time and talk the wife into letting my son and I go that is the question?

Please advise on your secret of how you manage that. :)

  5. Have not posted for along time as lousy health has kept me away from most things.

To the point that I have now been off of work since last year this time, surgeries, pain management clinic and now the latest high shock treatment and even level 4 laser.

Any way I have a chance to get away for 2 weeks to New Orleans and I under stand that Lake Pontchartrain is just a few minutes away from where I will be staying any and all suggestions on what to bring so that I can do a bit of shore fishing.

Please, all suggestions are welcomed and appreciated as I am leaving on January 26, day after tomorrow. This happened this afternoon, :D

    Thank you all,

  6. When I saw this post I told my son about it and he was just about running for our tackle, as we had a fantastic time at Eddie's in July, 3-10.

With tear in my eyes I have to say that if the situation was different I would be all over this, this really is a fantastic offer by Eddie, just one more example of what kind of great guy he is and that is why we will be going back next summer.

I have not posted our trip report yet just to much going on but it will be up soon, it was just what we expected x 10, Eddie, you have set the bar quite high. :thumbsup_anim:

If you are sitting on the fence about going do not think twice, I can not belive that only 2 have taken Eddie up on this unbeliveble offer by Eddie. :thumbsup_anim:

Eddie, I will send the pics up to you soon,

the trip was amazing Julian and I cant wait.

  7. Great report Garry,

On a recent trip, I tied one of the plastic ones on for the first time, and all that I can say is that we did three drifts and I hooked and landed 3 pike in the 30" + range.

After the 3rd fish my son just looked at me and asked if I had more in our tackle box, he found one that was the same and 2 more drifts = 4 more fish :D , my only regret was that I did not try one earlier in the week.

What do you recommend for food to bring.. I was thinking a case of Mr. Noddles, and other pasta--- any tips?

Hi, just got back on Sunday from my first fly in and as far as food goes, we brought up with us, me almost

50 and my 15 year old son who eats anything that is not nail down, 3 packs of bacon about 10 slices each,

2 packs of sausage 6 per pack and 2 packs of steaks 6 per pack.We also had a bag of potatoes.

We also brought up a foot long salami, a chunk of ptarmigan cheese and 3 loafs of bread and 36 eggs and a

    bottle of Nutela.

That held us over and we did eat a lot of fish.
