  1. Thanks. I roll the dice at duty free in Detroit and get a pretty good stock. I did notice online that they now carry Forty Creek which they didn't last year. I will definitely check Belleville since I usually have to make two or three trips to Home Depot in Belleville.
  2. I have an LCBO question ( it is a likker thread). Does the selection in stores vary by locality. The reason that I ask, is that the ones in Napanee and Deseronto seem to have a very limited selection. I generally drink blend (Canadian) Crown Black for neat and medium line with mixers. Up there, I usually get Wiser's Deluxe because my dearly departed Mother in Law worked at Corby's in Belleville for years. Would the selection be better in Belleville or Kingston?
  3. Yeah, this is not very good. 😎 Christmas present from my son.
  4. I know it is a totally different world, but down here on the Gulf you would troll artificial lures for Mahi Mahi at 6-12 knots.
  5. A bit different, but this is the flats boat. Don't have any pics of the old tin boats at the cottage.
  6. The word on the street is that it was electrical in nature, probably a space heater and or overload on the shore power station. The docks were old and pressure treated pine. Once it got started it was over
  7. Get a new regulator first. That also happened on my weber and I forgot to put that in my original post. the reset worked fine and then a couple of years later it did the same thing that you experienced. A new regulator from Harbor Freight fixed it for 10 bucks.
  8. It is some type of nanny safety feature that restricts flow. From what I have read, it happens if the burner controls get opened with the bottle turned off and then it thinks it has a leak. The procedure resets the regulator. Go figure.
  9. Have you tried this? The regulators may be different than in the states, but I don't think so. I have had to do this a few times on my Weber. Reset the regulator by turning off the burners on your gas grill. Turn off the propane tank and disconnect the hose from the tank. With your gas grill lid open, turn the burner knobs to high for about two minutes, and then turn them off again. Reconnect the hose to your propane tank and slowly turn on the gas. Follow your grill's lighting instructions. If this doesn't increase the flame size, you may have a faulty regulator that needs replacing.
  10. Fired up the smoker today for some 12 hour brisket.
  11. About 80 miles by car and about 55 by boat.. Our place is 18 miles from the Florida line across Perdido Pass.
  12. We have a couple of rental condos down here and had our 15 year Wisconsin snowbirds over for real Gulf Coast cooking.
  13. Thank you, but I am the one that needs to learn. Should anyone ever need some Gulf of Mexico fishing info, I might be of a little help.
  14. As an explanation for the rather strange thread topic, in 1985, I married a lovely young lady from Belleville. The family always had a cottage in Napanee, and now that time has progressed and we are now in our retirement years, we have bought the cottage and will be spending most of the summer there. It has been many years since I have fished fresh water, but not a novice to fishing as we live on Mobile Bay with an inshore bay boat and a near shore center console. That being said, over the years on short vacations to the cottage I have done a small amount of fishing on Hay Bay, but not a lot. With the cottage we have an old 14 Starcraft tiller with a 25 Johnny rude and an 18 ft Starcraft Holiday with a 70 Johnny rude. Now if we can just get a decent water level this coming summer, I will be here to keep my mouth shut and learn. Cheers and Roll Tide
