  4. Thanks for sharing... I would be a bit worried being in the water with such active fish that jumps when hooked. Especially with X-calber hooks. But other than that sure I'd go fishing for them. But on land or in a boat. Looking forward to your other adventures !!! I download "All in One codecs" for windows media player its free also. Works great with avi files. linkAll In One Codec Pack dsn
  5. Good One !! dsn
  6. I spoken to one old guy who tried fishing for pike at the Spit few winters back. He said the fishing was great and that the pike where huge. He was icefishing in one of the many bays. But I warned him... if he goes through hes done!! Cause no one would know hes there and no way to get help. dsn
  7. Time to CASH In those HBC Rewards Points !! Or they'll be wasted.. DSN
  8. I've been clean when I had the car. No parking tickets, no accidents, nothin, not even speeding since the car couldn't even go past 100km/hr . All I had was hyundia pony if anyone remembers those cars. It was just something to get around then. Until it rusted through and the leaf frame gave way and the car went lop-sided. And the left side of the car frame was touching the back wheel. Junk yard it went. $30 bucks. Ok looks like The fingers are pointing to RBC. Thanks for all the replies. DSN
  9. I was just wondering what's the rates like for a High Risk Driver. Like Me Been insured before but after the car rusted away never needed another automobile. Since I haven't been insured for sometime now... just wondering roughly what the rates would be now. Long ago for newbies it s $3000 for 1 yr . Any reasonable companies out there or are they all greedy as dogs? Thanks dsn
  10. It never amazes me. Someone always bites the dust every year. We humans.... slow to learn and quick to judge. Year after year... same old , same old.
  11. Yeah it brutal out there. Hey lets see the pups when you get your camera back. What kinda dog do you have? I always wanted a dog. But someone around here says no. dsn
  12. Nice fish CCMT. I now what you mean about the cold. I don't know how all steel headers stay in that cold weather. I tried it once ...I froze. Nice pic by the way. DSN
  13. Or you can try Angling Specialties thats where I got mine. Kennedy Steeles area. But I'm not sure if their store is still available as heard from MJL they might be closing and the only place left would be their Vaughan Store, dsn
  14. Thanks for the advice Raf. I got that trick in my bag too. The manual focus on this camera is weird and slow to respond. So I had to go to Auto. Macro Setting. dsn
  15. yeah gotta love Macro Shoots. Make us slow down and stop to smell the frogs "in this case." dsn
  16. Will if the water freezes it's going to be tough. The fish will move to deeper water. It nice to be in the Kawarthas to be able to chase other species for sure until hardwater season. dsn
  17. $10 bucks and you can have mine. Only used it once. Can't stand it. Made by E.S.P Used it once and all the corn ended up in my face. Least it was sweet. I get better results using a spod instead. dsn
  18. I knew this cold weather would sooner or later turn the carp off from feeding. I started off 8am. It's was -5 degrees out with a North West wind. And that didn't help much either. I looked into the water couldn't see anything moving. All was still. Even things that appear to look like logs, were still as can be. Tossed some corn on top of the grey logs. And waited as the corn slowly sank into the ice cold water. The logs started moving slowly and I knew if was carp. Hugging the bottom together trying to stay warm. Then they moved off the spot I had chummed. 1 hr goes by...nothing. 2hrs go by and still not a cloud of dust. 3 hrs and the clouds slowly depart and the sun, slowly inches out of the clouds. 4hrs later I see a little movement. 5hrs later and the sun was shining bright and the carp started moving back into the chummed area and started slowly feeding bit by bit. 1/2hr later I got a small feeding frenzy going. 4-5 fish feeding on canned can. And a few hand full of boillies that were soaked in red wine over 2 days!! I finally got them up for beakfast and the battle started. After a couple of runs they all got spooked. And because I had to chum so much to get them up and feeding I ran out of corn. Packed my gear and decided to play around with my new digital. Really sucks to have a new camera and can't find anything to exciting to shot at. Everything around is dried up dead or dying. So Looked for things to take pics of. Below are a few things I found. I'm trying to macro shots. Its tough, I'm trying to figure out the closest I can get to a subject and get it into focus. When I got home, I thought I'd try getting real close up to my pet frog and see what happends. As you can see She's got one big belly !!. Well that's my report for now. Unless I can keep the carp feeding ...(Will Still Try !!! See how far I can get them feeding. ) this might be my last carp report til next year. dsn
  19. Glad to hear it all went well Mike. Now for a speedy recovery. GBU dsn
  20. Yeah I have to agree what an amazing scenery......I'd be taking millions of photographs and forget to to fish even if I brought my rod !! Truly is awesome beauty and peaceful. Thanks for sharing. dsn
  21. Yeah I noticed the Sport fishing license is now Like $92.28 and the conservation license is something like $54.94 not sure but I'll be going conservation from here on in. In past few years when the card came out I always went with the sport license but now forget it. Time to conserve. dsn
  22. Oops I just found out because of this thread "Thanks" to Rick." I haven't been on here that much. Sorry to hear. Hey " Mike" if you need support tell me where you're surgery will be taking place... and I'll be there for you. I'll pray for you tonight through out.. until your surgery is over that all may go well... dsn
  23. It's late in the season for carp fishing in some areas. But found some snuggled together trying to stay warm through out the night into the morning. Got some pics not alot. Not even as much as I wanted. Still trying to get used the the SX130. I used to have 700A. Which had a beter camera grip. And now I have the SX130 below. I have to slowly grab this camera and make sure I have solid grip on it. Unlike the one above. Sure hate to lose another camera. Here are the pics from this morning. If the weather stays sunny Thursday and Friday...this week. I might go back for more. I want the 3 footer I landed but didn't take a pic of it because I couldn't figure out where the self-timer was on this new Digi. Also still playing around with the settings. Some shots were completely a blurr. Practice makes perfect. DSN
  24. yeah its tough this time of year. Unless you have been still chumming the area for carp, to keep them feeding. If they have a food source they will hang around and their metabolism won't slow down or least will be maintained. If no food is around, their metabolism.... I guess shut down. Then they will not feed anymore until spring arrives again and the water starts to warm up again which will get their metabolism started again slowly. This is why every year the season for carp is slow to start with. They don't feed like they normally do in summer months. Unless you can find a pond stock with them so its easier for them to find the food it'll be tough to try to get them going again this time of year. DSN
  25. Thats so funny !! I look at the 1st fish's expression "Oh it's SO COLD OUT HERE OUT OF the water !!" Second fish looks like its "Sleeping.'" You can see it in its eyes and the two circles above its eyes saying its sound asleep. The third fish well looks like it came out of the freezer !! LoL looks like its already dead no life in it. Its eyes look cloudy. It must have been freezing out there like the first fish said. I don't know but that's the first thing I noticed." Fish Talking". May coz I'm a Pisces. dsn
