  1. nice work!!!! i cant wait to get up there!!!
  2. im also extremely curious as to how you burned out 13 reels in one season. as for me, ive use the curado 301 and have no complaints.
  3. nice work!!! i'll be there tommorrow trying to catch a few of those..
  4. i drove by there on tuesday. there is fishable open water on both roads. there was one guy fishing but i didnt stop to ask if he was having any luck. there was still a layer of slushy looking ice covering most of the water, but it is definitaly fishable and with these warm temps it should be wide open pretty soon.
  5. wow!!! nice boat!!!
  6. i like to make my own dough. its very simple. i just use 1 part corn meal and 1 part flour. add some garlic salt and also kool aid powder. combine it all in a bowl and add water. unfortunately i never measure/weigh anything out so i cant give you exact amounts. start off with a little water and then add more as needed. it should end up being dryish on the outside. if done right it is a really sticky dough and should stay on your hook for multiple casts.
  7. i should also mention that the temps in london for the next few days are well above zero. if you do decide to go id definitely bring a spud to check the ice and i wouldnt recommend going alone.
  8. it is a man made lake. the deepest part is about 40 feet. ive ice fished there mulitiple times. last i heard there is still a good 12 inches, however with these warm temps forecasted you'll definitely want to be be careful around the edges. the lake gets very good ice, just stay away from the dam. as for fish, there are walleye, pike, perch, LM and SM bass as well as carp and sunnies etc. be careful out there.
  9. that video is amazing!!!! and the GPS co-ordinates to that spot are????
  10. i just fished all weekend in a hut with a humminbird ice 45 and vex fl-8 2 feet apart. we had no issues whatsoever. if you do have issues both units have interference adjustments so it should never be a problem with those 2 flashers anyway.
  11. dont use the support cable for the transducer. its useless and can cause the ducer to hang uneven.
  12. haha!! yep, soon enough. ive got muskies on my mind still. managed to find a manta on ebay the other day. also im thinking of a mid-summer musky moustache bonanza for a day or two. what do you think?? say hey to robby for me.
  13. ive got 2 fenwick techna av's and a whole bunch of st. croix rods. i love my techna's. mine get the most use when fishing 30+feet of water jiggin for walleyes. i find them super sensitive and have really good backbone for deep water hooksets. i have fished mine pretty hard for 5 years and have not broken them yet! i have to say that i also love my croix avids and LE's.
  14. nice work ben!!! i cant wait to get back up there.
  15. awesome!! thanks guys! thats exactly what i was looking for.
  16. im just wondering what if anything you guys use to hold the camera in place underwater. i just got a camera off a buddy of mine and ive only played with it a few times. for me it just seemed like a bit of a hassle trying to get the camera to stay aimed at one spot. i saw a product somewhere online the other day but cant find it anywhere now. it is a black disk with slots in it that you can feed the cord through to hold the cam in place. has any one heard of these or used one?? any info would be great. id like to use the cam a bit more but it gets annoying and im more than happy just staring at my humminbird. thanks
  17. thanks for the info. thats good to know. i didnt think it would be a problem fishing in a conservation area though. is it closed in the winter or something??
  18. im just wondering if anyone here has fished deer creek in simcoe. ive heard that there is some decent fishing there and i wouldnt mind giving it a shot sometime. a few buddies of mine ice fished it last year and got a couple crappie but that about all i know about it. any info would be great. thanks
  19. i work at a lodge and all of our guests are american. we have had many guests stopped at the border and not allowed into canada because of a DUI. if you dont do the required paperwork you will not be allowed entry into canada. we had 3 guys drive up from texas, 1 had a DUI and was denied at internatinal falls, MN. he had to book a flight all the way back down to texas from minnesota. as far as the passport, you can definitely still get one with a DUI. other countries, like mexico, will allow you into the country with a DUI. hope this helps.
  20. jacks in delaware should have them. i think lambeth is closed till the 11th. why not just get one online at the mnr store??
  21. ive only been once. this saturday will be my second time. when we were there last year i think we caught around 40-50 perch and a couple pike in the 30 inch range. from what we were told by the owner it was a slower day. we had no complaints. between 4 of us i think we paid $35 each for the day. our hut had a woodstove and we had plenty of wood. i'd definitely reccommend them. i'll post a report saturday night or sunday.
  22. yep. i rented a hut off them last year and i also have one booked for this saturday. they run a good operation. they drive you to the huts, they will punch holes outside the hut if you ask, and they give you more then enogh minnows for the day. the price is fair. i have no complaints with them whatsoever. cant wait till saturday!!
  23. even headless and gutted they are a great pike bait!!
  24. the mnr store website is back up and running. i just got my license online.
