OR, can we make a fire pit? As far as I'm concerned my bed is a place for a few hours and the rest of the time is for fishing and fun. I don't care where we go. Fishing + OFC folks + Beer + fire = a hell of a good time in my mind...

What place has the fire pit? I think it's going to be needed as there are so mane new folks (like me) who want to go. Where's the best place to sit and chat (other then in a boat) with new 'friends'? A FIRE... After all, we need a few garbage can's with ice for all the keg's thatleetboy is going to bring so we need some space outside by a fire... PS, so far I'm in as I checked with the Mrs and as far as we know there is no family functions that weekend.

Joe, I think the plan this year is Merland Park and it's a cabin, not a tent I could be wrongm on the location though... As for the boat, I'm sure there are many folks here that can help you find the spots if you did bring your boat.

no luck today but yesterday was good. you have to look in deep water for the walter's but bass were scattered and not in the normal spots.

I got bit off this morning there (North end) using a darter jig and a 4" grub. It was 2 quick head shakes and gone. I was using #30 braid too. The current water temp there is 60* and yesterday was 62* for those wondering.

I recently read an article about using a chatterbait for walleye. Has anyone here ever tried and had success? If I get out today I'm going to give it a try.

*bump* well plans have changed on me and I'm not happy about it... no, not from the person that invited me to Chemong. I have two options right now. 1, go to my folks place (round trip 3 hrs) and fish for a few hrs. or 2, hook up with someone from the board that can do a 1/2 to 2/3 day of fishing tomorrow close to home. My big boat has gone to sleep for the season but my tinny is ready if I go to my folks place to fish. Anyone want to get out in the Durham area? I may do some shore fishing or head up to the boat, duno...

My wife's got her sister and kid's coming over (and my bro-in-law cannot make it now due to work) so the Mrs just told me to get out and go fishing! WOO HOO!! I was a CBAF member and had a great time, learned a lot in a short time (weekly meetings) and met great people. Just make sure you start saving your $ now for events and gas $ for the boater you go out with...
