  1. I've checked this one and all others Cliff. Keeping an eye. Some great photos and memories for all involved. Kudos to OFC'ers for another annual success.
  2. Big Sand Lake Lodge makes the list for one of the best lodges in the country, and, it's excellent to see the local Band in the area operating it, and doing well. They're a great example for other Bands planning development and business with their own government funding for such projects. In Ontario I'm hoping our local Band here does well maintaining the excellence Kesagami Lake Lodge is known for, and taking pointers from Big Sand could help. I have to say... three thumbs up with this one Fang. +1. Pretty sick fishing, I bet now you're spoiled for awhile.
  3. That's some great fishing right thar dood. Nice leather too. Where's the 40??? Hope some people come by and pick up the trash in that one pic. Great numbers of fish and the spot looks mint. Quality time with the buds fer sure.
  4. John's a heckuva guy to shoot the breeze with but what I can't figure out is how our pm's about Hares Ear Nymphs jumped to ambitious summer time epic adventures in the quest for the next best seller. lol. John........ care to explain? lol. j/k
  5. Thanks for the post and it's effort Don. I don't get much time for following US healthcare concerns as Canadian concerns are what I live with. Reading this brief overview was quite interesting.
  6. Good show dood. You're as hardcore as many and this yak fishing is taking off. What an ambassador. (where the heck are my emoticons now) CONG. CONG to you. Looking forward to my issue. I have to ask though... why a pike, I thought you were a shark guy. Sharks from a kayak... now that would draw out the masses to the sport eh..?
  7. Doods, There's been a few cases of counterfeit $5'ers going around in your neck of the woods and up here too. For verification that your's is worth a thing, you best send it up here to me to check it out. My address is sent, check your pm's.
  8. You guys have a gathering... oops. Yeah.. slipped me mind. Have a great go. Heading north myself, to the Attawapiskat. Praying the bugs calm down a little.
  9. Spiel.... I know EXACTLY where you're coming from. I have a fly-in next week with 3 others. I'm taking care of all the groceries so we don't double up on things. Trying to figure out what 4 of us will eat for 7 days and be sure we don't go too overboard or not have enough is a days worth of thinking in itself. Sunday was a half day sorting gear also. No trips to the store yet. Don't have one to go too. Where are you off too???
  10. Good fizishin' Johnny-to-the-Bass.
  11. I'm a nurse... yeah... a man nurse too. Got a problem with that? lol. Worked Outpost and ER for nearly a decade, with a little Nephrology-Med in the beginning as well. I used to work hard but once you've done some time in the same job much of it becomes familiar; there are days though where I certainly earn my keep. The north gives me the opportunity to have autonomy in my profession and 90% of my time I work without the help of doctors, in a role that less than 1% of Ontario's nurses are permitted to work in. The choice and ability to think freely and problem solve in my chosen career should excel my learning curve over the majority of more restrictive RN specialties I don't envy doctors one bit, I wouldn't want their existence. Most of them are so far behind what I hold important in life at my age. I don't envy nurses either, and could list dozens of reasons why. I wouldn't recommend the carreer to anyone except highly compassionate and quick, logical thinking women or, easy going gay men. Unfortunately I'm not either, so I can see me looking for some form of Freedom 35 or upgrade to a position of Grand Master of something... maybe the universe. Seriously though, the career can be very rewarding in many ways and open doors into the very broad job field of health and medicine, which, will always require a huge workforce, will always pay well and have benefits, and... will always be in need. My current job is full of great benefits and has so far allowed me a great quality of life.
  12. Too funny. Do it a few times and you'll learn to not do it anymore. Fish looks good but it could have been blurred to a bigger size. lol.
  13. Hey Mike, I've been talking with ya for about a year now I think. What are we doing for our first anniversary man??? You better make it special with some fish and food. Cool report. That area up there looks just amazing to explore.
  14. Excellent post TGuy. Congrats on 50 years, that's awesome. Looks like you have all the pieces of a perfect life and family dood.
  15. Domincan leader in the early 80's decided no more money into the environment. Ever since then, not a piece of garbage from the annual week long Mardi Gras in Peurto Plata has been picked up off the city beach. Cruise ships won't even port there anymore. Maybe that's why trips to the country are as cheap as Cuba... they have reason to sell at low cost because of political issues. Mexico... they're a bargain for the simple reason it's all civil competetion to get tourists to one of their many many resort areas. Dominican shop owners need not barter if you happen to go into the cities or towns. Everyday people will do that for them. And if you say no and hop on your moped to get away.... better look back and be sure no ones gunning to run you off the road just to steal the 4 bucks in your wallet. That's how crude. Punta Cuna I haven't been too. I imagine it's a great looking sand dune like the many that can be found in countless other countries in the Gulf of Mexico and Central Americas. It's all for the resort going (and staying and drinking and laying around) tourists right??? We stayed 5 star and still got off the resort everyday we were there so to get some sort of minimal touristy fill of the culture Unimpressed. Totally. Sad that I hadn't instead returned to Costa Rica really. Again, my $.02
  16. Ahhhh the Dominican. The DUNG-HOLE of the entire Carib. Do yourself a favor and rebook somewhere with some class. My $.02 only.
  17. Spend so much dang time fishing alone people probably would prefer not to fish with me. My job sees me off work midweek all the time while others are working. Having the river to myself can be a real treat. That said, whenever I've had people up here in the boat with me I really enjoy it. They get such an experience out of every little thing their happiness rubs off on me. When I go on trips abroad it's nice to share those days with friends or family. It's also great once in awhile to get to fish with "hardcores" as up here I don't think there's anyone who fishes as much as I do, taking it as seriously. Blessed any way I look at it.
  18. Yep. Hold the bass tight for an hour until it breathes it's last breath. Then, get to work on removing the hook from you thumb. Or, don't use Rapala's.
  19. Just the start of a lifelong chase right there. Good show.
  20. G'Dang dooooood. There ya go.!.!.!
  21. Awesome Dan and Rocky. I swear you guys are on my doorstep in some of those pics. Some VERY VERY nice walleye, you guys did well.
  22. 100% C&R... Ummm gotta run, pike on the BBQ's burning.
  23. Your's man... although a Scottish fella on another site wants it as well. My little one's point of view didn't actually come from her. It was my point of view of her point of view. But I know her pretty well, she's 50% blood, 99% Bunk in nature. Thanks again all.
  24. Only osh-kosh-bijoshin' ya Stevie Zebco. I got my own to fondle and enjoy. Good fishin' with ya. We'll get our ladies out soon.
  25. Ughh!!! "Sick" and sick lamprey shot Dan. Catchin' anything in that kind of flood would be a tough task. Ya did alright dood. Thanks for the report, and careful on those roads. lol.
