  1. You have to be careful when picking out Cubans.... for Romeo Y Julietta you may be grabbing the Dominican brand rather than the Cuban...same thing with Cohiba. Your best bet is to go to a tobacconist (not a corner store with a humidor) because they would have the best advise and quality cigars. Be aware that there are a lot of fake cigars out there...no necessarily banana leaf like you see in cuba or the DR, but with black market leaf stolen from factories....

  7. http://www.thestar.com/news/ontario/article/661910 A Sad day in the policing world. Only two days after two young Barrie Police Officers were attacked and in serious but stable condition. OPP officer dies after cruiser collides with truck TORONTO STAR GRAPHIC Email story Jul 07, 2009 10:57 AM Madeleine White Staff Reporter One OPP officer is dead and another is seriously injured after a crash near London, Ont. The police cruiser collided with an asphalt truck around 1:30 p.m. on Furnival Rd. south of Rodney, halfway between London and Chatham. Const. Al Hack, 31, from the Elgin County detachment of the OPP, was taken to the health services centre in Newbury where he succumbed to his injuries. Sgt. Dave Rektor of the OPP said the constable was hired full-time in May after serving part-time as a cadet for two years. He was "just a very great guy, well-liked by everybody at the detachment and certainly (this is) a huge tragedy for everybody," Rektor told CP24 last night. The other officer, Const. Lynn Neale, was in stable condition after being airlifted to London Health Sciences Centre. "We're all hopeful and rallying around her that she is going to make a recovery," Rektor said. Neale has been with the Eglin county OPP for just over a year. Last night Premier Dalton McGuinty issued a statement honouring the fallen officer. "On behalf of all Ontarians, I would like to express my condolences to Constable Hack's fiancée, family, friends and colleagues. "You are in our thoughts and prayers ..." There is no word on whether the driver of the transport, who was not injured, will be charged. Seven investigators from the provincial Special Investigations Unit are probing the crash. An OPP officer with the Elgin detachment was quoted last night saying it was unclear what led to the collision. "The word `pursuit' has not been used," he said

I missed this year because I couldn't get the day off, but when I have been down there I met Tommy Lasorda, Andre Dawson, Dave Stieb, Steve Rogers, Tony Perez, Doc Taylor, just to name a few. But for the ulitmate baseball geek, the Hall in Cooperstown is a great trip. Was there last year and will be seeing it again in August

  16. The worst part, was when you look at the literature and all the documentaries of D Day....Canada was the first to break the German lines, the first to reach their target and they did it in one day..... what is really sad is the insult to the 250,000 veterans who were insulted - 90,000 Canadians and I think it was 165,000 Brits....
  17. Unfortunately I missed a lot of the rememberance celebration of D Day yesterday. Normally, if I get the chance, I sit and watch everything that takes place or documentaries that are played on June 6th, but being away, I was stuck with reading the aftermath and I wasn't impressed. Basically in his speech the President of France, Nicholas Sarkozi stated that D Day was entirely the result Franco-American success.....completely and utterly spitting in the faces of Canadian and British veterans, not only that, France did not invite the leaders of Canada or Britain to the celebrations around Normandy, Harper and the British leaders basically invited themselves and insisted they were allowed to speak. The French government only wanted Sarkozi and Obama to speak. It's terrible to think that the United States gets all the credit for the success of the Normandy invasion. In the Kitchener Record, in the opinion section, a Canadian student made a great comment. This young woman was a tour guide at a museum in one of the small towns along Juno beach where the Canadians landed. She made everyone who read it aware that the French are more than greatful for what the Canadians did. Too bad their leaders are too busy sucking up to the Americans and Barrack Obama. I will always be thankful for what the WW2 vets did for this country and I think that Harper had it right -finally- when he called that generation, the greatest generation. The did not have to fight. Their liberty was not in jeapordy, but they fought for what was right. It's a shame that there are very few WW2 vets still alive. Bless them all, we will not forget - unlike the President of France.
