  1. Just to be safe, maybe the 36v 101 iPilot
  2. Ive been using this for about 10 yrs... http://www.cabelas.com/product/Fishing/Rod-Reel-Storage/Fishing-Rod-Racks%7C/pc/104793480/c/104812380/sc/104539680/Boat-Buckle174-RodBunk-Deluxe-Rod-Carrier/703644.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Ffishing-rod-reel-storage-fishing-rod-racks%2F_%2FN-1102357%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104539680%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253B%2BLNcat104538780%253Bcat104812380&WTz_l=SBC%3B+LNcat104538780%3Bcat104812380%3Bcat104539680
  3. It will get sorted out, I had some issues with mine that make yours look enviable! My motor was mounted to low and I experienced some porpoising but worst of all, they had the hydraulic steering set up backwards. Turn left, go right. Made it fun for trolling and docking.
  4. Ooops, lost sight of the rules
  5. Whoa.... Mike, you're gonna have a tough decision!
  6. My guess would be two possible causes without knowing all the symptoms... Motor too low. Raise the motor mounts so the cavitation plate is at or slightly above water level when cruising. Boat is too wide for its length and/or aft heavy. Make it longer with a jack plate or trim tabs. A jack plate may be the right solution as it would address both issues but its not a cheap addition for a 'maybe this will work'
  7. Government doesn't profit from the operators card, it costs them money. This system is about optics; they're showing they care at the least expense. Not far off the Drive Clean program in Ontario. I was asked to produce my card this spring to Niagara Regional Police. First time since I obtained it.
  8. VERY nice fish!!!!
  9. Dealer sale: You pay everything to the dealer and they will register the boat online, register the trailer and ensure liens are cleared. Private sale: You pay the negotiated price before tax. Have duplicate bill's of sale with both parties signing off (include hull, motor, trailer serial numbers). Obtain the vessel registration paper from Transport Canada from the seller. Obtain the trailer registration from the seller (seller keeps the plate portion). Take your bill of sale to the Ontario Motor vehicle license office and have the trailer ownership changed into your name. This is where you will pay the taxes. Download a vessel registration application from Transport Canada, complete form and mail it in with the required documents. While waiting for your vessel registration approval, you MUST keep the original bill of sale AND a copy of the vessel registration application with you while operation the boat. Not sure about a lien search... ask a local auto shop owner, they might be able to point you in the right direction.
  10. Good deal but this is old inventory. If Darren wants a Gen II, he will have to cough up a few hun.
  11. I won't argue against the merits of marine grade cable but I will say the battery cables on my '99 Suburban have never given me issues and they're not coated. If he wants to hunt down marine grade and pay the premium, that's fine too.
  12. Don't bother with marine grade wire; it's not an issue on fresh water boats. Princess Auto has 6awg booster cables on sale right now.
  13. Just another day at the office for you.... I know when I'm out there tomorrow I'll be hearing "You should have been here yesterday!!!!"
  14. PM sent. Sorry I missed the post but probably saved you several hours. The only thing biting was the flies. This is starting to sound like a challenge! I hope the next few months fly by for ya.
  15. You guys have fish there too?
  16. Seat is taken
  17. I won't hold that against ya I have lots of room in the boat for a chair. If you think we can get ya in and out, being on the boat won't be an issue at all.
  18. This is why I'm never specific about time zones. Does it really need to be said "we'll be done by 10:00AM Mountain"
  19. I saw that on another thread so I figured you were tied up. I can be out there super early if you want to hook up... maybe drag for some walleye from 5-6 and then slay the big girls!
  20. I'm heading from London to Lake St. Clair tomorrow (Sunday June 10)and I have room in the boat, any takers? I have all the gear, all you need is your license/food/beverages
  21. My neighbour, a die-hard sled-head wandered over one day while I had the muffs on my old Mariner. He said he missed that smell since purchasing a couple new 4-stoke sleds. I knew exactly what he meant by that and replied "There's nothing quite like a 2 stoke; it just smells like fun." The new E-TEC is remarkably better than pre 2000 outboards for sound and odour. Mike P noted above that they should be avoided if you/your family is sensitive to the odour but it should be noted that we were back trolling a 150 for hours. If we were trolling forward, I don't think you'd smell much of anything unless you had a good tail wind.
  22. That's great; I have to remember that one. You guys weren't that quite when I had the cottage next to you! Kidding of course
  23. That wasn't the motor you were smelling
  24. Its likely an under inflation issue. The tire pressure indicated on the sidewall is just a safe guideline. To establish proper pressure, a pyrometer should be used to take temperatures across the tread (inner, middle, outer). Once you have a baseline reading, adjust your pressure so you have similar temps across the tread. A very useful tool and will pay for itself if you use it around the house to find drafts/heat loss. http://www.hrpworld.com/index.cfm?tpc=AccuTech-Infrared-Laser-Pyrometer-600º&form_prod_id=4739&action=product
