  1. Although I've never openwater fished the area I've stayed at Northland Paradise in Temagami. Walking distance to the town on Cassels Lake. Have caught lake trout, whitefish & ling thru the ice. Always enjoyed my stays but it has been over 15 years since I was last there. The lake also is said to have bass, pike & walleye. Same owners as the last time I was there. Best Wishes: Rick
  2. Excellent site. Thanks.
  3. I sure hope I can make it again this year. Will get a prize to you also. As for other sites All for a good cause. I have recommended it on another site already. Looking forward to another great day: Rick
  4. Not currently but 3+ years Regular Force & 10+ years Reserve Force. All served with the RCR. As a reservist I also did a Nato Ex. in Noraway & a UN tour in Cyprus. Also instructed basic & leadership courses. Last 6 years at the rank of Sgt. Pm me also if you what more info. Por Patria: Rick
  5. I live about 15 mins. NE of London Airport. We got about 1/2 or slightly less snow than reported in London. As it was light fluffy snow I was able to drive through it to go to work in Stratford today. If it would have been wet heavey snow I would have not even considered trying it. Best Wishes: Rick
  6. Early Jan. try the lakes arround Temagami. Temagami is closed but the nearby lakes should be open. Maybe Cross or Cassels Lakes. Also Bark Lake near Barrys Bay should be open.
  7. I do most of the cooking also. I hate doing dishes. It works out fine, I cook the meal she cleans up. BTW: I didn't build this belly on beer alone.
  8. Heres my PB. Heck anyone can catch the big ones. It takes skills to catch the little ones.
  9. Sure you don't mean Cozy Camp Cottages? Never heard of Cozy Park Cottages. I have stayed with Brian & Diane many times and can recommend thier camp. Nice clean cottages & friendly service. Also one of my favorite lakes. On days that will keep you off Nipissing you can find a sheltered bay to fish on Nosbonsing. As for fishing the middle of June if you hit the mayfly hatch(usually around that time) you can expect slow fishing. If you book & want more info feel free to PM me. Best Wishes: Rick
  10. After removing the fish from the brine I recomend you let them tack up before putting in smoker. This lets the sugars in the brine form a glaze on the outside of the fish & also starts the drying process. It is a simple process where you put the fish on racks to let air circulate arround the fish & place in fridge for 8-12 hrs. Also using brown sugar in the brine works excellent. Good Luck: Rick
