  1. I fixed the kicker. Thank god for the internet. Apparently sometimes when you squeeze the ball and it doesnt get hard then it can lead to numerous problems such as motors cutting out due to fuel starvation. Some times a simple solution is holding the ball vertical when pumping. It gets hard now with 2 pumps. Ran the motor for 30mins it runs better than ever. Im glad i didnt have to purchase a new hose or fuel pump.
  2. Yup. You can hear the air release when i open the tank and even a bit of gas comes out.
  3. Hey guys, I have a 2006 Yamaha 9.9 high thrust 4 stroke kicker. Ive had some weird issues going on and figure someone could help out. Ive always had a weird issue where the ball pump on the fuel line never got hard regardless of how many squeezes but the motor ran fine with that. Recently, i prime the ball and troll with the motor and everything is great.....and then the motor cuts out. I pump the ball several times and it starts no problem and runs for about 10mins and cuts out again. When in neutral, it can run continuously without dying but in gear, it seems to cut out like its no getting fuel. I changed the primer ball and it also doesnt get hard. Same problem. The motor runs off its own small gas tank. The gas is always new. The valve is open. When the motor is running, and the ball is squeezed and held, i can feel the gas travellin down the line. Im wondering if its the fuel pump or what? Any ideas? Any yamaha service shops in the GTA? Thanks in advance.
  4. X2. Flueger President for 3 years of heavy use for salmon and bows with no problems. As smooth as my old JAPANESE stradic. No problem paying $60 for that. Dont see a point in paying $200 for a Malaysian stradic.
  5. 17' lund explorer SS. It seems to be a good setup. Was looking to get something used but the ipilot seems like a great fishing toy.
  6. How is it this year? How have the deals been? Looking to get a Minn Kota 101 ipilot.
  7. Thank you! I guess it helps to ask the auto guys behind the counter.
  8. Been looking to join 3 batteries in series. I see the diagrams online on how to do it however im having problems finding single strand 6gauge wiring to link them . Been to Rona, Lowes, Home Depot and Princess Auto. All i found was super heavy duty 6 gauge with a positive, negative and ground wire within it. My motor receptable plug is a 6 gauge single strand wire.... Thanks.
  9. You seem to follow the Leaf posts very closely. We get it. You dont like them. You call them Laffs. Haha very funny. Every hockey thread goes 10 pages because of your criticism. Get over it.
  10. I like Don but that has nothing to do with winning. Its becoming like the Montreal Canadiens. Prefer a french speaking coach instead of a winning coach. It does not matter. Ontario players or not, the goal is winning games. Burke is fed up with Toronto media.
  11. Just wondering what you guys are paying for full coverage. I have a 17' lund with a 90yammy and 9.9 yammy kicker.
  12. 24 and 36. It looks full proof with tons of good reviews. The only thing i would have to do is install a 7pin harness on my pathfinder.
  13. Thanks. I've been looking into the Stay n Charge system that charges your trolling batteries when running the outboard and also when you tow the boat. It has great reviews with a good price to boot.
  14. I am also looking for a charger and i have a few questions of my own. My lund had 2 batteries in the back(starting, and another for downriggers, electronics and such) and another one up front for the trolling motor. Im not sure what kind of charger it has(assuming it does since i've never had a battery die) but I just got a 101lbs 36Vtrolling motor and i need to have 3 deep cycle batteries up front. Do i need a 3 or 4 bank charger? Im also looking to pick up a basic Lowrance Mark 5X-DSI for the bow just for some muskie fishing. Any thoughts? Wire it to the back of the boat or is it okay with the front trolling batteries? I have so many wires running through the boat now and its starting to get confusing.
  15. Have a new one for sale for $20. My humminbird flasher died and i thought it was battery only to find out it wasnt.
  16. Living right next to the US border, i just go over the river for dirt cheap gas. Comes out to less than a buck after border fee. I try to avoid the canadian gas madness.
  17. Still nothing? We've had some cold nights. Planning to get out somewhere by friday. I have the itch!
  18. Any ice on the lake? Should be frozen over at least. Hopefully these cold temps stay even through long range forecast does not look too promising.
  19. 3 times a week? Less than 1% of a fire departments call volume is an actual fire. Once a year is more of an accurate number.
  20. I dont know why it took Jones that long to go to the ground after losing in the striking. What a great win for Mir! Very unfortunate for Hominick. He will be back.
  21. Thanks guys. Completed everything. Worked like a charm.
  22. Hey guys, Im winterizing my boat for the first time. I read a whole bunch online. I have a 17' lund with a 90 yamaha 4 stroke and a 9.9hp high thrust 4 stroke kicker. I changed the oil to synthetic 10w30 and new filters. Now im looking at this lower unit oil and i see there are bottle pumps that make it easy. Wondering if it is an absolute must or are there other techniques out there? I bought synthetic gear oil from CTC. Not sure if its the right stuff. Im also wondering how people are running antifreeze through the outboard. Cant seem to see where to get it in there. Also fogging??? Any help would be appreciated. I know some of this may be common sense but this is my first time doing it and i've read a bit about it and it hasnt clarified anything so i figured i'd double check to be safe. Thanks.
  23. Hey guys, I picked up a 9.9 Yamaha 4str high thrust kicker. I installed all the steering cables and what not but i'm ttying to figure out how to install a fuel line from it directly to my internal tank on my Lund. I googled it and some say to use a "T" connection, others say not to. Im not sure whats correct. Anyone have their kicker setup by a marina? Any help will be appreciated.
  24. Awesome ideas. Thanks guys. I will start off with just the kicker and then try the kicker with the trolling motor. If i dont like it then a new Yamaha 9.9 4 stroke it is.
  25. More boat questions for you guys. I was looking to buy a new 9.9 Yammy kicker. Almost forgot about my early 90's 8hp Nissan 2HP kicker. I am not picky about a 4 stroke kicker to match the 4 stroke main outboard. Having a small gas tank at the back of the boat is not a big deal for me. Im looking at a Panther Steering bar to do the trick. Any experiences? i never dealt with a kicker. I always trolled with a main outboard. Will i have to manually lift the motor up and drop it every time i move spots? How do you accelerate and slow down speeds? I get that the side console will do the steering but will i have to manually set the speed on the kicker and settle for that speed? Its not ideal to use an old motor that is a pull start and manual tilt but if i can save $2000 this season and use the old kicker then im okay with that. Thanks.
