There hasn't been any rain in almost 3 weeks. Wait for a good cold rain in October and fish should start coming in.

Can't wait for next June!!! Amazing report Mike....ever thought about a sales position? -
Should anyone wish to go to the Streetsville Dam through the surrounding lands, they will be trespassing. Kraft owns both sides of the river and will come down heavily on violators.

New Bait for Steelhead and Salmon Fishermen
justin elia replied to fishinguypat's topic in General Discussion
I'll pass on that idea. Too many other better ways to target steelies and salmon. -
Green, Blue, Black, Yellow and Orange are some good colours for Lake O. Try Matrix, Pro King and Northern King spoons. Have had a lot of success with those brands.

I was there last summer. Bring lots of crank baits, blue and white countdowns/floating rapala's in size 9 and 11 and black and silver jerk baits that dive down no more than 6 feet. Lots of Pike and walleye. They even have blue walleye up there. Very cool to see. If you're staying at the lodge, the family there will give you a map of the lake and tell you where the good walleye spots are. As for Pike, just troll shorline in 8-10 feet of water and you'll do well. We didn't bother with lakers. Good luck. Justin

The simplest method is to just wait for a cold rain storm in September. When the rivers rise, the fish will enter the system. There are other factors that play a role, but for the most part just follow that rule and you should be fine. Justin

I use a triple sergeon knot to connect my main line to my leader. Clinch knot on the hook.

how will this weather affect the salmon run?
justin elia replied to silvio's topic in General Discussion
The main run in the Credit River came in early September last year. Salmon will run based on water temp and water levels. We had such a cool and wet summer last year that the river had above normal flows so it made for ideal conditions for them to run early. Many wondered where they went.....directly into the santuary! It doesn't really matter how the summer progesses, because you can have a hot and dry summer and get 50mm of cold rain in one day in August and it will trigger a run. Happened on the willy a few years back......they were in thick 2nd week of August. Expect the tribs out east to get a run of Salmon first before any others. CLofchik has some good points too. Towing over capacity, Real World Experience Wanted
justin elia replied to Ziki's topic in General Discussion
Your true concern should be below, not whether you can bring the boat up the ramp. 1-get into an accident, you may be charged with careless driving 2-insurance may not cover if there is any damage to the boat or truck eg. trying to pull the boat up a ramp and truck gets sucked down 3-your brakes arent ment for that weight, you could easily get pushed through an intersection Safety should take precedence. -
Try spoonpullers.com. Should be very informative for a beginner. J

Its not MNR's responsibility to know individual property ownership rights. But it doesnt hurt to ask. J

Bill, My friends and I have tried looking into this for a piece of property on a gbay trib for the same reason. You have to go to the land registry office with her address, and or legal description. You can then pull the deed for a fee. Its a very hard thing to prove, I would do the homework before going up again. Some land owners do own riverbed, and unfortunately we as anglers have to respect that. I would say that if the police did come, they would slap you with a fine and you would have to fight it. Guilty until proven innocent in this case. Its funny, everyone knows places on rivers where land owners claim to own riverbed and come out shouting at you when you're fishing saying that you're tresspassing. At the same time, you never hear of anyone getting a ticket, or a fine. Wouldn't you think that if a few people got fined for tresspassing, word would spread like wildfire and no one would even think of tresspassing on that land anymore? Makes you think, do they really own the riverbed, because if they did, why come out, just call the cops and let them sort it out. J

The Credit River still has steelhead throughout the systems. Not sure what the rain did yesterday but you may want to wait and let it clear up. Good Luck.

Hi Jet, Im glad you got into some steel, but lets try some better fish handling techniques. Bringing them in the mud and sand for picture, is it really worth it? Pic number 2 looks great! Still in the water. Keep in mind that the mud, dirt and sand remove that slimy coating that protects them from disease.

Credit River Tournament POSTPONED!!!!
justin elia replied to justin elia's topic in General Discussion
Hi Everyone, Just to recap. The Tournament will be postponed until May 9th. Same date, same time, same location. Some have replied stating you cannot make it, and some of you have said that you can. What I need everyone to do is email me, indicating if they will be able to show up so I can ammend the teams properly. Secondly, for those that cannot, I need to know if you would like to donate your entry fee to CRAA and remain in the draw for the prizes. Those that cannot come, and donate money to the club are more than welcome to join us for lunch. Please get back to me as soon as possible so that I can make necessary changes for the event and have it run as smoothly as possible for next Saturday. Thank you and I apologise for the inconvenience. -
Hi everyone, If you've entered the tournament, please note that it will not be taking place on Saturday May 2nd. The river is unsafe to fish and there is zero visability. The new date is May 9th, same time, same place. As my original message states, if the river is in flood stage, it will take place the following week. If you have any questions, please email me at [email protected]. Justin

Had my knee scoped in August. Had a 2/3 torn ACL, manicus damage and they had to shave some build up on my bone. Brutal recovery, still dealing with it. As for just a torn maniscus, if its not a bad injury, she'll be up and walking in a few days. Every body is different, and every injury is different.
