  1. nice fish and everything. i bet it was an EPIC trip ! nice mix of fruits and mushrooms and fungus there. I wonder which ones are magical ?
  2. that brown one looks like you had a smallmouth in your cooler anyways. nice stuff
  3. ive actually done some dipping into salt lately and i dont think it changes anything. ive caught fish without the dipping and same with the dipping. i say you should keep tossing em. btw - cranks dont have any salt on them and they work
  4. nice stuff, but you didnt keep the smb that was almost killed by the pike? i dont see it living much longer with that big of an open wound.
  5. NICE ! GOOD FISH AND ALL. is your wife a teacher? i think she teaches at my school ! SURPRISING TO SEE MY TEACHER ON THIS FORUM ! LOL too bad she doesnt know my name as i only see her once in a while in school
  6. i went after the lightning and rain yesterday, the water visibility was very bad, and we only managed small rockbass and sunfish. since the water was really murky, hot pink worked okay for the panfish, but nothing else was biting. Even the panfish bites were sparse, and i found that bigger pauses in your presentation helped a little bit. good luck tomorrow. still is good to go out fishing
  7. WOW, i reeally gotta check the weather before i head out. today i went to a local pond for some LMB fishing, saw some lightning far off in the west, but got rained on a little only
  8. if you're fishing anything besides panfish , i say powerbait / gulp work really well and smell probably really good to the fish, but lately, ive been using these micro tubes from Yum, and BPS for panfish and they DO smell like rubber, but it still seems to work wonders --- it might be just that we dont find that smell attractive, and there is this oil coating around the tube, not sure if that aids in enticing the fish to bite
  9. that smallmouth in the secnod picture almost had me mistaken it was a largemouth !

    Travel Rods

thanks for all the tips everyone, will sure look into each product that you guys mentioned ! and another question, do you guys take off the reel each time after taking everything apart?
  11. Im actually just in the market right now for a rod that is either telescopic or multi-pieced. Im hoping that i can put it in something as small as a backpack. Does anyone know the differences between a telescopic and a multi-piece? What are the pro's and con's of each? Does anyone also have a recommendation? Also, Is there a special type of reel that i will be needing to make it a good combo? Im looking to put a spinnning reel onto this rod. Thanks in Advance for any hints and tips~~
  12. oh god, wtg wireless companies. If others havent noticed, our phone plans cost probably twice of what our neighbouring Americans cost. (well maybe im just exaggerating) but Canadian wireless plan prices have always been WAYYYYYYYY up high. And the advice about changing numbers for taking out spam? what about the people that use their phones to get their business and a number change would lose them $$ if they can make plans a lot cheaper, then go ahead and put this incoming text charge on.
  13. was lucky that i got out at during the night and fished as soon as it opened. Stayed out til it started to rain
  14. kijiji is full of scams and espeically if they say that the car / boat isnt currently in the area.(and this boat says its in florida ) i wouldnt trust it that much.
  15. I actually am in love and have an affair with white plastics. They seem to work the best at night and seem to have produced the biggest fish compared to natural colours. I have yet to try glow in the dark, but it seems quite interesting. Good Luck with whatever colour you end up choosing!
  16. oh good, i was looking in the back where we used to have the stickers....and it just says 3 years there. well, good thing thats solved. and that card does need to get changed, now that i dont need stickers on it, i dont want the slots for stickers...
  17. Ok, so ive just received my outdoors card for the 2008-2010 fishing years, and before that i was just using the temporary. Upon receiving it, i look at it, nothing looks different. But when you look at the back, it just says Fishing 3 year licence.... This is easily going to affect people that dont go fishing very often as they will not remember the year that they bought it if they bought a 3 year? AND PLUS, How are CO's going to check what year your card is? and how long it's going to last? Just a little rant. -ec
  18. Wow. i wouldnt believe it wihtout seeing the video. I never thought that a pike would attack another smaller pike for dinner. Btw, Nice pike
  19. I wouldnt say its over at all, but i have to agree with you that the fact that the fishing from shore has slowed down tons. when i was out last night, the panfish were still on, and you will just need more patience with your time from shore. Fish swim, and theyre not going to stay in the same spot for their entire life. Btw, the weather is hopefully going to be like how it was forecasted, and it should liven up the shore fishing once again in the next week.
  20. interesting video. i always thought smallmouth was like all over the place. I guess only the big walleye are left now and the small walleye are starting to die off.
  21. basically putting any image onto the forum is to put a [ img ] and a [ / img ] (without spaces) around your picture's url . URL is basically your uploaded picture, right click it. and then look for properties...there it willl say URL : http : // www.thisismypicture com / mypicture.jpg or any link. pm me if you have any questions about it still
  22. Okay, so basically the question i've wondered for quite a while is whether the crappie population in the kawarthas are going up or down. From my knowledge, crappie spawn a lot, but then im guessing there are just as many people fishing for them at the same time. Is anyone on this board familiar with the crappie population in that direction? Thanks for reading
  23. so far minnows were the best for me. whether they were 2.5" or 3", it produced well for fish from walleye, bass, and crappie. havent gotten a hold of the alive stuff, but the normal ones are working quite well. As for another product, ive gotten the gulp shaky shad..they havent worked for me yet but im not sure why. maybe it was because of the hard time fishng i had this year. Anyways, i say go for more minnows.
  24. Holy crap lol 4 inches for crappie!? I only use 2.5" minnows for crappie fishing. Whats the average size for the crappie you catch!? And does anyone know how much more expensive alive is compared to the normal packaging ones? (well, comparing them based on the numbers of them in a package)
  25. yup, just wanted to see what you got your loved ones this time of the year i got some bath and shower stuff. not very original
