  1. Forgot about the UV shirts from Columbia as well. They work great!
  2. Lew, my dad will usually burn really bad if exposed to the sun, I bought him one of those Buff headware sun protector things. He can pretty much wrap his entire head with it and it protects all those places you miss with sun screen, lol. He says it's also pretty cool as well. You see alot of the guys fishing the flats down south wear them.
  3. I've also used Berkley Gulp leeches on worm harnesses, they last at least 4-5 fish before they need to be replaced. They'll work in a pinch if you run out of worms.
  4. As far as baits all you'll need are some harnesses and big stick baits.... If the lake you are flying into has a decent population of walleye, you'll smash them on both. It doesn't get much better then trolling after dark with big sticks baits!!!
  5. Terry, which lake are you flying into with Parks? I flew out with them with Solo a few years back and we had a awesome time. The Sultan rd is about 77kms or so, and it won't be that bad this time of year. It saves you about an hour or so on the overall trip.. Make sure you have a spare tire though. I've taken it numerous times without issue.
  6. I don't fish on days like these. I'll do a morning/evening fish and skip all the nasty muggy weather inbetween.
  7. You need to find the thermocline and troll just above it. My guess is that you'll be fishing 45-50ft. Bring some dipsy divers.... they'll get your baits down.
  8. No fish finder in a lake that's up to 300ft? You are asking for another skunking.
  9. Same here Frankie, lol.
  10. Ah, I didn't look at any side consoles. The one I looked at was the 16 XCaliber full console. A side console would definitely free up some space.
  11. I looked at that exact boat, but it just seemed a wee bit to small (cramped) with the full console. We've been running a 15ft Legend widebody tiller for years, no complaints with it at all. I love that boat! Although we did max the engine out on it (40hp 4stroke Honda)..
  12. Come on boys, there are bigger gators in there then that! Go get 'em!
  13. Straighten it yourself. If it were an expensive reel, I probably wouldn't.. But in this case I would for sure.
  14. Fish the mornings and evenings.. No need to sit out in 30 degree weather. Go swimming instead.
  15. Singers sewing machine oil is all I use on my centerpins...
  16. Berkley Gulp makes a wicked imitation shrimp! I know a few of the locals down there run nothing but a small feather on the back of their jigs.. No live bait at all.
  17. Sweet!!! Smallies on the fly would be a riot.
  18. I don't think we need detailed reports about lakes this small to be honest. The OP should use a little restraint next time.
  19. If I was in Clearwater, I'd be fishing HoneyMoon Island State Park every single day. Some Doc's Goofy jigs and half a shrimp are all you need. No need for the salmon stick either. A M or ML 6'6 spinning rod, 10-15lb braid and 20lb flouro leader will work fine. I've caught everything from sharks to pomps, to ladyfish, to reds with it. Sure you'll get spooled if you get into a big king mackerel, but you would anyhow with your salmon rig, lol. Seriously, check out the park so much better then fishing any pier.
  20. Dan, you kiss pike, someone is shining down on you :)
  21. Maybe we weren't blessed with magic line like it seems some people were. To bad! lol
