  1. Looking for boat launch recommendations. Preferably at the mouth of the Thames. Appears that there are several in the area... Good bad, expensive, cheap, free? Thanks in advance!
  2. So far the forecast looks very positive for opening day on LSC: - No rain all week -Gentle wind out of the east -Mid 20's. Who's attending?
  3. Picked up some big pike last year on the east shore, just south of windemere.
  4. As I have a fair amount of equipment running I opted to install a house battery (grp 24 deep cycle) and a charging relay. This keeps the cranking battery isolated during dischage from all the accessories. When I fire up the motor, it charges both the cranking and house. My on-board smart charger does the same when I plug it in. If you need more info on this setup, please send me a PM. Cheers!
  5. Thanks everyone. I will be using them for rod holders and I'll be mounting it on the inside of the gunwale, near the top. I'll have to use well-nuts as I cannont access this area to install any type of backing.
  6. Anyone use these and what are your thoughts? Also, what mounting hardware comes with it. I'm planning on useing well nuts as my boat is fiberglass. Thanks in advance.
  7. I'm sure there's a Walmart in your area. They carry several marine batteries and if you get the Maxx model it comes with a 2 year replacement warranty with original receipt. They come in cranking and deep cycle.
  8. I'm looking for a kick-a$$ gas pressure washer. Something that delivery pressure north of 3000 psi and is easy to find parts for. I currently have a Grizzly (bought it at Rona) with a Honda engine but even the "O" rings for the wand are not standard size. Pretty frustrating and I contacted the manufacturer and he pointed me to a service centre in my area. The service centre informed me that they didn't have the O rings and i'd have to order a new wand and hose... Bull! Thanks in advance! Patrick.
  9. The private club I belong to has smallmouth in some of the ponds for the member's and guests recreation.
  10. Thanks Dan, you are correct.. they are air-lift only. Silicone makes sense for the reason you gave.
  11. I have 2 dlx captain seats on my larson and the pneumatic height adjustment. Would these be called Air-Ride seats? Once I set the height I clamp them down to make them more stable. Also, the up/down operation is quite lethargic and sticks from time to time. I'm sure its due to the lack of use. Can this be lubed/serviced? TIA.
  12. Thanks LH, that was my post and I've gone with April Marine.
  13. I'd say try the Ottawa river. Launch at Arnprior and you'll have lots of river in both directions. There's a good musky fishery in that area, concentract at the mouths of the feeder rivers. I haven't fished for bass or walleye in this area but I'm sure they are there .
  14. Just picked up a new grp 24 deep cycle that I'm installing as a house battery and I noticed that the electrolyte level was low. Is this normal for a new battery? I bought it at costco - $95 plus $10 core. Each level was about the same so I just brought it up to the appropriate level with distilled and hooked it up to the charger.
  15. Fantastic information and advise everyone. And Craig, excellent insight. I'm in the process of getting quotes now and I'll definitely be looking into the fine print. Cheers! Patrick.
  16. Just for confirmation, do you have a bulb and/or check valve on the big motor's fuel line? Mine came with neither. also, thanks for everyone's input
  17. I'm just wrapping up the installation of my new 9.9 Prokicker and I'm contemplating what to do with the fuel line. Some recommendations are to simply use a tee fitting off the main engine's line, others state that a select switch/valve is the best way to go. Has anyone on here had their dealer or manufacturer rig this for them? Would you mind sharing pictures? My current path is to tee off the main line. FYI, the main motor is a '13 merc 150 4s w/ fuel ingections. Kicker is a '15 merc 9.9 prokicker w/ carb. The kicker fuel line comes with a check valve and a priming bulb. TIA!
  18. I currently have my boat insured under my home owners policy which I believe isn't the best way to do it. What's your recommendation and why? Also, who offers the best "boat only" coverage? Thanks, Patrick.
  19. In either the GTA, Peterborough, or Kitchener areas. I need someone to install my new pro kicker. Thanks!
  20. B-O-A-T -> Bring On Anouther Thousand

  21. Thanks, that sounds like a viable option as I'm staying in Trenton. Thanks everyone for your help and commentary . Like i said in the initial post, I know it may be a bit of a sight but I have to say i've tried it at least once
  22. Thanks Bear, are you going this year?
  23. Natural sports in Kitchener has a few Premier's at last years pricing. I was also looking for a 8'6 heavy they did have a 8'6" extra heavy for the low $200's. They also have several 8'6 heavy moderate action crankbait/trolling rods in stock as well if memory serves me.. I deal with Nelson (owner). Nice guy and fair.
