  1. I agree with Akr, I've had several boats with OB chargers, both 24 and 36 volts. Each bank of the charger connects to each battery's respective +/_ regardless of the final voltage. Also, I would connect the house battery to the charger as well otherwise how is it getting charged? Regarding the state of power when charging, You can charge with the power either on or off. Most of us turn off the main power (cranking and house) and the TM batteries. There should be a circuit breaker on the positive lead to your trolling motor. On reason your 4th bank is not connected - there may be a charging relay (combiner) that automatically switches between the cranking and house. Also called a "combiner". Google this and have a look at them and their associated wiring diagrams and holler back if you need anything else. One last thing when working with DC power. The amount of energy in these batteries is huge so be very careful when connecting/disconnecting as not to short out anything. To give you an idea, household current is 15amps. Each of your batteries will be north of 650amps.
  2. Definatly worth looking into. Thanks!
  3. I doubt its a Juvy, i've seen small pike and they look nothing like this. This one was close to 30" so again, not a juvy. Very interesting. BTW, yes, both species exist in the waters I was fishing, one was the Massassauga park.
  4. I've caught 3 of these, in 3 different waters, over the last couple of year. Looks a lot darker than the "Tiger Muskie" pics i've seen online. Thoughts?
  5. yea, if its liberals, then ignore. Look what they've done here. It just boggles the mind. In germany, they also closed down all their nuke plants and are starving for power. I wouldn't use them as compass.
  6. Looks like fake news to me. Fish are by nature carnivores and cannibalistic. Lets face it, they feed on each other in the most violent ways. Too much fake news these days. Sentient? now that's funny
  7. Why keep it in the first place? If its for table fair, the smaller sizes are wayyy better eating. Eliminates the issue entirely. My opinion is that they should all fined as no doubt they were all part of it.
  8. Hey Ark, as usual you make a lot of sense. This happens to many of us and sure, we shouldn't snap a pic or weigh it but if we're careful about the time out of water, i'd say go for it. Now, maybe the pic could be prefaced with "my grandson last fall" to CYA but this is a pretty small forum so I don't think its an issue. Also, pretty hard for the MNR to come down on someone based on a pic. They should be focusing their efforts on the poachers. Case and point, I was in the long point inner bay last may and there was a ton of people fishing. Now there is a sanctuary which it appeared that they were honoring but outside of that it was game on. I mentioned to a few fishermen about the season restrictions and the location of the sanctuary and certainly got some dirty looks! Now if you ask why I was there its because I had a new boat and I was going through the break in procedure. I didn't even have a rod in the boat.
  9. I've suddenly ended up with a week off work so I'm considering getting a camp site at Restoule PP (may 21 to 24) and fishing Stormy and Clear lakes where I'll be perusing everything except muskie Anyone on here going as well? Notwithstanding the bug issue, any pointers on where to find fish? Wouldn't mind a few 'eyes or small lakers for dinner mixed in with bass/pike for fun. Cheers! P '
  10. North shore. Guests are coming from the Ottawa area.
  11. Looking to take out some clients on Lake O for some good times. Someone with a decent sized boat able to accommodate 6 guests. Any recommendations?
  12. Still available, 1st come, 1st served..lol
  13. Nice work there! I watched a couple of vids on the Seaclear wiring harnesses and it would be real easy to duplicate what they offer for less $$. I just installed a HDS 16 at the helm so now I have that, 2 HDS 12s at the bow and Active Target. I've started collecting components to do what you did ;). 6AWG front to back and Bluesea fuse blocks, and a dedicated disconnect switch. All I need now is time..lol
  14. Ordered this one, looks super strong.
  15. I did see the Chinese made ones on amazon, was hoping for something better quality as this is for my main battery which powers everything except the trolling motor.
  16. TH Marine had a nice one but now discontinued. Anyone here have these for sale? Also interested in other options (new or used). TIA< P.
  17. Yes, what are you interested in?
  18. I fish that area all the time and the fishing in the entire area was poor all of last year. No idea why except that the water level was quite a bit lower than it was in 2020 which is the last year I visited. And yes, lots of rock like the honey harbour area. All of Georgian bay is littered with rocks and shoals. You'll need to use a chart and remain vigilant until you get to know an area. Fish are in there. Huge pike, nice walleye (if you can find them), and bruiser Bass, both large and smallmouth. I always mark tons of fish along drops and deep holes. No idea what they are tho.
  19. Details: 2017 Neo, 7x14', ramp door, single axle, elec. brakes, 2 tone color (grey and black), and upper aluminum cabinets in the vee nose, stabilizer jacks, spare tire. Now the good part - only used during the summer to haul a Harley around - no snow, ice, or salt. Stored in-doors (heated shop) when not in use. Replacement value is about $13k plus taxes and fees Asking $7500.
  20. I've built and run several configs over the years and now have a Ranger bass boat w/2-12" and 1-16" graph, forward facing sonar, 2 ducers at the stern, external GPS, and I replaced all the factory wiring. One question - do you have a helm graph and what is it? This is what I recommend: Go with a Humminbird, that way you'll be able to use all the functions. The HELIX models (w/CHIRP) would be the best place to start unless you want a touch-screen. Size is important because at the bow, the graph will be located down around your feet. The Terrova has a transducer that you should utilize - make sure the graph is compatible (IE. Dual Spectrum CHIRP) etc Phone apps are not the best for operating the Terrova (they are slow and only include a few controls - or at least they did), plus you wont want to drop your phone overboard trying to use it to control the terrova! Terrova remote or the controls on the graph (if networked) are the best. Ensure that the graph has networking ability to you can connect it to your graphs, etc, either now or in the future. Depending on the bow graph you select you'll have to consider the quality of power you bring to it. The more powerful the graph, the more important this becomes. If you need any further help, PM me and i'd be more than happy to have a phone conversation on any questions you may have.
  21. Based on this its likely because someone with no idea thinks the fire can melt 2 ft of ice and someone will fall in and drown..
  22. Is snowmobiling.. well thats a bust for this year. Got back into ice fishing so back on the learning curve. Just can wait until May... come on MAY!!
  23. @CrowManYes, I recall that post, and the big smallies. I had NO idea that there were spring bass opportunities so this winter I started looking..
  24. To go with my Restoule/Stormy lake post, I've never fished for pre spawn bass but as I recently learned, there are opportunities in FMZ 10 and 11 (maybe others). I'm strictly catch and release except for Walleye, Perch, and Craps. TIA, P
