Are the people catching the Walleye unaware of the regulations or do they just not give a crap? Blows my mind. The MNR should deputize some civilians if they don't have the man-power! ?
-
I like the medium size, silver and black. Never used them on the Kawarthas but on deeper, shield type lakes for Walleye with success trolling over main lake basins.

We will never know exactly what REALLY happened that day...but one thing for sure is Stan Jonathan broke quite a few "cardinal rules" of gun handling. That I'm sure we can all agree on. I'm going to dumb things down here, and give my thoughts on what I think happened that day. Again, just my opinion. Stan shoots at what he thinks is a deer. Upon closer inspection he realizes it's a camo-clad bowhunter. Oh S---, now what? He panics and makes up some noodle-and-bull story about a "phantom buck" that he was shooting at. How could you disprove it? As far as I can tell from reading the articles no deer was ever found though, how convenient. Now I don't think we should strap Stan to the electric chair, but the idea of him walking away Scot free does not sit well with me either. I do believe this was an accident, I do believe Stan really thought he was shooting at a deer, but I also believe that he lied his way out of it all and the system made it way too easy.

Fishing with my son. (when he was 3)

Nice video! My little guy just turned 1 a few days ago....I am really looking forward to fishing with him too. -
In the end, 'probability' should have little to do with it. The bottom line is he pulled the trigger, it was his bullet that killed another human, he is ultimately responsible whether it was an accident or not. Everything else is irrelevant. Everybody needs to be accountable, especially when using firearms. But it appears to me at least, that our Government's policy trumps logic at times, so sad.

Ahhh, the JFK 'magic bullet'!!!!! Did it make a 90 degree exit out of the deer's body? The whole story sounds crazy to me, any way you slice it.
-
Granted, freak accidents do happen, and that just may be the case here...however, very possible?? I practice regularly with a rifle at 300 yards and making a 'kill shot' at that distance is no easy task. The odds of shooting at a deer, missing, and killing a person in the background at 300 yards is so miniscule, I don't buy it for a second.

I firmly believe that if it walks like a duck, and talks like a duck...colour has nothing to do with it. Trash is trash, white or not. You shouldn't getting any flack for that statement oldironmaker.

Two different sets of rules is one thing...this guy is getting away with murder, literally. Make that manslaughter.

Manitoubass, you got me thinking now. I have the "Wild TV" package on Bell. I thought it was on WFN but it could have been on the hunting channel...either way I don't see it on the air anymore, too bad. -

I forgot about that show! That was a good one! Don't understand why they dropped it, yet they keep 'Pro Tarpon Tour'...what a rodeo!?! I can't turn quick enough when that crap is on. -

I just recently upgraded to a newer, flat screen TV and HD receiver. I PVR the shows I like now and FF thought all the commercials...there's no going back now, I love it! One show that isn't on WFN anymore that I got a kick out of was 'Maximum Limit Fishing' The host was kinda crazy and his show was just a little different than all the rest, kind of refreshing. All the shows were filmed in the NWT. -

I live in KW and have Bell Fibe TV. WFN is in HD. -
Pics - wow, I don't know what to say about that article, even if only half of it is true. To be honest, I don't want to know anymore details about this story...makes my stomach turn.

Well, to say I'm pleased and surprised with this season so far (my first to boot) would be an understatement. The four maples on my property have produced 3.75L of delicious, amber coloured sap. Have one more small batch to boil I think, before the season is over. I always knew how much time was involved to make syrup but now I truly appreciate exactly how much work is involved. Looking forward to the upcoming seasons and refining my little operation!

Absolutely brutal decision if he gets off. If you can't positively ID your target don't pull the trigger, simple as that. Some things are black and white. This guy sees "something" moving at 300yards and shoots, incredibly irresponsible and his carelessness costs another man's life. Oops, I thought it was deer doesn't cut it.
-
So I'm boiling my second batch today and noticed one 5gal pail is slightly cloudy...is it still ok to use?
-
Looks like a nice day to be on the water and your little guy seems to be quite the serious fisherman!
-
I'm also getting the boat out of storage today...getting wafts of maple scent in the garage while I work - God I love spring!
-
TJ, that looks like a slick system. Rodcaster, good idea with the wire. My spiles are leaking a bit too(made the holes a bit big I think - next year will be better) so I might add some wire too.
-
So my trees have been flowing really good the last couple days here in the KW area...I've got about 80L and I started boiling today. I have no idea what I'm doing but it seems like a great way to kick off the long weekend! I'm using a burner from a Turkey fryer, seems to be working out pretty good so far.

X2 on Cyril. Really enjoy his show, he is very passionate about fishing and his enthusiasm is second to none. I like the wide range of places and species he chases. Watched one episode where he was casting from shore and caught a musky...while landing it the hooks buried themselves in his hand with the musky still on. After removing the fish/hooks from his hand he was still grinning from ear to ear, he is a die hard.

I love my dog, great fishing partner and all round friend!
Beavertail replied to limeyangler's topic in General Discussion
Yup, it doesn't get much better...unconditional devotion and enthusiasm. My life definitely wouldn't be the same without my little beagle...I dread the day I have to say good-bye to my little hunting buddy. I don't take her fishing with me too often but she's done some back country camping trips and she was great, even in the canoe. -
Question for the Hyunadi and KIA drivers launching boats
Beavertail replied to tb4me's topic in General Discussion
Some Hyundai/Kia vehicles have a tow rating of 3500lbs BUT only with trailer brakes...stopping shouldn't be an issue if you heed the owners manual's guidelines. Without brakes it drops down considerably, I want to say around 1600lbs?
