Tuesday afternoon fished from 1 p.m until dark and put on a show landing 4 gorgeous hens and losing 3 other fish. It sure was fun seeing everyone standing there since first light and not catching anything and I come down and start hammering into them haha sure is funny! Thursday morning fished the mouth of the river that everyone else already knows of before i mentioned it on here. and smacked into 3 nice males bout 5 or 6 pounds each. My buddy landed a nice male resident brown as well bout 5 or 6 pounds again. Don't worry guys pics are on there way in a day or two.

like I said the ones underneath of logs and what not will bite if you can get your bait in front of them
-
well there still is a couple swimming around in creeks but they won't bite! but hey! you can always snag, spear, net, bonk, lay a fence across the water and chase them into shallow water so that they can't swim any farther.....haha kidding guys.... but just some of the things i've seen done before.... good luck out there! Hawk

Wednesday morning went 4 for 5 water was really low and clear which made fishing tough, the ones in the main holes weren't as active as they could see you but I landed one at first light, so I moved downstream and fished under a tree and hooked into 4 there and this big male was the last to come out of there. I figure he weighed around 10 pounds he was really fat but the pic don't show it that well. That is the tree I hooked him under in the top left and man what a bleep! it was to get him to come out from under there he musta went under there 6 or 7 times and each time I miraculously pulled him out. Definately a fight to remember http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd148/c...wk11/10lber.jpg http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd148/c...0lbercloser.jpg Hawk

If salmon is done ... where to go for trout/steelhead?
chickenhawk replied to a topic in General Discussion
haha good luck just as a heads up most steelhead fishermen won't tell you where to go......jus in the rivers that hold salmon well there ought to be some trout in there.....go get em Hawk -
1) BC- Bow river or Fraiser River for steelhead 2) Knee Lake Lodge- Monster Pike, walleye and sea run brookies 3) Yukon for sockeye salmon 4) Long Point Bay for smallmouth bass lol gotta love the bay 5) Florida- largemouth bass

Wednesday between 4 of us we landed 21 steelhead and my buddy Brad landed 10 to himself. Friday my buddy Brad landed 8 fish while I landed 2 for 6. Been having a tough time keeping the fish on the hook the last couple of outings but I am going to try again Sunday morning, hopefully before the crowd shows up.

yeah i've seen something like that except the fish were in a hole and hungry! And we had it ALLLLLLLLLL to ourselves....muahahaha

You don't even need a drift boat. Some spots you can spend all day at. Just walk there is always fish in the holes, try the falls, trailer park anywhere in that area you can catch a consistant amount of fish! And if you go 15 minutes up the road to Port Albert, the Nine Mile river is a gorgeous river but alot smaller than the maitland, most fish are around the mouth of the Nine Mile this time of year. Anyways, hope this helps, Good Luck! Hawk

Well to start on Wednesday between 4 of us we landed 21 steelhead. Took the day off today haha. Anyways, here are a few pictures of a couple that I caught on Monday, there is more pictures but they are on my buddies camera so it will be a little while before I get ahold of them. This is one I took at first light. Solid 4-5 pound fish! Pretty female fish! http://i224.photobucket.com/albums/dd148/c...11/102_2239.jpg We really didn't start catching fish that day till about noon, I caught 2 at first light and from there it was pretty slow until noon and we could see them sitting in the hole. We tried everything and then we finally found out what they wanted. We ended up with 11 between 2 of us, plus another guy came down and decided to stand right over top of the fish we were drifting our bait down to so after that they got pretty spooked but anyways was nice to be the only ones catching fish while everyone else was standing around scratching their heads haha. Anyways going Friday morning to beat the weekend crowd. Good luck everyone! Hawk
