  1. Do not get me wrong fellas I am Pro-Hunter, and I believe taking a moose is far better then the commercial drug induced beef we pass down our gullets daily... But some good points have been raised.. It would spark discussion, but would that discussion be positive in nature? Education.. all living things die, many at the hands of man. but does that make it right to have a moose head strapped to your ATV with its tongue waving in the wind as you drive 130km per hour down the Hwy? Perhaps I used the wrong term in the title of this thread.. instead of ethics I should have used "In Good Taste" Dawg, what does my boat have to do with this thread? I am confused (Does not take much I know) G
  2. Good point you have there Raf. Perhaps Porky is off to a free range organic farm?
  3. We did??? Dang.. We better get the Google thing-a-mah-jig installed soon!! I miss beating dead horses... Want to see the monster Pike my buddy caught on Lake Simcoe? LOL! Made for a funny trip home though!! G
  4. I use a plain old Kraft Tube.. dirt cheap and effective
  5. Today on the commute from work, travelling down the 407 I saw the usual drivers toting boats, ATV's etc... This time however there was something added as a bonus.. Moose carcass's.. Yup right out in full view.., no attempt to cover the animal was made.. Antlers, faces.. all in full view for passing motorists.. there was more then one vehicle involved in the procession as well.... One fellow had the head of his kill strapped to the back rack of his ATV... While I myself have zero issue with the site of a dead moose.. (mmmmm Moooooooooose) I wonder... do we invite attacks from the anti's based upon this type behaviour? Do the sissies in Toronto want to see such a thing? would the proper thing to do have included tarping the animal so as to not bother those with weak stomachs? It was comical looking at the faces of other motorists to saw the least as they passed these fellows.. Tell me your thoughts on this subject.. G

  20. Please take zero offence to this... Being in the business myself we also call this pricing yourself out of the job.. alot of contractors do this if they are busy hoping that the client does not sign on the bottom line as they have larger contracts on the go.... and well if they do agree to the stipulated price?... GRAVY.. Also be advised.. there is differences in materials used.. IE.. Premium tight knot cedar, Vs. Clear Cedar for instance.. Select PT etc etc etc... Look over EVERY line item.. including time frames, materials used, length of service and warranty... Those that are the best in what they do.. get paid a premium for it as in any business... just another way to look at this situation. G

This is not my first lab, I grew up caring for them... and I chose him because he had a "Box like head" much like his father who in my eyes was stout and strong... Hunter was the largest in the litter too I should add.. I picked up a crate today from Albert (Hometownhandyman) what a great guy he is! I just wish I had alot more time to chat with him... Soon enough eh Albert? Thanks to everyone for their comments. G
