I took a look at Facebook when I first heard about it and it looked like a cyber "house of ill-repute". Ol' Yeller would soooo kick my ass if she ever caught me at a place like that... so I'll just stay where I'm at. (those headbutts are brutal I tell ya!!!)

Uh-huh!!!... What goes around comes around eh Big Boy? I told you you should have eaten that first Radioactive Brainwave fish a couple of weeks ago, and now it has infected the others!!! Don't bother futzin with the camera settings, build yourself a lead lined box to keep the camera in!!! Don'tcha just hate mediocre pics of excellent fish? There could be another explanation for the pics though... Bly was letting you pose with her fish (we all know it happens) and the guilt of it all made her twitch when she took the pic! (and we all know she never gets skunked!) Anyway, it looks like y'all had a good time last night... and good job on the fish!!!

kemper's trout jigs! (check page two for rabbit jigs!)

Great lookin jigs Kemper! What weight heads? and hook size? -
I don't care for commercial batters or mixes. I prefer my fish rinsed patted dry with a paper towel and dredged in a seasoned flour made from all purpose flour, garlic salt, and black pepper. Ol Yeller makes a pretty mean fried fillet with patted dry fillets dipped in beaten egg and then rolled in Progresso Italian seasoned bread crumbs!

Did your drivers license exam actually teach you about operating a car?... mine didn't, sure I had to take the driving test the first time to see if I knew how to operate a vehicle... but they didn't teach me! It's the same thing Gerritt, mainly to educate you about the laws!

Our vessel operators license has been mandatory since '98 here, it is designated on our drivers license with a class:V (for vessel). I don't think it's a cash grab at all, they do it to educate!... if you had to study for the test or missed any of the questions... you didn't know as much as you thought you did!!! Our test consists of 60 questions and a passing grade is 80%... I did have to study for it and I did learn a few things. It is not a bad thing!

Does this qualify as sick to you? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dysentery Had it when I was 12 and spent 4 days in the hospital.

I don't kiss them, but they do get the privilege of having their pic taken with me!

I think we've all done just about all those things Harry, the best thing you can do is learn from your mistakes. If someone is having problems I have no qualms about walking up to them and asking if they need help in a friendly manner... I remember when it was me in their position. Hollering instructions from afar will embarrass and agitate folks, it's best to be civil and well mannered. The ones that irritate me are the ones that fiddle fart around with no consideration for others... waiting to take tie downs off at the ramp and loading gear in the boat at the ramp. My best folly was at a launch in the winter with noone around (Thank You Lord!) I was pushing the boat off the trailer and had hopped up on the bow... but in mid hop my jacket hung up on the trolling motor skag, so there I was... hangin' half on half off the bow of the boat and couldn't move with nobody around, the water was about 45*F so dropping off for a swim was out of the question. So I started the painstakingly slow procedure of wriggling out of my jacket... kinda like a demented snake tryin to shed it's not so ready skin, and all the while the boat is drifting further from the launch and the truck is sitting running on the ramp. I finally freed myself from my imprisoning garmet and got the boat back to the dock. I'm just glad nobody saw me!!! Now I always check for loose clothing before pushing the boat off the trailer.

Lights out for the "greeners" in 4 minutes!!!

Yup! It was my first one... tillers are kinda like "training wheels" for boats eh?

You may want to consider wearing a hardhat, full faceshield, and chest protector when you go to remove that thing Connie... if you ever get a cow.

I always used to like to follow the pulling of the plug with a nice loud "OMG!!! I Hope We Don't Sink!!! and then show them the plug if they weren't paying attention
-
The window gets rolled up while pulling up the ramp to the parking place... Hoghead!
-
If you have a "tinny" with an internal plug you can easily reach, you can pull the plug while the boat is in gear and in forward motin and all the water will drain out. I used to get a lot of disturbed looks whenever I'd do this with somebody not familiar to the procedure in the boat when I had my first leaker/tiller/tinny.

I'm glad you asked this question Danbouck! There are as many ways to launch as there are people to tell you how, but only a handful of them are efficient! I personally back my trailer down the ramp and just far enough into the water so that stern of the boat just barely floats off the bunks but is still cradled loosely inbetween the drive-on guides. I put the truck in PARK and apply the PARKING BRAKE! The truck is always left running with the drivers side window down in any weather (can't lock the keys in the truck this way). The back tires of the truck will be right at the waters edge, so when I hop out of the truck I hop up onto the drivers side rear tire and into the bed of the truck... then out the back of the bed and down onto the tongue of the trailer where I unhook the safety cable and winch strap, give a little push while walking the tongue (about 2 feet) then hop in the boat on the bow. As soon as the bow clears the rear of the trailer the trolling motor is deployed and I make my way over the dock in high gear tie the boat to the dock hop out and trot back over to the truck to pull up into a parking place. Truck is parked and locked, I walk back to the dock, castoff and motor away from the launch area with the trolling motor. Once the boat is far enough away from the launch and dock I start the big motor and make any minor preparations if need be. To me, this is the second fastest way I know to launch a boat with the dump and run (2 person) being the first. I always launch by myself so this is the fastest way for me. The launch rope method is a good and very popular method but can be aggravating in windy conditions and it takes a little longer. Some folks like to power the boat off the trailer with the big motor, I'm not partial to this method, if the motor is hard to crank it will take too much time and hold others up. If the trailer isn't far enough back in the water you can fill your bilge with reverse gear propwash (I've seen that one and still get a chuckle when I remember it )

Ah yes!... the boat launch Bozo's, I know them well. The hilarities and aggravation will never end!

I was actually talkin' about the board twi... and Ol' Yeller said if I was going to give out that info, to be sure to give you my new address which would be under the I 20/Hwy. 78 overpass... 3rd bedroll from the center abutment. Which is pretty scarey, but not nearly as scarey as the fat that's she' 6'-4" 325 lbs. of solid muscle and a Kung Fu master with a forehead of solid scar tissue from breaking concrete blocks with headbutts... and for some reason I've never really wanted to piss her off.

It doesn't go away, it just gets bigger and better!
