  1. Great Pictures Mike..I think I must have spoke to almost everyone of those kids at some time or other throughout the day. MCI is already on board for next year, glad we could help, I know all our guys had a good time doing it. Tom.
  2. PM me sometime this summer and I will get you out on Pigeon. I am no expert but I have caught a few. Tom.
  3. Sage advise from LipDip, and a number of others, including "Believer Ron". Leave the gaf at home unless you are experienced enough to use it without killing the fish. (very few are). Tom.
  4. Mike and Ron. The next time we have a meeting like that I won't forget my white sheet..... only it would be a moose with a mask over it's face to hide it's identity or something Canadian.....What an impression he must have made to council. Like I said yesterday I don't believe a lobby group like this should be allowed to dictate change to the newley established regulations, and try to get "THEIR LAKE" designated a SPECIAL FISHERY. They had their opportunity to have their say at the FMZ17 council meetings. If it happens here it could spread to other greedy lobbyists in other Kawartha lakes associations. It has only been 4 months since the regulation changes came into effect. If it had of been me owning a resort on the lake, or any lake on the Kawarthas for that matter, I would have been ready for the hard water season and embracing the changes as a new business venture. Keep us advised boys and you can always count on my support. Tom.
  5. Howdy Neighbor!!! The only noise I hear most nights comes from the stars lighting up. Enjoy it Lew,....... and you will get used to the dark also, another bonus.
  6. Hey Rich; Shouldn't your signature have an "I" in front of it? That is the name of the tune played after the Canadian anthem is played..... Hope I hear it just one more time. I BELIEVE Just kidding ya Tom.
  7. If only we can get the American Hockey team to concede as easily Jonny....... I will talk to you later Ron. Call me at night OK.
  8. Ron and Mike; I figure if I show up also, that will equal two voices to the RLCA members one voice... I will be there.... Tom.
  9. Just a preliminary report from Bridgenorth. Mike Brown and the rest of the organizers deserve a huge PAT on the back and an ATTA BOY for a job well done and what looked like a huge success. I will let Mike provide details of numbers of participants and fish caught but it was a great day on the ice for all. I am sure he has a load of pictures. I did not see one frown all day. Tom.
  10. fish-miester you are correct... At this time we believe that the Pike are only in as far as Balsam and Canal on the west end of the system. There have been reports of Pike caught at Percys Reach on the east end. Our initiatives are to try and determine how well established the Northern Pike are in these areas. Our studies will hopefully lead us to a happy solution to this problem. Tom McCutcheon Release Director Kawartha Lakes Chapter Muskies Canada
  11. Hey Mike, great work on your part putting this together. Your jumper is only going in to place a chum bucket for you for the 13th.. We got two going in from the Kawartha Chapter of Muskies Canada. See you on Tuesday night. Tom.
  12. If I don't see you before then Lew, I will just look for the house with all the new empty Leon,s boxes out front... Tom.
  13. Does anyone know if Lew has moved into his new digs yet? I know it was supposed to be around early to mid February. I was thinking of taking a drive over and welcoming him to the neighborhood. Tom.
  14. You could try Cedar Village Pickeral River Marina at http://www.cvprm.com/ They are located on the Pickeral river just off of #69 highway, and have house keeping cabins or motel rooms. Boat launch and docking is right there also. Restaurant with excellent food. I have stayed there several times over the last 4 or 5 years. Lots of water to fish close by and you can boat all the way down to the Lower French. Combine the two. Although you would need more than three days to fish just the Pickeral. Good luck.
  15. The last time I fished it was in the 80's when a man named John Cameron was the owner. It is a great lake. About 29 miles from the camp to the far end of the lake with lots of bays and islands to fish. Como Creek was the hot spot near (2 or 3 miles) the camp for pike and walleye as well as Grassie Falls. There are a couple of small lakes that you can get into if the water is down low enough to get undr the RR tressle as well as a portage into another. Make sure you take a GPS to mark your trail, very easy to get lost coming back to camp in the dark. The farther end of the lake widens out and is quite deep and holds lake trout as well as walleye and pike and whitefish. There also was an outpost cabin here with propane fridge and stove. Good luck if you go and please let us know how you made out. I would be interested to hear if it is still a great fishery. Tom.
  16. You got me too Ron, for the first two lines then I knew something was up!!!! I heard you were looking for the Coburg Franchise. Tom.
  17. Only 4 posts in a little under a year. Thanks for your amazing input Fluff. Tom.
  18. Don't you just love it when a plan comes together..... Keep at it Jer.
  19. Where abouts on Pigeon are you located? I am on a small bay south of the Gannon Narrows and our normal 4 to 5 feet of water is now down to 2 to 3. If you have a GPS with you, you still should be able to find the deeper holes (8 to 10 feet) in the south end of the lake.
  20. Don't want to hi jack this thread but, is Bud still there Jer? The last time I saw him was just after he had his heart problems. That would have been 2 or 3 years ago. Dito, great service in our own backyard... Tom.
  21. Temagami, Sudbury, Kapuskasing areas would all be in the 6 to 14 hr range. Maybe check with a snowmobile club website....just a thought. Good luck and take lots of pics.......
  22. According todays Peterborough Examiner, somebody thought they could drive all over the place on Chemong on Sunday. The ice is in good shape in most spots with 10 to 12 inches of ice, however there is a Jeep Cherokee stuck in 3 to 4 feet of water near Fifes Bay and another guy and his young daughter tried going under the Causeway bridge on his ATV. The jeep is still visable but the ATV sunk. Everyone is alright and now thinking different. Be safe everyone. Tom.
  23. "HEY BUDDY, THAT THING GOT A HEMI IN IT?" When are you and Lew racing for pinks? Nice ride, I too like the colour. Tom
  24. Lew, I just hauled a 150 out of the ditch in front of my place. He was in 4 wheel but it wasn't locking up. Tried everything until I hooked on a pulled him out with my Dakota!!!! HA HA HA. Nice rig. Congratulations.. Tom.
