This video tries to capture that feeling that we get when we are in the zone (fishing) .... what an awesome well done video brings a tear to my eye ... LOL

thanks guys I'll give that a try, ... being late in the season ..wasn't sure what to throw ... if you still use the same tactics as at the beginning of ice over

we may try a stocked backcountry brookie lake up in the gravenhurst area this saturday ... depending on ice conditions just wondering what would be a decent go to lure for ice fishing for brookies ... since there are no shiners left anywhere around here was thinking perhaps a simple worm and hook, or jigging with a small williams or egb any other suggestions ... Thanks

That was the best,,,,,,, Well done CANADA !!!!!!!!!!!! That was an amazing end to the Olympics .... a lot of national pride .... awesome to see -
I have the ice 45 and it's phenomenal ... mailed into Hbird and got a free carry bag as well gotta agree the zoom feature is awesome, the night display really makes it easy on the eyes as well my buddy has the vex fl8 and he likes the Hbird better ... I guess any decent flasher will increase your odds but the simplicity and ease of use on these units is great

thanks .... that is what i was looking for, do you have a picture of your setup with the seats ?

I bought this boat late last year, and want to put in 2 padded swivel seats for the upcoming season, 1 in the stern and 1 on the middle bench none of the tops are removable except the battery compartment the middle bench should not be a problem but I am wondering what i should do at the back ... the small box compartment at the back is designed for a battery but can be used for other things as well not sure how to mount a seat due to that battery compartment ... does anyone have this boat or any suggestions ? I would also like to mount a trolling motor , I have read that the bow is better but if I am at the stern fishing alone then I assume thats where it should go ... is this a better placement ? thanks for any tips !

ITALIAN SECRET TO A LONG MARRIAGE At New York's Saint Rocco's Catholic Church they have a weekly husband's marriage seminar. At the session last week, the Priest asked Luigi, who was approaching his 50th wedding anniversary, to take a few minutes & share some insight into how he had managed to stay married to the same woman all these years. Luigi replied to the assembled husbands, "Wella, I've a-tried to treat-a her nicea, spenda da money on her, but besta of alla is that I tooka her to Italy for the 25th anniversary!" The Priest responded, "Luigi, you are an amazing inspiration to all the husbands here! Please tell us what you are planning for your wife for your 50th anniversary." Luigi proudly replied, "I'm agonna go get her!" ______________________________________________________

Well, seems like the numbers that the Loafs are on the hook for now is pretty big; A 7 million dollar goaltender ???? he better put up some wins !!! he's only got 4 this year ... Excerpt taken from SLAM Sports The moves also give Toronto a pair of big-salary players. Phaneuf earns $6.5 million this year - the second of a $39-million, six-year pact - while Giguere will make $6 million this season and $7 million in 2010-11. Sjostrom is at $750,000. Asked about the salary cap situation, Burke said it was manageable. "At the end of the day, with this trade I think we end up pretty close to where we were," said Burke. Hagman makes $3 million, Stajan $1.75 million, Mayers $1.4 million and White $950,000. Stajan and Mayers are unrestricted free agents on July 1, while White will be a restricted free agent. Blake has two years left on a $20-million, five-year deal. He'll make $3 million next season. http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Hockey/NHL/Toron...2685511-cp.html

not sure what impact we are going to see from the other new additions but here is Giguere's stats for the last few seasons .... 2005-2006 DUCKS 60 30 15 2006-2007 DUCKS 56 36 10 2007-2008 DUCKS 58 35 17 2008-2009 DUCKS 46 19 18 2009-2010 DUCKS 20 4 8 the 3 columns are Games Played , Wins , Losses .... 06 and 07 looked pretty good but 08 and this year don't look that great ... and this year looks like Anaheim has given up on him ....is he supposed to be the Leafs new #1 or a backup to Gustavvson ? I don't get it ...
-
The Flames have dealt Dion Phaneuf, Fredrik Sjostrom and Keith Aulie to Leafs for Matt Stajan, Niklas Hagman, Jamal Mayers and Ian White. All right all the armchair analysts out there ... the crap just hit the fan in Leaf world .... let the discussion begin .... Good or Bad ? Not sure what the results will be yet !! no details on draft picks or cost !!! I also heard Giguere for Toskala

My buddy has a cottage on Kennisis and we usually have no problem catching lots of bass, if you are looking for lakers in the summer I suggest trolling deep down the centre of the lake ... a fishfinder will really help locating the holes ... we have had some luck but not great for lakers.
-
Thanks for the info .... I have not yet had a break off at the hole .. but I will look into a different brand of Fluoro and compare it. As a rule of thumb if you are using for example 10 lb braid what strength fluoro carbon leader should you use ? is there a ratio for this type of setup ?
-
I didn't want to hijack the other post about flurocarbon that was not related to ice fishing. So thought I would post this question here. I usually carry 3 rods for ice fishing , 1 with 5 lb power pro and fluoro leader, 1 straight 6lb mono and 1 with a blue colored ice line (came with the reel). When targeting lakers or whitefish do you always use a fluoro leader ? If so I have read that Berkley vanish is not recommended ... I actually bought some a while back and now wondering if i should replace it with Seaguar, I havn't lost any fish due to the Vanish so just wondering what the issues are with it.
-
Great report and pics Ben .... looks like the white tubes were working .... and those walleye are beauties is the ice 45 helping out locating the fish ? I have been field testing mine and am certainly impressed so far ....
-
way to go Simon ... LOL with that thread title you're going to get a lot of views on this one

We did the tenting thing as a family for years until we got fed up of dealing with torrential rains in a tent. So we did our research and bought a Coleman tent trailer "Seapine" model.. best money I ever spent. We toured all over Central Ontario to most Provincial Parks as a family. Excellent quality , we used it for several years and just sold it 2 months ago for half of what i bought it for. So I think for what i spent we got our moneys worth ... now the kids are in a different phase of their lives so less time spent camping. I wouldn't think twice about buying new ... if you take care of it ... you should have no problem selling it. BTW Coleman's really hold their value better. My friend will be selling his this spring ... I know there are people waiting to get alook at it when the weather warms up.
