  1. If you carry a 0 balance month to month you will not pay any interest. With careful shopping and a good credit score no fees is very possible from all of the major credit card companies. I can run 8-10 thousand thru my credit card from the business and personal purchases a month and reap the rewards from it. Using credit is not a crime it in fact is beneficial in this world we live in. The abuse of credit can ruin your life quickly though. When you are making a major purchase IE a car, boat or house the stronger your credit is the cheaper the rate is to borrow money. This in itself can save you more than most credit card give backs you can find.

  2. If I had my way alcohol as well as any recreational mind altering product would be dispensed with a license like and or some form of proof you can handle it. This is an unrealistic view and expectation that we will never see. Truth is I don't have the correct answer nor so far on the thread have I see a way out of this mess. Maybe keeping it illegal and closing our eyes as we have in the past is the answer for pot. Allowing another mind altering substance does not seem the answer either. So far alcohol. tobacco and firearms have been allowed out of the box and look at the detrimental effects it has had on society. We have a whole division of the government allocated to controlling the abuses of these products.

  3. The simple formula is this burn more calories than you take in. If you plan on eating something that is loaded with calories then you exercise before your splurge on calories. Some bodies are comfortable on 2000 calories per day other need more. it really depends on how active you are. The easiest thing to do is to drink a large glass of water before you eat the first bite of any meal. This gives you less room to fill and it also will help digest food properly.

  4. My post got deleted on a public forum so..... Thought this was a fishing forum about fishing and your commenting about video taping a co on your go pro...? Doing his job? Like I said need to get a life dude. How about telling us how the bite is? What's biting? Ice report? Colour of the Swedish pimple? Use your go pro to post some pics and maybe a vid of the action. Maybe you didn't have enough time... Get some guys fired up for the ice season. I don't know, your talking about go proing a co. Really?

Guys like you are the first to whine and complain when you see someone keeping too many fish or fishing for whatever out of season and asking where is a co when you need one.

    Who runs this forum anyway?

I do if you don't like the way we run it you are free to leave. We have a broad lateral on topics if it says NF it stands for NOT FISHING. If you read the rules you will see why it was deleted. If you have an issue contact one of the owners my PM is always open.

  5. The chilling of the water to 1C or 2C will allow it to dehumidify as the wet air is drawn across the coil which has refrigeration condenses and then drips off into a catch bin. If you take the coils and cool them off to 0C then you will freeze the water on the coil rendering it useless it would insulate itself and no longer remove moisture from the air.

  6. I bet that American tourists travel the 407 free.

I have yet to get a bill from the 407 when I travel up North driving USA Virginia with front and rear plates on truck and trailer. The plate is fairly low and the Ranger does hang a little off the back. I use a Fast Tool that reads when I come across the boarder though and it gets a charge.

  7. One of the issues we have when using a sump pump to discharge water distances is the head pressure ( amount of water it can move decreases as the distance is lengthened) as well as ground temperatures freezing water in pipes that have a negative pitch. Keep both factors in mind as you design your system. The claim of your dehumidifier company is exaggerated they can not get 6 times more water out of the air unless they are using around 6 times the energy. The process of dehumidification is the chilling of a coil slightly above 0 C to collect moisture and send it down the drain. Cooler coils will only freeze the water and make the coil useless. ( think glass of ice water in summer)

  8. or you could just get an ecodiesel ram and have 420 lb-ft @ 2000 rpms at the crank & get 28mpg on the hwy to boot. ;)

the other thing I've noticed in the two years of owning my diesel grand cherokee (mercedes motor not the vm motori in the ram) is how easier than a gasser this thing tows. By that I mean, loaded vs unloaded the difference in mpg is a lot smaller then in my v8 GC and, having peak torque right around hwy cruising rpms means no downshifts and power 'right there'.

i know the cost to fill with diesel is typically more expensive down south but for us here it's about equal to gas when you look at it over 12 months. personally, i'm sold on diesel power for trucks/hauling. stick that ecoboost in a mustang then we're talking.

but yes, the f150 is still a really nice truck.

I ran diesel for 10 years without any issues the mileage was around 22 mpg while the gas is only 16. The hit we take on the price of diesel is harsh some times as high as 60 cents a gallon. Either way you go boosting is the technology that I think is the answer to getting the most out of your fuel dollar. People still remember the days where turbos were brass bushing and poorly balanced things that blew up frequently. The turbos of today are just about bullet proof and I have found people are replacing transmissions before their turbos have any issue. The secret to any mechanical item is to keep it maintained, lubricated and heat is the enemy. It is not to say the 5.0 is not a nice motor it is in my mind only 2nd because of the fine job Ford did building and designing the eco boost. I have worked on 5.0 and the power and performance we used to unlock was awesome.

  9. The 5.0 is no longer sold here in the states only the 3.7 or the 3.5 eco boost. I personal find the eco boost more than enough power and the torque curve is way better than any normally aspirated motor. I now own 2 eco boost 3.5s one is the truck and the other is the Transit van. Watch for the new Raptor The 2017 is powered by an all-new high-output 3.5L EcoBoost® engine. This new engine gives the 2017 Raptor more horsepower and torque than the previous 411-horsepower, 434-lb-ft 6.2L V8 in the Raptor.

The 2012 eco boost is 365 horsepower and 420 lb-ft of torque, besting Ford's 5.0-liter V8 (360 hp, 380 lb-ft) on both counts. But what really sets the EcoBoost apart is that all 420 lb-ft are available from just 2,500 rpm,

Looking at the numbers the potential of the eco boost tuned is going to be a force to be reconned with in the light bodied mustangs as well as the aluminum trucks.

This means better towing as well as acceleration when you want it.

  10. Ford F-150: Buyers who go for the 2.7-liter EcoBoost engine on the 2015 version of Ford’s best-selling pickup get a special auto stop-start feature that’s a little different than others out there. Like other systems, this one automatically shuts off the engine as a fuel saver when the vehicle is stopped, but not when the vehicle is towing something or when it’s in four-wheel drive. Without that feature, the tech could prove frustrating for pickup drivers who are hauling something in the rear or are inching along stop-and-go on bumpy or muddy terrain. During all other driving situations, “The engine restarts in milliseconds when the brake is released,” Ford promises.

    Cut and pasted.

There's lots of stories of accidental shootings, like a 3 year old accidentally shooting mom. Not so many stories of armed citizens gunning down bad dudes or terrorists.

The media does not report near as many accidents from other reasons such as a middle age child killed after falling off the monkey bars. The gun shooting is a story that sells while the kid who fell is just a accident. The amount of time where the situation presents itself to step up and be the hero and save the public guns a blazing is very rare compared to the number of other ways people die. I still contend that a gun is a tool that when cared for , put away and used properly it will rust into scrape before it does anything bad.

  12. We have access to handguns and assault rifles. They are classed as restricted firearms, which you must take a firearms safety course,as well as a lengthy background check. There are no CCW permits up here, only LEO's and armored truck personel are allowed to carry.Restricted firearms must be trigger locked and kept in a locked case/ or gun safe at all times. You transport your locked cases to the range, have some fun, then they get transported back home. Our pistol magazines are restricted to 10 rounds max,all rifles 5 rounds max.

Thanks for the info. I did not know about the handgun assault rifle restrictions I though it was though shalt not have situation.

  13. Our constitution stresses peace, order, and good governance. We don't hope, we do, within a certain unwritten code. Politeness first, and you see that even in the toughest looking guys. It's funny sometimes at a coffee shop as the bikers hold the door for you. Being a Dick first just doesn't work up here. Donald Trump wouldn't fly up here. That massive collective housing fraud wouldn't work up here like it did down south.

The group vrs the individual. Americans have had cause to be fearful way back when but then it became a personality trait. You can't trust this and you can't trust them. Every man for himself with their weapons cache. Frankly it sounds nuts to me, at the first sign of real trouble you will all be shooting each other. I'd be moving to Canada if I were you...and we will take you. Your welcome. :)

It is a mindset for sure and Canadian mindset is something I envy and I wish it would work down here. The difference is the USA was not given independence we fought for it and won. We then wrote the Constitution and gave citizens certain rights to prevent a government from becoming a sole controlling force. Now with this time and society changed and we added rights to it and we blended them into the current laws governing the people.

You have to take with a grain of salt what you are fed as facts up North some of the views I have read are way out of bounds and are expressed by people who have not ever visited the United States. I have been to Canada quite a few times but I only get a small snapshot of what life up North is because i visit the same 4 or 5 places every time. The same goes for down here we have places where you can shoot your guns out back and 10 miles away you can't even shoot a BB gun. We have places where you will not find 10 guns per 1000 people and others where you will find collections of guns that would make the police look like they have nothing.

I am not scared by guns I have been trained to use them in the Sea Bees as well as in civilian life. I have yet to have some one draw a gun on me after my time in the service so it is not the wild threat that some are lead to believe. I also know that a day in the public I will pass by at least 20 people who have a concealed weapon and it is comforting to me. Crime needs victims and if you do not know who is armed and who is not you will have less opportunistic crimes. The ability to bear arms is part of a checks and balance that we rely on to feel safe as well as preserve a delicate balance that is not part of Canadian culture. I can sum it up with a meme I saw in the past it was someone had written in wet concrete "sorry for vandalizing your concrete" it instantly popped into my mind somewhere up in Canada before I read the next line that said " Canadian gang signs" . This is not bad it just showed me that mind sets of different cultures make us each look at things differently. When I am up North I get to fish and philosophy with some really great minds and it is refreshing to get views that I am culturally blind too.

  14. I have politely asked for people to not slam each other but it seems that is to hard for some. If you all get winternet going to early and I get fed up with babysitting hot topics that are not fishing related i will just lock them when they go wrong. The General discussion is for most all of the topics we see if it is labeled NF and if you are here for Fishing only then don't open them simple. It avoids the owners here from having to move them and then getting PMs on why we moved the topics. We like to keep it polite and simple around here please help us as best you can.

    Thanks

Guns don't kill people, people kill people. Hmmm...must be something in the water down south. :whistling:

While simplistic it is a true statement. The first thing you have to deal with is the bad guys have guns and will not be the ones turning them in if they become illegal. Pandoras box is open you can not close the lid so what works for Canada will never work in the USA. Personally i am glad Canada does not have access to handguns or assault rifles your culture would become more violent and mirror the path our culture has taken. You meaning most people of Canadian culture will not understand the dynamics going on down here. I am good with that it is one of the things I like about Up North people who still have the ability to have hope for a gentler world to live in. Funny thing is if you read Pandoras box once the evil was released inside the box was a small nugget left behind and it was called Hope. I think that nugget can be called Canada too.
