  1. No we don't have the Canadian Tire stores here but I think the funny money they hand out might be worth more than the US. dollar sometimes. Cliff Your application did get to the final 3 though I need to make a decision soon but solopaddler did say " please don't disown me I will be good and pay you a thousand dollars a month and name my next born Art" well actually what he really said was " " but I know what he meant. If Pete and Roy don't step up to the plate soon I am going to post a few pictures of their fine examples of Baits for them. I hope they will share I really like the look of them. Art
  2. Peter great to see you around I've missed yaaa. On another subject UMMMM isn't their something you forgot to shown us. Hope you get a chance to come to Lak Air this year. Art
  3. Does this mean we arn't brothers any more? That makes me alittle sad. I guess I will be accepting applications for a new brother/ sister since I am an equal opportunity family. Art
  4. One of the things that makes shipping cost more is that it is shipped to a foreign country although we are neighbors. The difference between calling UPS for a package to be picked up and shipped in the same country versus going to the post office wait in line for 1/2 hour and fill out 2 forms then drive back to the office is a huge amount of manpower. If the UPS option is chosen then the price and the broker make it not profitable. When ever you break out of the standard method of doing business then it will cost more....After all when it all comes down to it... profit is needed to make a living. If it helps any when I purchase from Canada it cost me more to get it shipped than it cost you. Art
  5. you mean you saw thru the eye switch ? and I thought I was sooooooo clever. Art
  6. Here is a lure I made a little bit ago but haven't water tested it. It might just spin in circles if so it will go back on the console of the big boat.
  7. O.K. T.J. you are 1 for 2 lets see if you can be 2 for 3 with the Russians tonight. Go Canada. Art
  8. The split grip lets you feel the rod blank without the cork. We use them when worm fishing or jigging so you can feel the pickup or what the bottom is doing. Spooled with power pro I have seen people call out rocks, branches and even what the bottom is made of correctly. It's a good tool if you are one of the gifted people. Art
  9. Let me guess your going to blame it on the cold water right.... Art
  10. O.K. how much did T.J. pay you for this. I guess he couldn't take the heat if it becomes #3 in his apologies. Art
  11. OOOO T.J. didn't you have a big enough toe sandwich on your other apology???? Good thing we love yaa bud. Art
  12. You will be fine with the saltwater I fish fresh/brackish and saltwater with my equipment and hose them off after the trip. I don't submerge them in water unless I submerged them in salt water though. Once in awhile I remove the covers and check the grease/oil for water (white and waxie) and clean and lube as needed. Dont forget to rinse the line spool assembly well it is were the saltwater hides and it will corrode the line pickup or guide on the reel. Art
  13. Thats funny I am going to chalk it up to someone who just jumped to the wrong conclusion because of the ice fever and forget about it. I guess I should be flattered now that I think about it my hand made lure looks just like the real thing. Have a good day xeron and I wish you well. Art
  14. Bondar and Kinger those are some nice jigs... I haven't been able to tie a good jighead it seems the hair is always lop sided. The tinsel stinger is a great idea Kinger I see that as a great crappie/perch trigger. I think I will stick with wood and metal those are a median I have faith in. I wish I lived close enough to visit Gbfisher and Leechman for a round of crafting. So what have you been up to Chris??? got any new flies tied or are you able to get back to your other threadwork? He doesn't want anyone to know but.....(he sews the cotton crotches into pantyhoses for a little extra money). Art
  15. Yup you caught me their little XERON I can't pull the wool over your eyes their. Jackass Now if you knew me you would never have made that statement. If you had held the lure in your hands you would have see were I had started off with a piece of red cedar in block form and then whittled it into the likeness of a suick. You would have seen the 3 base coats of white then a coat of green with glitter then a transparent blue layered over the top. The tailfin was cut out by hand and mounted with screws. I think I have around 6 fun filled hours into that "repainted suick". I can not put a price on that lure because the only people that will get one of them are my best friends. Something you will never have to worry about. Art
  16. This subject has been attempted before and failed due to political bashing instead of factual discussions . I do not expect this 3rd attempt to go any better. You might want to make your 2 nd post something a little less flammable like who you are and what you fish for...... Art
  17. I have seen a few of your lures Joey and would be proud to own a perch colored with a pair of brass willow blades. Will you deliver to Lak Air this year? I am pretty sure I can find something that you want from the Stated. Art
  18. I will fess up it was one of the first group of lures I made Chris. I have a new one for you and will bring it up to Lak Air for you. Art
  19. no.... no.. hidden motive or requests from friends/etc. I am actually looking for the garage hobbyist who made them in the ice season. I have seen a few talented makers and have collected lures from them over the years. If someone is mass producing or expects to have volume sales then yup they need to advertise for sure. I Know some of the best lures I have used came to me as gifts and I have always returned the gift with one that makes them as happy as they made me. BTW if you have a lure that you wish to sell because you are proud of it I might be able to find it a good home I am sure T.J. won't blackball us. Art
  20. Thanks Raf you saved my butt on this. Matt I am sorry I confused the lundge lodge with one that is on the West End of Lake Nippissing. You do not want to make that run.... it is tough when the wind blows. The map # I gave you is for the west arm and is not correct. I was with Brian and Liz years back and found the camp very nice but as you say the rates have made it less attractive. If you decide that you want to fish different waters the west arm does have some pretty nice waters to play in though. Art
  21. The premise of this if you are a seller: If you have a lure/lures that you have made and wish to sell them/show them off then post a picture and a price for the lure. When it sells then edit it as sold. If you are a buyer then send a P.M. or an E mail to the poster and exchange information as to the sale. READ ME : This is not designed for mass produced or volume sales. If you do have that in mind Please contact T.J. or one of the Mods for advertisment rates. You will get the respect of the Board members as a stand up guy and your sales will be greater. This does not have anything to do with the website and is not being policed by anyone. If you do decide to sell/ barter/trade it is between you and the other member make sure that the payment and the shipping of the merchandise is carried out and that you pay for the item. If this works then we might be able to get a section dedicated to this thread. If a transaction falls thru it is buyer beware the MODS and OWNER will not respond to any complaints. SO please everyone do what is correct and hopefully we will have some nice friendships develop and some one of a kind lures. Art
  22. See what you did TJ I listened to what you said and did not watch the game and it looks like I missed one heck of a good game. When will I ever learn not to listen to Our Fearless Leader unless Monique says it is O.K.. Art
  23. Vince you are still mad that the Discovers of Canada took a right instead of a left when they landed.... See you got to remember that in 1767 My dissatisfied ancestors left the Great White North (Arcadia) and traveled till they found the land of warmth and sunshine (Louisiana) were we rooted and still call home. So the next time you are asked what is a Southern Canadian you know you can answer a CAJUN. Art The Cajun
  24. You may win this time but as soon as we can buy a few more Canadian Hockey players. Then we will see who is #1. Art
  25. Sorry please add my $50.00 and the other $50.00 from Chris I just wrote the check and will mail it Tommorrow. Art
