  1. congrats on negotiating a better price, sounds like you have found a nice clean boat at a fair price $8k
  2. sounds like a good deal and a nice boat
  3. there is a used one in the classified section , only 4 hp though.
  4. I think that's a little high for that package, someone from the board sold a 17 ft crestliner (1993) with a 2001 (I think) 90 hp 4 stroke for around $8500.
  5. at most of the places I fish on Georgian Bay there are rocky shorelines that come out and then there is a weedline then it drops off, I'd suggest finding the weedline and you should be able to find some pike. Maybe even try trolling the weedlines. If you do this for a few days you should have some success.good luck and welcome to the board.
  6. Get the guy to take it to a marina, they should have the setup to hoist it onto your truck,
  7. ANOTHER NICE ROD ARE THE sT CROIX mOJO RODS, i THINK THEY ARE THE SAME PRICE OR CHEAPER THAN THE COMPRE'S. As far as reels I started buying Daiwa's and find them to be great reels.
  8. One tip I can give about Rice or any lake is to check the wind direction and velocity the day before and plan your day, for instance it says 30 km sw on sat and sun which is pretty substantial on Rice, I've seen it get pretty choppy when the wind blows the length of the lake. I'd probably fish close to Bewdley or the south shoreline or around the islands looking for weed beds.
  9. right in Bewdley at the water there is a bait shop, for spring crappie I don't think you need minnows, just a slip float, a few micro tubes and maybe a white maribou jig with a pink head.
  10. Do the crappie live in the holland river all year or just go there to spawn?
  11. 95 percent of the time I use 2wd to pull the boat out, there are a few ramps that require 4wd such as the ones around Waubaushene or if you try and launch off the beach in Frenchmans Bay. I've seen people get stuck there with 2wd minivans. good luck with the new boat.
  12. I bought a pair of Birdz with the strap to keep them from falling off when driving down the lake, I have the model with the prescription insert. PRESCRIPTION SUNGLASSES
  13. the only thing I would add would be some trailer hooks for the spinnerbaits, also don't use your most expensive spinnerbaits for pike, good luck out there.
  14. I just noticed Gagnon's in Oshawa is having a sale and saw some pretty good deals here's the link. gagnon's sale
  15. Pretty amazing to have that talent and not have nobody notice it before.
  16. I'd recommend going to a dollar store (Dollarama specifically) and see what they have.I've see a few different baits in these stores that are pretty good to start you off . I've seen crankbaits, plastics, inline spinners at Dollarama stores. I'd also recomment some slip floats as they cast better than the red/white bobbers.
  17. here is the page for water levels you can change it to whatever one you want water flow
  18. does anybody have the webpage showing the water flow levels in the rivers? this is a great tool to find out if the rivers will be fishable.
  19. I had an Eagle finder that was 3 months out of warranty that when I went to scroll down it would power off. Lowrance offered to sell me a new unit for something like $20 off retail, told them to I wasn't interested.
  20. Call and ask the guy who sold you the boat to make sure you have everything connected properly.
  21. CHECK kIJIJI FOR A USED FIBERGLASS TONNEAU COVER
  22. I sent you a PM with another boat for sale.
  23. If it's made by Daiwa it will be a solid reel. The reply's on Cabela's webpage are pretty good also. Get one and let us know how it goes.
  24. That sure is one fat sucker, probably around 3-4 lbs. I drove by Duffins today and it was like chocolat milk. Usually after the amount of rain we had it will take a couple of days to clear up.
  25. Congrats and nice pics.
