  1. Funny to see you put this up now Marc, I just watched the episode with and the guys chasing muskies today. Thanks for the link. Definitely one of the best shows out there.
  2. Congrats on a PB Kemper. Still a nice pic of your fish even though you're not holding it.
  3. Those are some great pictures. Thanks for the report.
  4. Good fishing wolf. I love a good pike scrap through the ice myself.
  5. Hey thanks everyone. Kelly has been checking out your comments and I think it's going to her head. haha. Simon - yes, good eye. I got the jr. version of yours. Does a good job in my little Fish Trap Guide. We also cook lunch on it! lol.
  6. Great live band. I've seen them over 40 times live. Gord has such an amazing stage presence. One thing I like the most is that the songs DON'T all sound the same as they do on the CD. Their songs 'grow' over the years as they perform them live and extra/different lyrics often appear. These new lyrics often form new songs that appear years later on studio releases.
  7. That's a great spec, congrats. Looks like a fun trip you guys had.
  8. Well I just finished the dishes!! hahaha
  9. Looks like we both got out fished by our girls today. I'm just as happy to see her catching though. Great report Kev - a beauty white fish for your GF. Tell her congrats.
  10. Kelly had a day off today so we loaded up the gear and hit the ice looking for walleye. She's not one for the cold and doesn't get out ice fishing much. In fact, she's never caught a fish through the ice. Of course, she ends up landing a dandy.... her first fish through the ice ever is this fat 24" walleye She played it like a pro on my UL set-up with 4lb test. We hit a few under 18" that we kept for the pan, including one that kelly got jigging. Man, was I ever proud of her hookset - hard and fast! Here was my prize for the day. At least it'll eat
  11. Pick up last months issue of Ontario Out of Doors. There is an excellent article in there about targeting large pike through the ice. It is written by Jeff Gustafson.
  12. That's great to see you out taking advantage of such an amazing fishery in those conditions. Congratulations on some fine fishing fellas.
  13. Mike, those are some amazing pictures. Your new net is a work of art. Great report.
  14. Too cool Simon. Did you put her on some fish or what???
  15. IMO, the course is money well spent. Especially for those with limited exposure to firearms.
  16. Good fishing fellas. Enjoyed the report very much.
  17. She went right back down the hole, after a couple of pictures. I release all walleye over 18". Anything bigger, I don't consider good table fare. Also, a walleye over 18" is a prime spawner.
  18. We've had some really stable weather lately... a high pressure system that settled in and gave us clear skies and cold temps. The fishing has suffered from it this week so today we decided to switch it up and try a lake we hadn't been on in more then a month. Minnitaki lake is part of the Abram, Pelican and Lac Seul system. It's a massive lake it its own right that holds walleye, pike and lake trout. The action was still on the slow side, but I had a couple of nice ones come up today. This guy hit my jig on the way down. I watched it chase on the flasher then my line stopped. Hook set, game on.... this isn't a walleye I'm thinking. Pretty fun on the walleye gear. We were jigging on a hump and I was on the shallowest part at 19'. I had on a jigging rap tipped with a minnow. I had just caught a nice eater and dropped back down. jig-jig-jig... big red band on the flasher... raise it up... follow.. hold still.... bang, she hits it. Slammed the hook set and knew right away it wasn't a small one. Sure was glad to see this girls big head pop up the hole Fished a bit more with nothing else and packed it in when the sun dipped below the trees. Another good day in NW Ontario.
  19. Rock solid effort there boys. Awesome fish to show for it too. Great report.
  20. You should left that in and beeped the whole clip from start to finish.
  21. lets just say Graham and I were a little surprised to see the size of the whitey that came up the hole. AND the camera man didn't give us any warning that he was 'rolling tape'.
