  1. As you likely have guessed we did a major upgrade in the last day. It is ongoing until we get all the skins finished as well. What you will notice first is the additions to the edit and posting features. You can do alot more stuff while posting including linking back to another post (this will be very handy, trust me). You will also notice two very large changes which come in very handy on a fishing site. First, we have a massively expanded personal profile area. This allows you to create a comprehensive self portrait and allows you to track messages, assign friends and alot more. The biggest new addition is the Blog component. These things are everywhere now. Yours is built right in. Create a blog from your control area and then you will see a 'My Blog' feature link up top. Should be right beside 'My Album' These blogs will be of use to everyone. You can set it private and use it to track fishing success rates. Guides and lodge owners can use them to keep everyone up to date with how things are going and not have to spam the forum. Blogs get indexed very well by search engines, so they are of great use to those in the pro end of fishing. We have a new Computer Help Center set up. In there Gerritt (and hopefully soon to be another member I can't seem to get a hold of) will be able to help you with questions about this site, the internet and your computer in general. So far we haven't run into any major issues. I was concerned about cookies and the new board cause the new system uses alot more security features to prevent hacking. By far and away this is the safest forum software on the internet now. Prior to it being launched it was put to a security group to try and destroy. Their input led to some changes in the way all the private information flows. You can also now post an embedded URL for displaying videos on You Tube or Google rather than just a regular link. The video shows up right on the site.
  2. The upgrade seems complete..I am just adding the skin edits now
  3. Pretty sure this is also the give-away issue at the Fishing Show, if you're going CCMT.
  4. Since they were arrested, go to the Crown Attorney and ask that restitution be part of the sentencing should they be convicted. Saves you from having to go to small claims court. Get a few repair estimates in the mean time.
  5. I scanned it pretty big, Cliff. Let me know when you got it and I'll tkae it off in a few days.
  6. See how many OFC members you can spot on page 15 of the OFAH section in this months OOD magazine. I spotted bly, Rich (the angler formerly known as BBR) and Shad... Who else is in there? I am not in case you were wondering...which you probably weren't.
  7. I'm doing both. The web business is good, but horribly cyclical. Plus I can't give up the benefits they give at my day job. So for now it is 70 hour work weeks for me during the winter.
  8. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value=" name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src=" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>
  9. IF you can't afford a floater suit, at least wear a life vest. If you go through it keeps your head above water until you can get your wits about you. IF you watch the video on surving going through the ice, the first few minutes are critical. After that you can survive an hour or more if need be.
  10. Uhhh..I think there is an error in one answer. In one hour the hour hand on a clock moves 30 degrees. ( 1/12th of 360 degrees). In one minute it moves 1/60th of 30 degrees.
  11. I'll be adding some tunes to the bigfish express this spring and was wondering what you guys did? I was thinking of doing the following. I have a compartment and the hatch is only half the width of the compartment itself (as you can see in the picture). I was going to mount the stereo inside that compartment under the non-opening deck. This would offer some protection from the elements. I also am looking at getting a stereo that takes SD cards for music. This gets rid of any chance for skipping while in waves. I would also likely have to use smaller boxed speakers rather than cutting up the back of the front bench seats. Should I get a 'waterproof' stereo (rather costly) or a mid-level regular car stereo (about 1/3 the cost) and take my chances? I will attach the antennae lead directly to the boat to use the boat as the antennae. My circuit breaker panel has one empty circuit left on it.
  12. Thanks guys. The original letter contained a link to the poacher thread we had here. That thread certainly generated alot of attention across the province and we could tell by the number of hits going in from government web servers. Let's hope someone is listening.
  13. The only liquid that might not freeze up that I can think of would be the -50 windshield fluid that has RainX in it. Just has teflon in it I think.
  14. I'm sure dried, salted minnows would present little if any risk. I'll bet the receipt thing becomes an issue at some point as well.
  15. Dave is a member here as well. Good stuff guys!
  16. I guess this is just for Ocean fisheries? And neither party should point fingers over patronage.
  17. The Lower Niagara River never freezes....one of the worlds top steelheading spots!
  18. What TJ said. We just wanted the guys to have a spot until they get sorted out. We know what it's like to have to make major changes and what it is like for the members to have to endure it. Hope the guys get it sorted soon so their members can feel at ease. Anyone taking advantage of such a situation is unethical IMHO.
  19. I'd rank Kaspersky and AVG ahead of Norton because of Nortons resource usage and the way it rewrites alot of your registry and is so damm difficult to uninstall.
  20. We have created a temporary home for the LAke Simcoe message board until such time they can get their site back up and running. Welcome to the site. Once they are back up, we will merge the new forum back into this one.
  21. How much are they going to charge? It would be very difficult to keep something like that as Open Source. Updates are daily.
  22. We put the link up top cause it is now integrated and not a seperate page.
  23. Looks awesome (even centered now!). Like ALL of Google's stuff it is rather Java dependant, so make sure you have all your Java updates.
