Pointe Au Baril always had a special place in my memories, grew up with family vacations there. This would have been the next target. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s9N6Xb99fXw...feature=related

LOL Dog------------------------------------------ bones for them. Wife and kids, sister in law, brother in law, nieces and nephews went` to the bowling alley for the annual Christmas party. I don`t walk well enough to consider bowling, hands shake too much to shoot pool, and certainly don`t need to drink. I get to hang out with my 4 legged friends! -
Here ya go Glenn, a little northern sound?

Nuge in his younger days. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UN2VNFpiGWo...feature=related Woke up to him on stage in a farmers field playing that tune, a concert in Indiana billed as the second Woodstock, hitch hiked there and back with one of my High Pilots. Concert didn`t live up to the billing, but I had fun!

It has been a long time since I owned a Ford product and never bought any new, late 60`s Mustang, 77 t-bird and 78 cougar given to me by my brother and mom both had tranny failures, after the rear bumpers fell off. Older Ford station wagon I owned(another dirt cheap special) also died of tranny failure, one of the reasons I don`t usually buy ford products unless they are dirt cheap. Towed a lot of boats with cars and vans, fords mentioned never towed anything. Never had a tranny failure on any of my other vehicles not racing related(stick shift cars). None were 2200 a a package though. My last 3 vans have been Chevy astros or GMC safaris, none came with a tranny cooler, all have engine oil coolers, lines runs from the base of the oil filter to the radiator. If I had records showing I had paid for a tranny cooler and didn`t get one? Better Business Bureau would be my first step.

Keep it up Glen!

Arbogast Jitterbugs are a classic lure, they have been around as long as I have and still work. I still have them and used them, they also made a Muskie sized one that was popular in Florida for bigger bass. Good night time lure also, a long cast and steady retrieve gives the fish something to home in on. As I recall they even used to make Fly rod sized ones, don`t know if they still do.

Sorry to hear it Tom.

Mike, I wandered around in the dark fishing ponds during the week days because the were the closest bodies of water to my home until I hit the mid 30`s and moved close to Lake Erie. A back pack is the way to go, tackle in the backpack 2 rod in one hand and one hand free. Works in the day time too. Most back packs will hold a few plano boxes, 3600-3700 series, should be all you need to hold your tackle for a trip. Throw in a pair of needle nosed pliers, flashlight, clippers, a pocket knife. Fishing from shore for bass? Plastic worms, plastic lizards you can riq texas style, I carried a mix 4-8 inch, purple, black and junebug, those colors seemed to be the best producers any where. A couple of buzzbaits, white, black, and if you want mix in a chartruse one. 1/8 and 1/4 ounce, ones that I use have a twisted eye, and I can`t remember who made them, but more compact than most and sort of a spoon shaped head that glided over weeds and lilies easily. A couple, few? top water baits, zara spook, heddon torpedo, jitterbug? Your choice try and get ones that make a different sound- action coming across the water. Jig and pig, whether you fish them in the traditional style or swim them thru cover they work. Most of the ponds here are bowls, you usually have to get a decent cast from shore to hit deeper water 6-10 feet, might be different in your area though. Shallow or medium running crankbaits, I used Manns -1 Bandit 100 and 200 series white, chrome and black, silver and black, mix in a green or bluegill color. Rapala floaters were a twitch bait for me, cast let sit a while and twitch, seen bass just seem to float up behind them and strike on the twitch. Flukes are another good surface bait, rigged weedless you don`t have much trouble working them thru cover. Johnson Silver minnow with a pork frog trailer, old school but works. Keep it on the surface a little flutter in the pockets. Blakemore road runners, just a funny styled jig, but they also work, I used a grub trailer on them and later made my own, 1/8- 1/4 ounce. The soft plastic lures are pretty versatile, I have often used an unweighted lizard with a 3/0 or 4/0 hook as a surface bait, just let it settle slowly down as it hit open pockets in weeds. You can do the same with a tube or worm. Some of the places I fished were a pretty good hike off the road-railroad tracks, a backpack made it a lot easier.

The only one I have been to is the one in Auburn Hills Mi. and it`s been about 4 years ago now since the last trip there. Never had a problem there or with Cabela`s in Dundee Mi. Different for me though, a geezer, fishing only, I know what I want when I get there so don`t need help.

Is anything else on the same pipe? My downstairs shower and kitchen sink use the same pipe to drain. Shower was slow draining and so was the kitchen sink, ran a snake (25 foot) thru to thr junction and didn`t really feel any blockage, then I put a couple cable ties on the end of the snake, cut them short like 3/4 inch and ran it thru. Ran hot water into the sink and let it fill, it all backed up in the shower, grease build up, ran the snake thru again and it was all gone. Left the hot water run in the sink while I was doing it.

Brian, a few advantages to fishing with people in tournaments, you get to see what they are using, how they are using it, how they approach different situations on the water, weather, wind, water levels and color, and their dang spots they like to frequent. LOL caught a l/m bass on a gold erie dearie once, I had already thrown every thing else in the box at them and it was about the only thing left, sort of surprized to get a l/m on it but I think it went for the plastic worm trailer? Spinner baits? White. Chartruse and white, chartruse and blue, fire tiger. The black ones I bought long ago for night fishing only seemed to catch fish during the day, and not often. Gold chrome finish crankbaits worked well on Lake Erie for walleye and smallies.

Might just be me but the time to buy more of a certain lure is after you have had success with them, it`s too easy to become a lure collector, boxes full of lures that you have had no particular success with. One outing on one body of water isn`t the way to go picking lures, and there are lures with a history of successful outings. eg, jitterbugs, hula poppers, johnson silver minnow, heddon torpedos, smithwick devils horse, rattle traps, storm wiggle warts, bandit 100 200 300 series, rapala shad raps heddon sonars. A lot more, and some of one style will work better than the exact same lure of the same brand. A lure with the paint beaten off means it catches fish! Something about the action of that one lure that triggers strikes. If your fishing in waters with pike with one of your go to bass lures put a steel leader on, pike like bass lures and you don`t want to lose proven winners. Again just my view is you want to be able to strain the water for fish, be able to cover a variety of depths with lures that have a history of success. Some of the best ones maybe the most inexpensive, the soft plastic baits and jigs. Fished lakes where it looked like a noisy surface lure would be the ticket at night and a plastic worm or lizard actually caught the fish. Don`t be afraid to mix things up. Hard to beat time on a particular body of water, but some things work more often than not.

Didn`t have to watch, key word "ice".

It was windy down here to south west of Cleveland Ohio, had a piece of vinyl siding blow off the house first time in 19 year.

I have an ultra light I used for catching minnows for bait, everything else, spinning or bait casting is at least a medium action. 10 pound test is light line for me though, 8 pound test very light, and 6 pound test is usually what I used for catching bait, bigger line wouldn`t fit through the hook eye. I used lighter rods long ago, just rather play with the fish in the live well.

No Problem Charles, I knew I had seem them. Maybe even at the local tackle shop here, it is run by some guys that fish most of the area bass tournaments, and they know their stuff. A lot of bass tournaments in the area here, Lake Erie and inland lakes. Although their shop is geared to the bass fisherman they carry a full line of quality tackle.
