  1. Great fish! A question, fish in the 2nd 2 pics, the heads look blunter than the big fish, all that I have seen here look like the bigger one but a good bit smaller. More of a longer jaw.
  2. for a 12foot aluminum a 10 horse maybe tops? No max hp rating tag on it? I wouldn`t exceed it if there is.

  4. Gerritt, 400 million? If you have ever seen how our military projects go that is just the low ball estimate to get the project approved. It wouldn`t surprise to see them actually cost twice that. http://militarytimes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1570824 Parts made in 44 states? So the lobbyists representing the company could tell the politicians if you don`t approve this project we will run campaign ads saying your actions cost people in your state jobs. That is how it works down here. 70+ registered lobbyists for each member of congress. Akron Ohio is where I believe the Goodyear blimps are made or, and stored, I see the flying past here all the time. I know they have a hanger for them off of state route 224. Also get to see groups of hot air balloons once in a while, kind of a neat sight to see them drifting across the sky. , lots of bright colors.

  9. Good luck Chief! Used to buy some hair jigs off a guy that lived down around there and fished it. A big lake.

  11. Marty Robbins, Judith Durham 2 great voices! This guy wasn`t bad either.
  12. Great John! I will have to run that by my daughter, she will be starting college in the fall to be a vet.
  13. Blaque the sad part about it is it is true, Stewart has been banging on Cramer and CNBC the channel he is on here all week. I used to watch CNBC and though I don`t invest in the stock market I wondered about his picks and other items the put on about Wall Street. It just seemed like more of a Wall Street rah-rah channel then anything else. If you listen to CNBC and lost money it`s no surprise to me.
  14. Congrats Brian! Was a 40 waist last June,and now a 32 biggrin.gif You was a stout fellow?
  15. I put a link on another post with some comments on that reel, it appears everyone that has one is happy with it. I am in the states, that price is what they go for here, usually higher in Canada? Think someone mentioned a reel trade in at Bass Pro Shop, don`t know if it`s still on. Length? I am taller and prefer rods 6 1/2 to 7 foot but really a matter of choice, generally more casting distance with a longer rod. Your call also on one or two piece rods, I prefer 1 piece. Brands and cost for a rod? All over the place, you don`t have to spend a fortune to get a decent one, Diawa Heartland, Shimano Convergence, Berkley Lighting rod or others. Something comfortable in your hand will get used more, and even the Bass pro rods are good. Medium to medium heavy action will do for all but the largest of pike and other species. Line choice is also all over the place. I set some of my baitcasters up with 10 pound line for open water use like Lake Erie, no junk around so I don`t need heavier line. If your fishing most of the time in weeds, wood, rocks a heavier line is a better choice, say 14 to 20 pound test mono or 30? pound braid? Don`t use braid myself but a lot of guys on the board do and can help you with that. Good Luck with it, may take a bit of time to get the feel but worth it.
  16. 50 bass over 6 pounds, got the between 4 and 6 covered a few times.
  17. Mushroom works fine in soft bottoms, mud and muck, not great in sand or rock, it doesn`t dig in. Small navy style might be your best bet for an all around anchor. Sand bottom anchors, Danforth? are usually thinner steel, meant to bury themselves in the sand to hold. Had one on my bigger boat for Lake Erie it worked well. Also carried a navy style for back up and in case I wanted to fix both ends of the boat. River style anchor is sort of like a mushroom but with gaps it will work on harder bottoms also. I carried a river style and a navy style in my 17 foot aluminum.
