  1. Thanks....for the info...I think I know what you mean. Jason
  2. It is a 12V Minn Kota Maximum. Not sure if it in series or parallel, but it is a 2 bank charger. One set of cables goes directly to only one battery (positive/negative) terminals. And the other set of cables goes directly to the other battery (positive/negative) terminals. The batteries are separate from one another...not connected to each other in any way.....I hope that made sense. I should have paid more attention in science class!!!
  3. Last week I bought two new optima dual purpose batteries and the 2 Bank 10/10 Bass pro charger ONLY for my trolling motor. So I installed the charger and batteries in the back of my boat.....plugged it in and it topped off both batteries.....green light came on (fully charged/float). Good to go. So off I went fishing this weekend....came home plugged in the charger and the green light (fully charged/float) came on....uh?? Impossible...I used my trolling motor for several hours...how can it still show as being fully charged/float? So off I went to my neighbor and he came over with a Nautilus charger and when we hooked up the battery that was used (only 1) it shows 35% on his charger.....I don't understand....... Why does it show as being fully charged on my new on-board charger.....it originally worked fine..charged both batteries fully. Weird..... any ideas or suggestions? Thanks Jason Sorry I took so long to get back to you guys.....thanks for all the help. I was busy all night packing for my trip up North on thursday. Unfortunately I had to remove all my batteries from boat (taking my buddies boat) so what ever we figure out...will have to wait until I get back from my trip. If I purchased JUMPER cables to connect both batteries will it work? And YES the plan was to manually switch over the trolling battery cables once the first battery was completed drained. Thanks for all your help. Jason
  4. Here's the link...... http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&id=0005884 The fishing wasn't all that great....but the camping was a real treat with family and friends and the wood stove...hehehe. And Cliff as you know I am very allergic to the bugs.....no more trips to the hospital for me Hey Mike....you are correct my fiancee is a trooper to the extreme.....she knew the cold and rain was coming for Sunday/Monday...and she was the one who wanted to stick it out....I am so lucky.
  5. WTG Mike...looks like an awesome trip for sure.....believe me I know how wet and cold it was this weekend on the water....not nice, but atleast you caught fish Jason
  6. That was one of the most amazing reports I have read in a long time.....probably since the last time I read one of yours. Beautiful scenery up that way....I can't wait I leave in 4 days for north of Cochrane.
  7. Well after a long winter and cabin fever taken it's toll, we decided no matter what we were going camping/fishing. Although the fishing was rather horrible, 1 small pike, 1 very small pickeral and a couple of OOS smallies. The weather was beautiful on Saturday, but very cold at night with lots of rain the last day. The first trip of the year is always exciting.....here's some pics The road into the lake.... Over the winter I purchased a rather large 4 season tent from Cabelas with a wood stove...no more roughing it..... Here's a couple of more scenery pics.. We has an awesome time..... 4 days left until our annual trip north of Cochrane for some huge pike.....can't wait Jason
  8. Hey Darsky, that's the first I've heard of using bounce sheets.....does it really work well? I usually attach (tape) a mosquito coil with metal attachment to my baseball hat. Burnt a couple of hats over the years.....but most bugs stay FAR away.....hehehehe. Jason
  9. That doesn't sound good.....I'm not telling my sister
  10. Who ever was heading up for the 16th better pray for a miracle!!! I know the ice goes fast when it really gets going, but I'd say it'll probably going to take until the 20th for sure...if your lucky......by the looks of that....you could still go ice fishing!!! Jason
  11. I plan on spending the long weekend tent camping just north of Kaladar/Cloyne area fishing with 4 friends who don't exactly like the bugs or fishing (my sister), so it should be rather interesting. Does anyone know how bad the blackflies are this year so far? Thanks Jason
  12. Looks like a sweet trip.....nothing like the first trip of the year. I don't think you had enough stuff in the boat.....I thought I was bad!!
  13. A beautiful report once again with the family.....pretty soon Cliff your not going to have any time to fish......you'll be too busy using the net Jason
  14. Awesome fish ....those specks remind me of the good old days back on the "Rock". Thanks for sharing Jason
  15. That's looks like an amazing trip.....awesome BIG fish. Congrats Jason
  16. Thank God they float.....some 80lb braid and leader material going on those before they even see water. I do believe I need help.....I'm going to be divorced before I get married if the fiancee finds out the cost on those
  17. I can't wait to try these......just pray I don't loose them. Not spam...not affliated in any way....just heard awesome reviews. http://www.316lurecompany.com/ Going to be awesome for some crazy top water pike/musky and night time bass fishing. Jason
  18. You are correct it doesn't show Nungesser. Unfortunately there are no satellite images that far north on that site, or any other site that I know off. That is lake of the woods of the near top left and Lac Seul on the top almost middle. http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/ 1)Google-Modis Rapidfire 2)Under Quick Links choose-Near-Real-Time-Subsets 3)Select any "Red Square" on the world map. 4)Enjoy Jason
  19. Check out this link....it shows the ice conditions for Northwestern Ontario on a daily basis. I'm not sure of the exact location of Nungesser Lake, but this satellite link will definately help. I use it every year to determine when to head up to my secret spot north of Cochrane. Jason http://rapidfire.sci.gsfc.nasa.gov/subsets...ra.721.250m.jpg
  20. This is probably the best $20.00 bucks I have ever spent. It can hold 7 rod/reel combos securely out of the way, fully adjustable to fix any vehicle. Purchased through Cabelas. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...&hasJS=true Jason
  21. WTG Mike .....do you ever not catch fish? Jason
  22. Thanks guys for the quick replies.....greatly appreciated. Going to look into each one of them for sure. I can't wait....1 month off from work....getting married, honeymoon down south and 2 weeks of fishing up north!! Jason
  23. Unexpectingly I have 10-12 days for a fishing trip with my better half in the middle of August. Does anyone have any suggestions for a remote lake within 8-18 hours MAX from Oshawa with a decent boat launch for a 14' aluminum and Chev Venture mini van? Plan on camping in tent....looking for big smallies or big pike. I've been researching this for a couple of days...the more I look...the more I get frustrated. There too many lakes in Northern Ontario and Quebec!!!
  24. I was wondering the exact same thing....they charged my credit charge...I printed my E-License on Jan 1...still haven't seen anything in the mail yet!!!
  25. I'm looking on some advice for purchasing a musky/swimbait (rod/reel) combo. Seeing how the prices are amazing and the shipping is practically FREE....what would you guys recommend? Under $250 for both. Thanks Jason
