You may also want to consider using a mortgage broker. I just started using one and I don't know why I waited so long. I used to do all the running around and shopping for the best rates. That is their job and there is no fee to use a broker, the banks pay them to get your business. I think you'll find the best rates using a broker, and they could probably answer your long term mortgage question the best. You might be able to find closer to 5% for 5 years. Have fun! Tony

I don't believe it is possible to navigate to Gloucester pool from Six mile, I could be wrong though. I am sure you will hook into some Pike, they are pretty accomodating at this time of year. Have fun! and watch out for the drunks Tony

That sounds like good news, hopefully the results are favourable and he is fully recovered in time for Bass opener! Tony

Good thing he used something other than his hand or arm to wrap the braid around douG. The stuff will cut you deeply if you aren't careful. It is strong line that is for sure! Tony

You can get away with 20 or 30lb powerpro as I think it only has a line diameter equivalent to 8lb monofilament. What I usually do is tie a 6-10' leader on of mono or flourocarbon in 8-12lb test depending on the type of fishing I am doing. You can use a uni to uni knot to achieve a very strong connection between the braid and leader line. Tony

I am amazed at how much racism there is out there still, I used to keep my mouth shut, but now I always speak up when someone makes any kind of racial remark. Zero tolerance around me. Remember...everyone except native Indians are technically 'immigrants'. Tony

Holy crap that is far up north! Tony

Keep up the good work Rick! Thanks, Tony

Right on! I was waiting to hear how you fared with the trout up in Algonquin. Looks like another incredible adventure, and I'm sure you'll be very pleased with the final cut of the show. Think of it as taking 23 minutes of highlight reel from your 7+ hours footage, it will be great! When and where is your next shoot going to take place? Tony

Here you go! Kdx SD = 2.5 (Product of the vertical attenuation coefficient and the depth at which the Secchi disk disappears) EZD : SD = 1.48 (Ratio between depth of 1% light and depth that the Secchi disk disappears) Isu : I = 2.8 (Amount of incident PAR remaining at the Secchi Disk depth, %) Cheers, Tony

Have you also considered possibly booking a salmon and trout fishing charter on Lake Ontario? The boats are well equipped, gaurantee fish, and can even cater a lunch or dinner for you. All you gotta do is show up and reel in fish! It certainly takes a lot of pressure off of you to take people to catch fish in an unknown location... Tony

May not be around much for the next couple of days

Sorry to hear of your sad news. Thoughts are with you. Tony -
Yep, the site is flourishing as is. Keep it free, keep it public, just don't post fishing reports or pictures of spots you don't want thousands of people a day to see. Tony

Boat Insurance...Darn near had a stroke...

Where did you say you kept that boat at night when you're not around? Boat insurance isn't too bad at all, does that have a layover period or can you bring it down to the Niagara in December? Tony -
Expect some company down there this weekend Tony

I'll have a chat with the lads and see what they think. Keep the ideas coming! Thanks, Tony

Hehe, I'm probably going to go Galvanized EZ-Loader with the dual axle.

Yikes! Wayne, did your Lund come on an EZ-Loader made in 2006? The swing-tongue part of the trailer is listed as a recall... Tony

I voted yes, to contributing members only. I rarely post the results of my outings here anymore. It's a lot of work to constantly try to remember to not reveal backgrounds and/or edit the pictures prior to posting them on OFC. I used to share a lot more but complaints from other members about my reports and/or inviting higher than normal traffic at my fishing locations is not worth it. This site has turned into the equivalent of drive-thru fast food but for fishing reports/locations...I don't want to encourage that anymore. People are spoiled with the Internet, fewer and fewer folks are getting out there and discovering spots and hot bites on their own. It's worth contributing to others that do the same, but that isn't the case here. That being said, I understand the goal of this site and I think in it's present state that goal is being achieved. Mattitude, that is a great picture. I can't believe how much smoke must be there for it to show up that clearly on a satellite image. Rain dance complete! Tony

Welcome, glad to have you aboard Don! Tony -
Ok, who let you hold their fish? J/K Glad to see you got a fish on the wire rod! Awesome strikes on that set-up eh? Tony

You're right, that certainly can't hurt

I agree with ya HH, the people that are ruining these spots for others are always the bad apples. You won't find too many of them participating here... Tony

I am planning a trip with a friend and my brother in-law for the may long weekend. We are trying to keep costs as low as possible so crown land is probably our best bet. Since I haven't ever done this type of camping, I was hoping for some suggestions from the community. We would like to fish for any gamefish that is in season so Pike, Walleye, Trout... Somewhere within 4-5 hours of Toronto. I've checked out the Crown land use atlas on the MNR website, and although it looks fairly clear and straightforward, I don't want to accidentally trespass on private property or anything like that. Appreciate any tips, advice and/or your experiences if you have done this thing in the past. Thanks in advance, Tony
