  5. Where can a discerning angler acquire a GEP-ROD with a tenite grip??? It's better than ever. Man, we have always been bombarded with clever marketing ploys.

  10. You mean like these? 2 guys, 25 dumb laws, 1 absurd American crime spree. One of them is fishing related: Fishing in your pyjamas is illegal in Chicago. http://www.randomhouse.com/crown/youcangetarrestedforthat/
  11. The government just needs to find a way to get their cut, then they'll be ok with it. Government, as do others, like to subjectively apply their morals.
  12. I was free for diner tonight, if you were askin'?
  13. http://www.nugget.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3077626 Lake Nipissing ice off watch heats up By Nugget Staff Posted 7:30pm April 15 The ice covering Lake Nipissing is quickly disappearing following heavy rain at the beginning of the week. White ice can only be seen near the shore with a thin layer of decaying crystals stretching across most of the lake. At the beginning of month, there seemed to be a thick cover that would take a month to dissolve and people were predicting the ice would stay into May. Even the betting pool at Demarco's Confectionary has many squares open early next week. "That's funny," Denise Ward said Friday when told the ice is nearly gone. "Maybe nobody will win." As it stands, the closest candidates to winning their pool — if there's no ice early next week — are Gerry Spence and Ricky Cook, who both chose April 21 in two separate pools. The Nugget has been recording the ice-off dates since 1909. The earliest the ice left was April 3 in 1945 and the latest was May 19, 1926. Last year, the ice was declared gone April 8. Anybody who flies over Lake Nipissing is asked to take a photo and e-mail it to [email protected] or call 705-472-3200 ext. 360 and leave a description of what they see.
  14. http://www.nugget.ca/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=3077540 Lake access points back on Monday's council agenda By GORD YOUNG The Nugget Updated 7:30pm April 15 The future of public access point to Lake Nipissing will be in the spotlight at Monday's city council meeting. A staff report is expected to set out exactly how and when the review will be conducted. It comes after municipal politicians asked staff to complete a review of city owned accesses and make recommendations about how best to utilize the lands. The issue is expected to be controversial with some council members open to looking at the possible sale of access points that aren't well used or that have been taken over by abutting homeowners. Others members, meanwhile, have already vowed not to sell any public access points. There are approximately 45 city-owned access points. Some are road allowances, including those encroached upon by abutting property owners, and others that haven't been maintained.
  15. I had no intent to "jump on" anyone and would politely suggest from the quote posted above, did nothing of the sort. The humour was too high brow for me I guess. We sure do a lot of :blahblah1: fer some guys that like to fish don't we.
  16. Bottom line: you can't rely on the net for all of your info, 'cause some people are completely out to lunch and not afraid to let everyone know it.
  17. Not funny. I spent 3 weeks looking up pneumonia. That's an old line from someone else BTW.
  18. I understand the intent behind the word play, but I guess one would have to have had their words (and meaning) changed without their consent, or knowledge, to understand the frustration.
  19. I know party fishing is against the law. In the past, I also cannot guarantee none of my fish have counted against my boat mates fish or vis versa. I'm not as pure as most it appears. We now use a stringer with 4 marked hooks each, as wall-eye (you can kiss my on the word censor) on Nipissing is about the only place we are likely to keep a limit. Edit: Try spelling wall-eye without the hyphen and see what happens. It's one thing to be wrong and ill informed but childish, come on.
  20. I love the "shut the barn door" approach. I wish I could offer some useful advise. It's always a good idea to keep a few things with the plastic wrap on (or even in the stores bag) so secretive purchases can be disguised.
  21. I did say "some". Dinosaurs just die out.
  22. Some ideas (and even some people) evolve over 70 years.
  23. Can you see what finger I'm holding up?
  24. Oh mister Cudmore?!?!
  25. Clarification: The french debate was changed to Wednesday because of hockey on Thursday.
