  1. Unlikely, but they might be last year's devils. ie get the easiest first round opponent of any team of the 16 teams.
  2. The very design of a spinning reel imparts a twist to the line. The key is to try to keep it to a minimum and going in the same direction.
  3. Terry would still give the same answer.
  4. Yes, but on the flip side one of them is gone after the first round as well.
  5. Something to look forward to now every 7 years.
  6. Looks like the Leafs play games 1&2 Wednesday, Saturday. That other series will be Thursday, Friday.
  7. I haven't had that particular problem but I'm sure someone will have an idea. One tip that I was given a while ago to help keep my drags happy was to back off the tension when the reel wasn't in use.
  8. If I wasn't seeing a guy 'bout a boat, I'd be fishin' a crick Monday. Maybe Wednesday, unless I come down with something on Tuesday.
  9. Do you light it or just leave it? and I'm only half joking here.
  10. Lulu's, haven't thought of that place for a looooooong time.
  11. So gang besides "your" team, which first round match-up are you most looking forward to? The Blues and the Kings in the west might be a reel battle. The Blues will be looking to avenge the second round defeat from last year. Kings may not have the same level of goaltending that they had in 2012. Too bad the games will be late.
  12. TV movie Sunday night Mr. Hockey: The Gordie Howe Story, 8pm eastern.
  13. Leafs locked in to 5th. 2nd and 4th tbd.
  14. He/she is stuffed with nuts.
  15. Here's my sumation. Leafs can't finish 4th or higher. Can't finish lower than 6th. Washington is cemented at 3 and plays 6th. Ottawa can (and is the only team that) can knock the Leafs to 6th. Montreal can finish 2nd and if they do then boston is 4th. First tiebreaker is most combined regulation and overtime wins. Clear as mud?
  16. My quick scan of the standings leads me to believe that the Leafs could meet the bruins, habs or the caps in the first round.
  17. Big walk-in, I might be able to use a sliver of it for my clothes and that's only 'cause my wife can't stand to see me naked.
  18. Uh reread it. It's not the reel spool but the line manufactor's spool that is the problem. As above, let it out in the boat or in the park and reel it in. The boat, if an option, is much easier I find. Mark the line spool for next time if there is still line on it and just flip it over like Slowpoke said.
  19. My brother used to have an ultra-lite abu spinning reel that was like that. Only spooled up once at a tackle store the wrong way.
  20. Well that puts my mind at ease a bit. I might try the cold room first. It's 40ft by 4ft so it is not much use other then storing drinks and such.

  23. Well the clan is on the move to a new house. The house is a similar size but the basement is finished so I have to be more judicious in my rod/tackle storage. Two considerations other than in the house are: The cold room, it is huge but I am hesitant to put the rods (and tackle) in there because the humidity isn't controlled. The garage is insulated but not heated/cooled. Thoughts on using either of these? Augers and such I'm not worried about, but the cork handles, fishing reels, tackle bags and soft plastics are the main potential issues.
