  1. Too bad it's not this fall. We've already made plans to go to another Bills game. First thing I did when I heard about this new one was see where it is in relation to Rich stadium and the Sabre's rink.
  2. That is a great perch.
  3. I am not a fan of people taking wildlife management into their own hands, but sometimes some pike can help a lake that has a stunted population of fish. Don't know if this is the case here, but if you do end up finding the brookies they might average bigger then they used to.
  4. I'm all for going to single hooks over trebles but, on those lures the balance/tuning might be effected quite easily by changing hooks. Unless someone I really trusted had already done it with those specific lures I'd be doing some testing myself as I converted a few.
  5. Solid fish to say the least.
  6. With the theme song from the Andy Griffith Show playing in my head my son and I walked down to the stream near our house this morning. The stream does have brookies, browns and the odd resident rainbow but the section within walking distance for a 4 year old is somewhat less then ideal. I figured we'd at least walk in some woods and maybe see some animal tracks. He's not ready for fly casting but I figured the single action reel would simplify things a bit for him. After trying a few spots we finally hit scales. A few chub were all we found but it was short, simple, completed without tears and we were home before 8:30am so hopefully it will be the first of many.
  7. And rumours have had one being built in Barrie for the last few years.
  8. Marketing in the 2.0 age. The previous name was owned by someone who wanted an outrageous amount, for a CFL team, for the rights. That may no longer be the case but the success, and power, of the team in Regina also would make it difficult for an expansion franchise to revive it.
  9. Juvenile fish do not always show the same markings as adults. Some salmonids are particularly difficult sometimes.
  10. Pike all day.
  11. I said: "too much money" the post was meant to be somewhat humorous. But if we were to be serious the question would be: Why would someone spend $200 to make a mediocre cup of expresso in their car when they likely have a $1000 machine in their kitchen? I know what my answer is.
  12. The new CFL team in Ottawa will be called the RedBlacks REDBLACKS. http://www.cfl.ca/article/ottawa-announces-team-name-and-logo
  13. I will respectfully sugest that this is either a sign that you have too much money, or you have an unhealthy fascination with coffee. http://ca.autos.yahoo.com/news/we-put-in-car-espresso-maker-to-the-test-231611428.html
  14. Taxes are paid on the trailer when you get (or transfer) the plates as well.
  15. Legitimate way of lowering the taxes paid on buying used.
  16. I would also have a separate bill for any other stuff. Trolling motor, batteries, fish finder etc.
  17. Darn you northern guys and your open seasons.
  18. I know someone in Tonawanda who won't be impressed, but then again not much does.
  19. In-fishermen has also published a great deal on C&R and mortality throughout the years. I can't summarize it properly here but the numbers have improved a lot over the years as angler awareness, skill and tackle have also improved.
  20. I believe there was also a paper (or two) done on haemophilia in those Sutton brooktrout but the details and credibility of them are unknown to me.
  21. Good for you. Looking forward to seeing you back on tv.
  22. It's Cicada time. One of many types in North America. http://www.ctvnews.ca/sci-tech/17-year-cicada-hatch-to-bring-billions-of-bugs-to-u-s-east-coast-1.1238606
  23. There is a finite amount of "monsters" and most are more myth then anything, but for me the lamprey is the creepiest creature he's dealt with.
