Always enjoy your stories with you & your brother Rob. My brother and I fished together all the time and if he was still with us him and I would have left yesterday for our annual trek to Quinte for spring time eyes. I miss those trips alot but reading your tales always brings back many great memories.

There ya go
-
Yeah, for sure Wayne, if you can't poke the odd hole in the top of your head your not really having much fun
-
No toys for us Rick, we used real bows and real arrows but looking back over the decades it's hard to believe we actually did all those crazy things when we were young & dumb and lived to tell the tales LOL
-
We played a similar game when we were kids back in the 50's but we'd take turns shooting our arrows straight up in the air then see who could stand closest to where it would land. Goofy stuff we used to do but we all survived....somehow

Went into town this morning and gas was $1.04 and came home an hour later and it had jumped 8 cents to $1.12 Odd that it never drops 8 cents in an hour. Good to know though that our government tells us there's no funny stuff going on with the oil companies.

Exactly what I'm talking about Shane, seems to me they should be able to design something that doesn't always cause so much aggravation.

Same as trailer wiring Dan, you'd think in the 21st century they could design some sort of system that wasn't always having issues. I can't recall the last time I ever had a problem with truck lights yet it seems most folks with trailers have lighting problems at one time or another even if it's not a boat trailer constantly in & out of the water. I had a custom boat trailer built a couple years back with LED lights and they've been flawless until yesterday when I hooked it to the truck for the 1st time this year and noticed the trailer lights flickering. You'd think something with as few miles as a boat trailer on it would last a bit longer.

Just curious Steve as to where you get the idea that cyclists don't contribute to the cost of roads. I never wore spandex, but I had a $3000 mountain bike I rode in Toronto on a regular basis between 5 & 40 miles nearly every day of the year but I paid taxes just like anyone else and a lot of that tax money went towards roads. As for the car driver versus the bike rider it's a 2 way street. Many bike riders are morons and cause all sorts of problems, but believe me when I say it's unbelievable how many car drivers are absolutely insane when it comes to cyclists. They almost seem blind to them and don't even blink when they force them off the road, up onto curbs, or just run them into other vehicles. I'd guess I hit at least 6 car doors that drivers just swing open without even looking when their getting out of their cars. I've had guys cut right in front of me and slam on the brakes like I wasn't ever there. One lady cut in front of me while making a right turn into a parking lot and I ran right into the side of her car. I was so pissed off I raised my foot up and kicked her side view mirror off her car. It got so bad I cut off the ends of my rubber hand grips exposing the steel ends of the handle bar so when someone decided to try and squeeze me outta the way he ended up with a nice gouge down the side of his car. One was a brand new $$$$ Mercedes $$$$ that didn't look quite so pretty with a 24" scar running along his door. Some car drivers are lousy and need to learn how to share the roads with bikes, and some bike riders are lousy and also need to learn how not to be jerks. When you see it from the seat of both bikes and cars for many many years like I have, it's easy to see there's bad drivers controlling both 2 & 4 wheel drive vehicles.

Call Sunrise Cottages in Buckhorn, their located on Lower Buckhorn Lake and are very nice folks that should be able to look after your group for 3 days. I've never stayed there but live only 10 miles away and have used their boat ramp many times. https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0CDgQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.sunriseresort.ca%2F&ei=RihSVcTpMY2HyATwjoHYCQ&usg=AFQjCNHv11fvEG6TJZDGpVNLfsUby9uZYQ

No need to apologize jtracc, there's absolutely nothing wrong with bringing up old posts as they may be old to some but new to others.

You've got it Norm, couple times a month for us in the summer. Nice now too as they've got the canopy up over the deck and food is always better when your looking over the lake. Best lemon chicken around as far as I'm concerned.

We had dinner in Buckhorn last night and when we were leaving about 8:00 I saw a CO launching his boat in the extreme NW corner of Lower Buckhorn Lake. Guess he was gonna look for anyone fishing pickerel before mid-night and sure was nice to see them on the water.

I think I had one on my front lawn a couple years ago Cliff, he was as big as a collie dog and far bigger than any coyote I've ever seen. Can't say for sure it was a wolf but it was certainly my 1st thought.

You got yourself a pretty nice neighborhood up there Rick !!
-
But it MUST be true, I read it on the internet
-
I've heard the same thing, infact I heard WD40 actually contained some type of fish oil.

As long as they'll cut through the heaviest hooks your gonna use they'll be just fine.

Cradles are OK with 2 guys in the boat but not so much when your alone.
