I bought a membership which is (like already stated) $5 and good for life. What i really like about this store is (like said ) they have some really decent camping packs and gear. There own brand is usually good stuff and cheaper then the name brand. What I LOVE about this store...Is that it is usually pretty busy, hence causing a line-up to the till. Every time I've been there (maybe 5) some person waits their time in line, gets to the till finally.. gets asked for their membership, finds out it costs $5 and FREAKS OUT at the worker, slamming there stuff on the counter and rage their way out of the store!! Once gone, all of us left in line, that parted with our $5 long ago laugh our behinds off along with the clerk. I look at my one time $5 as admission to the comedy show I'm about to witness. For the record..I'm no YUPPIE, I'm bordering Country REDNECK

My brother, is taking my father who has parkinsons to the tower manor lodge next week for a weeks holiday. I am wondering if anyone could give me a few pointers to pass on to my dad and brother to get them started. My brother has a 19ft boat and is taking it with him. They will also have a my brothers young kids with them so a panfish spot would be great to know also. Thanks for your help if your interested. I have never been there so I am no help whatsoever. Matt

I think I have the canoeing end of things under control A.M.A.P. I am inquireing more about fish species. Trout river or walleye or bass or sturgeon or pike or whitefish or musky or crappie or rock bass or nothing. HAHA ..I have limited space for tackle as it is week long trek so was helping to key in on a species thats prevalent,.

Bass boat seat retailers? Marine radio?
mcdougy replied to mistaredone's topic in General Discussion
The lebaron catalog i grabbed last visit definetly has a bunch of seats in it. I don't recall seeing them in the store either . They may just bring them in when ordered. I guess check the website beforehand and give them a call for the skinny on seats. there is also SAIL. -

look at lebaron. fairly close to you also. -
A 14'2" starcraft tinny with a factory floor. the dry weight of the boat is 400lbs. It was amazing how the tilt/trim of motor influenced speed and plane ability of this motor. Moving it out was like night and day for performance and handling.

Bought it and tried it today.25 merc sea pro. Put half a tank through it in the driveway, then took it to the conservation area near me. I AM GLAD i bought a 25 horsepower. The old 15hp was 18-19 wot. This was 22-23 at 3/4 throttle with a big guy (240) in the front. Cracked to wot a few times and was getting 26-27mph. Very Happy so far. Not to loud, lots of torque and seems to idle decent. lowest speed on idle was 1.8mph. The price was right and the i love that it only weighs 118lb. Apparently for $10 the carb is turned to a 30hp which may be a bonus also one day. Cheers Matt

This year our annual whitewater canoe trip is taking us to the Noire River in Quebec. I was wondering if anyone has done this trip before, and or , what type of fishing there is along this river. We are going for a week so the gear is limited and would like to have the "important" stuff. Cheers Matt

The third hole is to be used if you want to LOCK your transducer down and not have the capabality to allow it to free float while loading or driving. I have the 597 model and will check the box for the install instructions, as I just installed it this spring. Checked and I do have install booklet

Thats there name and thats what they do. A quick reminder to all. My sister- in- laws, Uncle, who was an avid fisherman wasn't wearing his, dumped the boat with some other men in it, couldn't swim..... DIED Don't let this happen to you, Be careful everyone, especially with youngsters. The self inflaters are awesome if you do not care for the traditional style.

Dave, Thanks I appreciate the info. And no 8'-12'ers arent my style really. That sounds like a ceasar then beer day to me

Luke, Does it take much to get yours started? Is the pull very hard? What type of boat/weight do you have it mounted on? Speed with a couple or three guys? Thanks, Im very close to pulling the trigger one of these motors. Matt

Sure never hurts to ask I guess Sinker, what size work boat?. More to the debate.....mentioned to the wifey I was considering a purchase and lo and behold for Father's Day I got a cheque from the kids for a grand. I may now consider going to a new 25smh yamaha 2 stroke as that 1000 is the difference in cost of the yamaha to the merc.
-
Anyone run one of these or care to comment on them. I am considering buying a brand new one. Not 100% I have read that they don't idle the best? Would love to stay with a two stroke yamaha but I can't locate a used one, and some that I have seen are darn near the price of these brand new sea pros.

NF - Our House Build & Touching Base
mcdougy replied to The Urban Fisherman's topic in General Discussion
At the very least place 6 mil vapour barrier under the basement floor. Spray foam can be placed under there for $1.50 a square foot. Insulation pays for itself within reason. Stack pressure is very significant in these tightly sealed homes. The basement slab is becoming a significant culprit. A good seal is critical imo and a little insulation helps gets rid of the cold floor feeling. The offset for spraing foam in the basement vs paying for insulation batts may not be overwhelming. You need to consider operating costs that will never get cheaper than now imo. I am Scottish, not trying to upsell, i'm trying to save you money in the long term and make your house as comfortable as possible with budget in mind. -

Type G is in reference to the building package that was submitted at the time of permit. There is A,B,C,------J. It Lays out the R values of walls, under slabs , attics, basements, windows and the effieciency of mechanical equipment. It appears that you are going with a package similar with G ----R24 walls R50 attic......so on. Are you heating the basement slab.. With a finished basement there are steps that are important and commonly overloooked by homeowners\ builders. Sealing the basement walls is extremely important and insulating under the slab IMO.The room over the garage is another critical area to be addressed as far as making it comfortable down the road. Is this a home you plan on staying at for many years...If so there are spots where a little extra money at build can be well worth it down the road. Again this is IMO but I do have 20 years experience in the 4th generation business. -

There is some bog/lag when you give her the smack of throttle to achieve plane. Once it starts to grab it gathers rpms and away she climbs. The 15hp is running perfctly imo also, thiking it is the weight thing. I guesstimate boat ,motor, gear, gas, and me at 800lbs at least.
-
The boat only weighs 400lbs. WOT she runs about 18-19 mph according to the hbird.
-
What apparatus do i need to find the rpm's

Is consistently running a 2 stroke outboard at Wide open Throttle a very bad thing? With not much boat experience, i can't decide if this is a pure sign that I need to go for more h.p. Its a 15 yamaha on 14'6" with factory floor starcraft. The boat is rated at 25hp max, I have beeen looking at some 25's, but I am a little gun shy due to the fact that I'm not looking for more speed necessarily. It is the fact to keep he boat up on the best plane I need to keep the 15hp gunnned. The other thing I'm not wanting is an overpowered boat that sticks the nose 6' in the air when you get on the throttle. Thanks for your input/experience Matt
