1. I feel your pain Roger. I know how dedicated a man you are to whatever endeavour you undertake. Whether it be work, family, fishing, music or whatever. Bass Pro Shops is a very large and well run organization. You and I are both old enough to know that the bigger you are, the more often you'll be criticized....rightly or wrongly. I don't go to the BPS Vaughan store very often because it's really quite a distance for me. The times that I HAVE been there, I have always been impressed by the service. But then again, in all the years that I've been dealing with the public, I honestly cannot remember ever being ill-treated by any retailer. It might boil down to attitude. Anyhow, you have a great day Roger and remember what Tennessee Guy posted.
2. Thanks Brian. You're all heart.
3. Good morning Rob. There are a lot of folks in the OFC community making their own baits. Be they wire baits, hard baits, soft baits, jigs, leaders etc...and some of them are experts at it. I won't try to name any here because I'm sure I'll forget some. One of the best places for you to start is one of our own sponsors, luremaking.com. I've been dealing with them for quite some time and they never disappoint. Their website not only shows their most up to date components and tools catalogue but also the free downloadable Canadian Guide to Lure Making. Take a browse through it by clicking HERE! I'm sure that other folks will chime in with other advice. Enjoy yourself, it's a great hobby.
4. Welcome back. Hope your business is running well.
5. What the heck happened there, Dax??
6. AHHHHHH Cliff, I hope you and Sue get the power back soon. I know that you're a self-sufficient kinda guy but nobody needs the hassle. Be well my friend.
7. And 4 of those days are shirtless too eh?
8. Don't know if you have plans for the 4th weekend in May but if you're in the area, I may have a few 2- 2 1/2 pounders here then.
9. I lined them up on the couch and threw on a Jacques Cousteau DVD for'em bud. As far as the the smaller lobsters being better. I think that was just a rumour started by folks who couldn't afford the larger ones.
10. If you say so. I'll keep all the large ones for OFC company.
11. Pipe down Canoe Crack!
12. Yeah, I'm still hearing about that muskie/lobster story Dan.
13. We were talking about Boxing day specials earlier. I didn't really need anything and I didn't really feel like crowd fighting but, J saw a special on filet mignon that she wanted. So, off we go. The stuff was $4.99 a pound. They had them all sliced up etc .. so I asked the dude if I could buy the whole loins. He said yes. Ok so I got 3 of them and cut them to the thickness that we wanted and vacuum packed them. That was a good deal. Then, good ol' J says there are also lobsters on special let's see what they're like. There were a bunch of cookie cutter size lobs at $5.99 EACH. These were all 1 3/4 pounders. Good deal so I thought I'd take a dozen but there were only 9 so I asked the dude (a new young guy) how much the larger ones were per pound. He said, "same as the small ones...$5.99 EACH." That was a crazy price but I took some large ones anyhow and when the seafood manager came into sight, I asked HIM what the price of the larger ones was and he told me the same thing. UNBELIEVABLE! So, I took 6 of the large ones and headed off to the checkout. I felt like that commercial thing..."Step on the gas Ethel!". Anyhow, here are two pics of the difference in size. The first pic is the 'cookie cutter' size. The second pic is the size of the large ones. Best lobster deals I've ever gotten. We had a big feed of them last night and left the rest alive to have tonight......I'd better call up some folks to come to help us eat those. ps. This wasn't even Boxing Day.....it was the day after.
14. Nice to see you got out Simon. And a nice bonus walleye at the end too! Thanks for sharing and I hope your Bud's medical emergency turned out ok.
15. Sorry billy bob...didn't mean to offend you with the facts. In the future, any kind of a safety issue I might have, I'll come straight to you for the best answer. You be well, AND SAFE!
16. UMMM Fisherman, I thought that I would just give a heads up to anyone who might have been looking for trailer rims/tires. Could have been 16" tires. Buy trailer tires.
17. That's a beauty for sure, Chris. Must be lotsa guys wishing they were 20 again. I got a Centro two years ago...works very well but it doesn't hold a candle to Wayne's daughter's piece of art.
18. The "ST" designation means "special trailer". Do NOT use passenger car "P" or light truck "LT" tires on a trailer. You should be able to get decent 13" rim/tire for about $100 a piece.
19. Yeah, it's always the closest dudes who don't go to the get togethers eh?
20. I was opening pressies and feeding grandkids till 1AM. Was also doing my shift on air traffic control for the big guy in the red suit. What do ya want from me? Merry Christmas everyone! ps. I'll second the self-timer option for Adrianne.
21. Sounds like a pretty good candidate for our next G2G.
22. I understand your concern but this is how it works. When you register, you are assigned the next number on the list. If someone was to register under another name to have two accounts, one of the accounts would be dropped by administration.....so, the account numbers would continue to increase but the number of members would actually decrease. (as an example) That's why the account number is always greater than the actual number of members. edit: We also do housecleaning from time to time to remove inactive accounts.
23. Congrats to you Randy! You'll be looking spiffy in the OFC gear. Keep them posts a comin'!
24. Sorry I can't help you with the flasher question Bud but welcome aboard and if I were you, I'd PM either TJ or Roy as soon as possible.
