For those of you who have home security systems, you already have a 12V, 7 or 7.5AH battery it the box. This is always kept charged via a transformer on your home power. Buy another battery for the system and keep swapping between the two as you need them. The battery will always be charged when you're ready to go.

I find the practice of "fishing" for salmon who are within days of dying, disgusting.

If you're not gunna be needing your balls anymore, you can wrap a slingshot around your neighbour's front axle, wrap the the other end to your un-needed balls then drive away. The priceless part is when your neighbour sees your balls go right through his rad.

Also, in spite of what you might read, you do not need a leader when walleye fishing. Pike and muskie (esox) have sharp edged teeth and can easily cut through line. Walleye on the other hand have conical teeth and would very rarely cut through line. The only time I might use a leader while walleye fishing is when the water is pike infested. It doesn't happen often at all.

Here's another thing. As sturdy and well built as those salties are, imagine them being passed over your gunnels and clamping directly to the aluminum....what is it, 1.8mm.... .072" ? That'd just defeat the purpose of having a heavy-duty holder in the first place. Not to mention the damage to your paint job both interior and exterior. IMHO
