  1. Hang tight, Chris. Do what the docs tell you to do and in no time you'll be out enjoying quality time with your daughter then that fantastic first fishing outing with her. Stay well.
  2. That's great! Show us a pic when you get a chance.
  3. Thanks Lew, means a lot coming from you. Yeah Bob it's a good pastime because almost anyone can make them. You don't need a lot of space and you can pick it up or leave it without having to setup tools or anything. I don't sell them though.
  4. Can at least give it a try eh?
  5. Yes Paul but also in the spring and fall, there are a few spots that hold very good sized fish and these jigs with a trailer do the job. More than half the fish fall to the trailer. You can buy them almost anywhere in those sizes (up to 6 ounces or so actually) but I kinda like whiling away the cold season messing with them.
  6. Good stuff, Tony. And yes, that car on the ice. Some people stay alive in spite of themselves.
  7. You're kinda right. These a special dual purpose markers. Both indelible AND inedible.
  8. There's an area just off the shipping channel east of here where they're particularly good.
  9. I started making some of these recently. These are 1.5 ounce buck tail jigs....a standard tie with a few dark vertical lines in the buck tail using an indelible marker. Add a trailer of some kind to them for the short biters and I'm in business. You have to go much smaller in the summer but in the spring and fall, these are great here. Fifty or sixty and I'm good for the season.
  10. Don't get upset now, Skip. Remember what the doctor said. I'm only pulling your leg. I don't even talk to people I don't like. Just ask Pauline Marois if I've ever spoken to her.....
  11. And something else to know is that if the municipality tells you that you need a permit, it still doesn't oblige you to get one. It simply determines what time of the day you have to get the work done and how fast you have to do it.
  12. And this thread will go on and on and on and on... just call or visit the appropriate municipal authority, get the correct answer. Get the job done and you won't need to sleep with one eye open. Or, you can print out this thread and use it as your defense in court..."But your honour, my fishing buds told me it was ok!" just won't cut it.
  13. Same as a security system charger, Bill. I just swap mine out when I need a battery. They're always fully charged.
  14. Took you 20 minutes to type that?
  15. I would have added that to my post but you told me not to say anything!
  16. I don't doubt that you could buy the welded hull and have a super boat, Mike. But something to consider is that should you have a hull problem while up there with the wife and kids on your yearly vacation, it'd be a snap to repair a few rivets as opposed to a cracked hull. You at least would not have lost you and your family's vacation time.
  17. Thanks for sharing, The ling look great too...lots of good meat in there.
  18. I would ask the people who could ultimately cause you grief if the by-law wasn't followed and that would be your city/town administration. Give them a call, they'll give you the scoop on what you can and cannot do.
  19. Thanks Bob....that's an important find on your part. Great of you to share it.
  20. Much better deals on their outerwear for the next week.
  21. Let's keep it civil please.
  22. Nice pics Catherine.
  23. Good stuff, Greg. Thanks for the report.
  24. Great fish, Josh, congrats to you!
  25. We're a sovereign country, I'd like to see that provision.
