  1. Man, that net was a good investment. He loves that thing. Great vocabulary on the dude too! Priceless, Simon. Thanks bunches for sharing. Now I have to go finish some cement work before we get those bad dark clouds.
  2. As others have said, really great that you were able to capture that. Thanks for showing it. You do know that it's illegal to use walleye for bait eh?
  3. An epic trip with your Dad, Sean. Anyone would be hard done by trying to match the size of those monsters. Looks like you took advantage of all the time you had too! Congrats and thanks for this Nipigon report.
  4. Great report Dana. Looks like a peaceful time out there. Years ago it wasn't often you'd see wolves out in the open in broad daylight. That seems to be changing somehow. Some fat specks in there, congrats and thanks for posting.
  5. I was looking at your gar picture last night. It's a great photo, the head on that monster almost looks mechanical/man-made. The thread has been up 37 hours or so and you have 800 views so I'm not the only one enjoying it. There's no middle ground with you, Larry. Whichever species you target, whether it be crappie, muskie, pike, gar whatever, you go for the brass ring. Thanks a bunch for posting. Now all I gotta say is "Hats off to Larry"
  6. Did you happen to notice what their source is for Ontario records?
  7. The reason that's there Lew is to stop spam bots from getting in and it works better than anything else we've ever tried. edited to add: You'll also notice that our newest member is our 8022nd member but his board number is 13175. That's because we screen everyone who comes in here.....40% didn't make the cut. It's the best we can do for the time being.
  8. Yeah, they're about $5 here too. I rarely buy them although I did buy some last week. If I mow the lawn before a good rain, I can go out late that night and pick enough for the season.
  9. Oh look! 245 views already! Must be lurkers.
  10. And that's fine Beagle Dad, that's your prerogative...no one has a problem with that.
  11. Just one cowgirl would be fine with me, Pete. If they happen to be twins well hey, that's fine too!
  12. You're right....and that makes the members only thing redundant eh?
  13. That's a good question, Dave. FisherPete has that pegged pretty well. This is the situation as we know it. The number of views vs. the number of replies will never make sense. If I post a fishing report, depending on the time of day, subject title etc...I'll get 5 views. Then someone replies. Once the reply is posted, the 5 people who viewed and myself go back to view the thread again to see what the the reply was. And on it goes. Very soon you end up with 150 views and 4 replies. Very few lurkers come in to read reports because there is just too much to read and they have no search privilege. So to answer your question, NO, I don't think so. PS. There are other readers as well....the bots...Google, Yahoo, Bing and the like.
  14. The difference between the Premium and the Platinum is that the Platinum gives you High-resolution satellite photo overlay, 3-Dimensional view and Panoramic port photo.
  15. Which are you going to be? The mother or the late son?
  16. The one in the picture is an alligator. A caiman lizard is completely different and does not resemble any of the crocodilians.
  17. Thanks for the update RangerGuy.
  18. I've never had a problem with this kind of thing. We might have a little problem with this thread if it keeps going in the same direction though. Research what you want to buy and who you want to buy it from. If you have a problem with your purchase, don't stop at the salesperson with whom you dealt. C'mon, you can do it, you're smarter than that!
  19. That's what the MNR's objective is. To have the opening date AFTER the spawn. I don't think there'll be that much difference with years past. Even if they are in their summer haunts, they still will come in shallower for feeding opportunities.
  20. Don't expect to recharge your trolling motor battery with you main outboard. You'll need a dedicated charger for that.
  21. It's really nice to dream and yes, most of the above places would be nice but often, especially if you have a spouse, you're never going to want to be very far from medical services. That's the reality for most folks of retirement age. There's also, as Grimace said, the fact that your children shouldn't be too far away unless you don't mind only seeing them once or twice a year. If you're both healthy and you can retire at a young enough age, these 'realities' are less important.
  22. Great report! Thanks for sharing. ummm Is that what Thursday is going to look like?
  23. I take it that part is rubber? I'd countersink an appropriately sized piece of wood in its place.
  24. Out of curiosity, what is the part?
  25. Another fantastic report, Rick! Thanks for that. Man am I ever glad that I'm on Team G-Man!
