  1. Typical government agency at work.....
  2. Problem is my "old" LMS 520c unit will not compute anything above a Premium card.
  3. Nice report and GOOD EATS....
  4. They are attracted to warmer water areas. If this is something you never had done before it's best to follow the crowd until you learn the best spots on your own...My favorite were east of the lower Niagara River and east and west of Olcott Harbor.
  5. Finesse is MUCH better achived with a bow mounted TM...so I would recommend a Minn Kota Power Drive TM with a quick release motor mount, like this one....http://www.cabelas.com/product/Boating/Electric-Trolling-Motors/Electric-Trolling-Motor-Accessories%7C/pc/104794380/c/104716980/sc/104312880/Minn-Kota-Quick-Release-Trolling-Motor-Mount/700189.uts?destination=%2Fcatalog%2Fbrowse%2Fboating-electric-trolling-motors-electric-trolling-motor-accessories%2F_%2FN-1100550%2FNs-CATEGORY_SEQ_104312880%3FWTz_l%3DSBC%253BMMcat104794380%253Bcat104716980&WTz_l=SBC%3BMMcat104794380%3Bcat104716980%3Bcat104312880 As for motor size I would only get a 12 volt system to save on weight and space because this would only be used occasionally per your post.....so about a 50lb thrust and a Group 27 Deep Cycled battery should get you about 3 to 4 days with occasional usage. Bob
  6. With walleye close here in NYS until the first Sat in May I will have to make do with LOTS of crappies until then...
  7. If "jig tying" were also being taught and I was much closer I would do it in a heart beat....we need to keep our youth interested in the Great Outdoors (and I don't mean the movie).....you never know what will trigger a kid's attention to get involved. Come on guys....time to belly up to the bar.... Bob
  8. I'm on my 3rd and each one gets better with the latest being a Nikon S-570....what I like about this one is the lithium ion battery it came with....no more batteries to buy or AAA to recharge. Light weight, thin and small is my take on these things...making it convenient to carry.......what good is a SUPER DUPER camera if it's a big bruiser to put in your pocket. But that's just my take and needs. Bob
  9. It don't matter....either way I can't read....
  10. You spelled "center" wrong.... :rofl2:
  11. It's best not to assume when your dealing with the lower unit...a pressure test of the lower unit will tell all....
  12. The Volley is back to you wallacio.... .....since this whole thread including the title is about the NIAGARA RIVER I'm safe to assume it's LEGAL and OK to use the damn bait....
  13. Yep......planer boards will get you the most fish.....but long lining will still get you some fish....as said top baits are Rapala's in Orange, Blue, Gold or Silver....stick baits (long thin Rapala's) work best in very shallow water (5-8') while the jointed Rapala's will dive down to 8' so their best in the 10-15' areas. Look for small cup bay areas that trap warm surface water on light wind days....and dress WARM...65 degrees on land will be 40-45 degrees on Lake Ontario. Bob
  14. What Cliff said....but what color is the Oil/Grease......if black it's from the exhaust and forget about it and go fishing....if it's clear like....Houston, we have a problem...
  15. Hello Again....did you not read my above post.....they have been in the Great Lakes before you and I were born and are here to stay even though the "MNR" doesn't approve.....DUH..
  16. Sounds like my kind of fishing....and I'll bring the beer....errrr bait...
  17. HELLO....am I missing something here.....the Niagara River, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario are filthy with smelt....dead, frozen or alive should be and is legal in NYS as well as in Ontario, Canada......
  18. That's if I don't forget to go.....
  19. Bottom line.....TM and kickers are not for back up IMHO.......been fishing almost my whole life and NEVER had a need to have a "back up" motor and I fish the Great Lakes a LOT........maintain your main motor as much as possible and GO FISHING..... BTW.....do you have a back up motor on your tow vehicle...I don't...but I have a TOYOTA TUNDRA....LOL.. Toyota Bob....
  20. You just don't like Tipping....(heard through the grape vine)...
  21. I posted and sold my old TM and also my fish finder to the same guy.....and had several other offers for them....but of course I priced them right.....I would rather sell something at a VERY reasonable price for 2 reasons.... 1....it's used and if I get whatever is better then nothing. 2....if it craps out on the guy I sold to shortly after the sale, he and I wouldn't feel bad about the sale experience. Bob
  22. There's always take out.....JUST KIDDING....
  23. Never tried it but wouldn't a $15 card reader do it.
  24. After pulling the EAST card out for the numbers that Roy requested I was going to put in a card that covers the French River but this card doesn't have depths, etc......LOW and BEHOLD I found the CANADA HotSpots Premium card purchased about 3 years ago and it in deed covers all the Kawarthans including Sturgeon Lake...DUH ! ! !
  25. Actually, I take that as good news......maybe some crappie fishing is in store next week... :clapping:
