  5. Hey all.......... I feel stupid for having to have to ask this but here goes......... Thats what you OFC members are here for...correct? Installed a trailer hitcth acessory to the truck. It is square tube steel that slides into the counterpart on the truck, secured by about a 1/2" bent rod which is angled so's not to come out and on the otherside there is a groove for a cotterpin. Came out of the grocers tonight and someone was trying to remove it as I approached the truck. The cotter pin was broken on the ground and the square tube steel hitch was lying there. How do you successfully secure this hitch as it is?......OR, Do you just bring it in at night? Ive had hitch's in the past but each and everyone was welded to my truck. What say 'Ye All???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
  6. snag, heard that before once........... Hilarious Bud...freaking hilarious.. its just as good today.

  8. that was really awesome you, you, you lucky gal!!!!!!!!!!! Couldnt have happened to nicer folk. Ive had the priv of meeting Dave a few times and he seems to be the real McCoy. Sara, our daughter, (LilBrick), has recieved all kinds of neat stuff from him as well. Good on ya for donning the OFC gear Joey. Our free WFN ran out, but in the new home Ive already arranged for its connection the day we move in...guess thats why we've got the truck for 4 days..it can sit in the driveway while we watch our very own Joey on the tube. WTG gal.you rock!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. geeeze Wayne.... that looks alot like burger king....... sorry Phil.... Go 'buckeyes
  10. Like Chuck.I stack 6-50lb bags of what else....'Brick Sand', across the axle area of the truck bed...and also if you're ever stuck you can break one or more open for extra traction. There was a time I would stack.... 8" blocks in the same area but they took too much room when I needed it for other purposes. I never once had a problem with movement of the blocks in any situation as they are pourous and absorb water/melted snow etc..and would freeze in place.
  11. Great thread Blyght.... and a long overdue CONGRATS on your PB this year Superstitions..... ....not really But I have found Ive become increasingly nervous about going fishing with Mark, (fishdawg). The guy always out fishes me...and even more.. any place Ive brought him to...neither one of us catch a thing. Maybe I'll wear a backpack or bring my childhood reel with me this year on the ice for whities
  12. Nice fish there snag. Got out to the islands early this year just the one time with my youngest and just havent made the time to get back again. It's OK, I can live it through you guys who frequent the islands. Sorry to hear about your un-answered calls from DSN..... Your reports are freaking hilarious....keep it up! peter
  13. pikehunter...PM sent. Sorry mods........tried to pm him from member directory and it wouldnt allow me.
  14. ....a recent annual Conference held in Winnipeg by P.E.T.A, where one speaker representing the O.F.A.H put up a brave debate over P3TA's recent slew of slanderish advertising methods only to be met with a big thumbs down climbed aboard a small plane to return home to Toronto afterward. ...the tiny plane encountered severe wind turbulance from off of Lake Superior and crashed just west of Espanola. ...the 11 survivors were clinging whiteknuckled to a vine, perched high up on a rock face of the Great Canadian Shield. Of these survivors, were 10 members of P3TA and the lone rep from OFAH. ...as a group, no longer reps for a cause, they decided that one person must let go so the vine wouldnt break and all would perish. ...the silence was deafening.....No volunteers! ...finally the rep from OFAH gave a truly touching speech and said he would sacrifice himself to save the others. ...The 10 members from P3TA Applauded.
  15. Rog.... What are the chances of hearing you fellas at an OFC g2g one of these days? We should have a talent night one time I think.....Rick, w/douG,Roy etc...as well. Peter

  17. An exellent idea. Cooks Bay is an absolute blast for a family g2g. All members of my family get out for the hard water fishing. We are deffinitely doing Maureens g2g for Tyler too!!!..last year was fun for all.
  18. Yesssirie........that is one pig of a fish! Had that e-mailed me from the NAFC just monday I think..thought the guy looked familiar. Thanks for sharring that with us Bud! Peter
  19. Mo, I fished a little in Alberta this past summer, and not one tackle shop sold barbless hooks that I frequented. I even fished with locals and actual tackle shop owners at times, Same thing????????/ I was real curious about it... All anyone did was pinch the barb ever so lightly until you heard a click. That usually was all it takes..then run your finger towards the point to make sure it was sufficient. There was a post not to long back just about this and someone brought up a good point(LOL) "Push the hook through a piece of paper and if it tugs or makes the hole bigger on the way out it is not sufficiently barbless".... If that is what a CO might put you through...Id make double sure it worked. As this is for just a childs safety, the method I mentioned above should suffice. Pete
  20. Ahhh Roger.....That was just too great.!!!!! You guys are really talented.... Reminds of back home..no insult intended at all. Back home is NovaScotia. I hope you dont mind but I downloaded that baby for x-mas viewing in our home. Long live 'FISHGUTS'.... rEALLY ENJOYED IT bUD!
  21. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thankyou everyone......... I'm sweating reading these responses........ Charmaine is in tears........ After everything that had happened back some 4 years ago I couldnt see the day for darkness. Instinct and the need to keep my lovely bride, kept me plugging each day. I dont think a day went by that she didnt remind me about losing our home... Thank the good Lord thats over with. ....and that sucker still owes me the money though and it is before the courts, there was a day when I was a mite younger and I would have handled it a little differently. Well, maybe I'll start to gain some weight back with the stress factor being lifted finally. Again, Thank-You all........many of you were around when all this went down back when and again I send my greatest appreciation out to all of you for the support at that time. BTW... Anyone fished these waters before? We are 5 min. south of Stirling, right in the town of Frankford.
  22. It seems like it was only yesterday that I lost my business because some clown figured away around not paying me for work completed by using the union against me to do so. We lost everything, I mean everything, including our Home a Truck and 2 Boats. Well its been a slow uphill battle and this year I managed to put a new truck in the driveway, purchase a small boat........settle our oldest son into a great job in GrandePrairie Alberta....... And, Yesterday, Signed the mortgage papers on our....NEW HOME!!!!!!!! We are crazy with excitement... It has 196' of water frontage on the east side of the Trent River in Frankford just 15 minutes north of the 401 at Trenton. BOQ is about a 30 minute boat ride away from my backyard. I've only one strap left on my boots from having been pulling them up so hard these past few years, maybe Santa will bring me a new pair of boots this Christmas. We move in this December 21st......lousy time of year to move but Charmaine wants to be in for Christmas. Only one pic so far and it is a far away shot of my father on the dock. Our computer will be down for a week or two over christmas though....I think we'll handle that just fine.
  23. Hey fishfinder.. This past summer I had the oppurtunity to fish many of Albertas Lakes and a few tribs, and all fishing is 'Barbless'. While there, I also had the plesasure of being able to fish with some local residents and even a tackle shop owner. All we/they would do was take a regular pair of pliers or needlenose and gently squeeze down on the 'Barb' until you heard a 'Click' and double check by rubbing your finger over the Barb toward the point. It passed as being 'Barbless' according to local C.O's.... But as mentioned by another above, The Paper Test.....if thats what the reg's state I would go by that alone cuz you never know, you may run into a C.O who would do just that. The only barbless hooks available that I could find out there were the very small #12-14 trout hooks and all others were sold w/barbs and had to be crimped manually.
  24. Ive hit my Trib every morning this week. Nadda, nadda, nadda.......Ive been there before tho Ive walked this trib since the mid seventys and know just about every hole there is to There are fish there always... you have to spend the time to find out what they want that day.. Some days you have to pay special attention to your approach to the river side so's not to spook and on other days you may have to drift from the opposite side of the water. Either way, the fish are always there no matter the cons.... Time on the water is whats it all about Ill be at 'er again tommorrow. Best of luck to you. Using an assortment of sizes and colours of both troutNsalmon eggs right now.
  25. BornNraisedN, south/east Nova Scotia ..moved to Willowdale,Ontario with the folks Then.......... Pickering, Ontario Detroit, Michigan Galveston, Texas Lake Mary, Florida Murray, Kentucky Columbus, Ohio ......couldnt make my (her)mind up...so back to Pickering, Ontario All going well...we'll be moving into our new home this December 21st, on the Trent River just 10 minutes north of the 401 with about 12 miles between the locks of great fishing. BTW, this is about a 15minute drive to the BOQ....OOOooooooYaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!
