  1. Good idea, we could videotape all the entries being tied and then sell a DVD of all the patterns at the end
  2. Interesting, was that from a stream or lake? Just wondering cause I don't think I've ever heard of stones in a lake, then again I might just be an idiot LOL
  3. I was just looking at the mustad scandinavian open page and it looks pretty fun. But I'm not going to fly to Norway just to tie some flies, so I was thinking about hosting one around here. I know there's a pretty healthy population of fly fishers in Ontario and I'm trying to get a feel for what kind of a crowd it could draw. There would be 6 categories, streamers, nymphs, dries, most accurate, a mystery fly, and classic/decorative salmon flies. Flies would be judged on symmetry, cleanliness, creativity and accuracy (when compared to the real thing). If enough people are interested I think we could do it around September? Anyways, just getting a feel. Thanks!
  4. Was just looking around, came across this article, good read. http://www.hatchesmagazine.com/page/month/342
  5. Nice Bunk! But I think you mean top left Looking at some hatch charts it might also be worthwhile to bring some BWO's. Edit: Sweet looking blue charms! Real nice heads
  6. wooly buggers! And maybe a couple crazy flashy flies, they work well on migratories, why not resident
  7. Hey Roy, can we make a section for all the best reports? Just have like a voting system to get in?
  8. Wow! Great read indeed, some nice fishies to go along with it
  9. Well there was the symposium last week, and like I said there will be at least one booth at the hamilton tackle swap
  10. Nice! My hat's made of lead, it blocks the radiation better
  11. You should be fine, especially since so many people fish G-bay for pike. But I agree with old ironmaker, keep your baits on the smaller side (6"), remember most bait in the spring is smaller, and the fish should be fairly aggressive.
  12. The show you're thinking of is the Hamilton tackle swap, I'll be there selling bass and pike flies, musky lures and a few fly rods, there might be some others selling fly fishing stuff too.
  13. You guys think the small creeks will be ok tomorrow?
  14. Thanks for posting this. Scary stuff...
  15. Hey B, I won't have many trout flies since I don't think I'll be getting a very big trout fly fishing crowd, but if you have some in particular in mind let me know and they'll be waiting for you
  16. Haha, ya. Except the pike and perch are a different lake, this one is only carp.
  17. Sure. Ya we were on a small lake with hundreds of fish, best carp lake I know. Then we went for pike and perch and caught a bunch of them
  18. I tried ice fishing them, never doing that again. But I'll be fishing soft water the next 2 days, I'll probably give the carp another try in may or something.
  19. I posted a thread in announcements. I have quite a few pike flies, bass. Bugs and musky spinners that will be for sale. Also some rods and t shirts
