  1. Big thanks to Cliff for the offer (save me the $10 in pvc tubing and $500 in medical fees reattaching the fingers I'd loose cutting it) and thanks to WestJet for having very clear rules on their website specifically for fishing: Fishing equipment * A set consisting of a fishing rod and tackle box will be accepted. * The oversized fee will be waived, but the overweight or excess piece fee will be charged if applicable. * Fishing rods must be encased in a hard shell cylinder fishing rod container. Sweet, lookout walleye, I'm coming home for dinner
  2. Thanks Stoty, Storm should be paying you a commission, I see a few Chug Bug sales in the near future.
  3. Thanks for the responses everyone. Can't believe I didn't think of the home made route. Cliff - I'd love to see/borrow yours thanks a bunch for the offer, drop me a pm with the details but only if its not a problem (you know, in case your planning any trips in the next 10 days ).
  4. Thanks Tom. Definetely helps. By the way, did you get dinged for any extra fees when flying with it (I'll be flying west jet)?
  5. Hey everyone, heading up to Thunder Bay next week for the annual walley fishing trip with the old gang and this year for a change I'm not going to borrow my brothers gear (broke a tip on him last year, not sure he'd let me if I wanted to hehe). Does anyone here have any experience with the various travel tubes out there (like the Plano airliner or Flambeau rod case)? I've been reading the reviews on the bass pro site and almost all seem to have some horror stories attached so I'm hoping some of the gang here can weigh in. I was thinking of bringing some one pieces (7') but I might just stick with the 2 pieces (more options in transport that way). It'll be 3 rods probably all spinning if that helps. Thanks in advance Sean
  6. Wow thats one long toothy bass . Congrats on the monster and thanks for the great pics.
  7. What a little piece of heaven you've got there. I don't how you manage to drag yourself away, I don't think I'd ever leave
  8. Congrats on the firsts and thanks for the great pics and stories to go with them. Sounds like a great weekend was had by all.
  9. Congrats Rick and everyone else who made the trip and of course the organizers. It's great seeing all the reports with everyone gushing over how much fun they had, another successful year by the sounds of it.
  10. Wow, what a great report. Can feel the excitement of the topwater right through the screen. Catching the explosion on film was great, kudos to your wife. I'm Heading up to Stoney this friday, if you've got any tips I'd love to hear 'em
  11. Wow some great fish there.
  12. Nice fish and great job on the boat.
  13. Nice fish guys congrats
  14. Mmmmm rented meat mmmm. Great pics but damn, dangling legs in the water while bringing a muskie in - I'm assuming there some 'getting out of the way' mode for when the thrash at the side with a bunch of dangling hooks around
  15. I'll just echo what everyone else said - great pics especially that accidental one. Thanks
  16. I think next year someone needs to contribute a laptop with a cellular modem (going out on a limb and assuming no wi-fi out there) so we can daily updates. I can't wait to see the flurry of photos and stories next week. I'm pretty sure the best stories won't have much to do with the fishing . Have fun out there everyone.
  17. Loved the photo effects Al - very cool (really love that first one). Thanks for sharing.
  18. ^^^ Why I love this board. Your a good man Cliff.
  19. Beauty fish, congrats on you first muskie.
  20. Article about them and how to fish them by the man himself: How I Fish the Senko - by Gary Yamamoto
  21. Great report, thanks a bunch.
  22. Great pics Mepps, dang turtles just don't know when you're out to help them eh?
  23. Thats awesome Jedi, the 'yak dealers should be sponsoring you. On a related note, have you tried using the sit on top kayaks at all? You (and reports from others) have me browsing/googling around the kayak fishing sites and the options are blinding me so any advice you might have would really be appreciated.
  24. Sounds like a great weekend, the kids look like they had a blast.
  25. Thanks but it was really more Rob than me (I just seem to have a big horseshoe crammed where the sun don't shine - I always catch decent fish when out with guys who know what their doing but they usually get skunked when I'm with them, go figure hehe). We actually had a few good walleye hits as well, one cut Robs minnow exactly in half (we were using 4-5" minnows) and one skinned my minnow from the gill right down to the tail. I felt the solid hit and set it but all I felt was the same kind of feel you get when you drag your hook up a weed trunk. Left the line to see if he'd come back then pulled it in and found out I'd pulled the minnow out of his mouth while leaving most of its outside with the 'eye - guess I had the hannibal lector walleye.
