I'm starting to get a little sick of the frays I'm getting on my current mono (Vanish Transition) 10 lb, so I am thinking of switching to a braid 10 to 12 lb. Would this put an end to the frays and does it have any other benefits. I'm a little concerned about the visibility of it but I will make the switch if it's not that much of an issue. Oh yeah I'm mostly targeting Bass (in season of course). Thanks.

Took a friend of mine who has been fishing for about 30+ years out to the Talbot yesterday to see the Walleye run. Needless to say he was awestruck at the size of these monsters. He was telling me stories the way there about seeing people with big walleye etc...When we got there he was at a loss for words. Anyway if you can get the chance take the family out to see this event.

Couchiching has a bit of slushy ice on the surface which will probably be gone by the weekend. Simcoe seems clear as far as the eye can see.

I ended up checking it out again and turns out they are there now. Some nice big ones too if anyones interested. I'll be getting some pics and posting them soon.

I was at the Talbot river on Sunday and the walleye have not come up the river yet. I was wondering if anyone has heard anything in the past couple days. Seems they are really late this year.

I used to work at a resort and they had a duck pond. Each year the swans would have Signets sp? and apparently there was a massive snapping turtle that would take them all the time. I remember seeing around six of them, next day five and so on usually only 1 or 2 survived.

I try really hard to be a Leafs fan. I honestly think being a brain surgeon is easier to do. I'm rooting for them tonight, it's gonna be a war!

A couple Canadian guys die and find themselves in Hell. The next day Satan comes to check on them. The Canadians are wearing their toques and drinking and carrying on having a good time. Satan is surprised to see they're not in misery so he cranks up the heat. Satan comes back again to see if the Canadians are suffering. Again he finds them drinking and partying, having a great time. So Satan asks them, "What's wrong with you guys? Isn't it hot enough for you? Everyone else here is in misery and you guys are happy." The Canadian reply, "We come from the land of ice and snow, we're happy to warm up a bit." So next day Satan cranks up the heat to full. All the minions of Hell are gasping for breath, sweating and in total misery. Satan comes back to check on the Canadians. Stunned, he finds them again laughing and drinking and barbecuing some hamburgers and asks why they're so happy. "After so many long cold winters, we love the heat, bring it on!!" say the Canadians. So Satan, totally furious, thinks about ways to punish the Canadians. "Aha! If they're enjoying the heat so much, I'll take it away from them." So Satan turns off the Hellfires. Next day, icicles are forming in the cavernous depths of hell. All the condemned souls of Hell are shivering and suffering in the cold. So Satan checks in on the Canadians. He finds them happier than ever, wearing their toques, jumping up and down laughing and hollering, empty beer bottles strewn all about. He asks them, " What is your problem? I turn up the heat all the way you don't suffer. I turn off the heat, you don't suffer. What the hell is wrong with you guys? Why are you always so happy?" The Canadians reply, "Don't you know, Hell froze over, it means the Leafs must have won the Cup!"

I was driving by the top end of Simcoe the other day and it almost looked as if it was open in some spots way out. The ice was still all around the shorelines for a km or 2 but certainly looked open to me. I checked the satellite view but too many clouds the past couple days to see.

At the Narrows here in Orillia these guys make a stopover for a couple weeks and then take off up north I see them every year and I got some pic this time. I see a few goldeneyes and maybe a few mergansers.

This was a crazy storm coming in. Same day that road in Toronto got washed away.

That's crazy!! I've done about 115 mph in my car and that was fast, but at that speed (250mph)could you imagine if you had to sneeze! Apparently the stereo in that car costs $40,000 alone.

2006 Jack Adams Award (Coach of the Year) went to Lindy Ruff. Maybe he was a little angry at the time but I doubt there are many coaches that would not have done the same thing. I used to hate Buffalo but it's hard to ignore a talented team.
