Lots of boats when they get near there weight limit have issues getting on plane. Take some ballast and put it in the bow and see how that changes the ride. You can try a 4 or 5 blade prop that will also get you up quicker but you will increase slip and lose a bit on the top end.Does your prop have vent holes? If it does try opening the vent holes and see if you can get on plane faster. Some boats I have been in you gotta realy hammer it to get on plane then once on plane you can back off. No boat rides the same. I had a stratos I had to hammer the heck out of to get it on plane than I could cut the throttle way back. my lund I could just sneak up slowly and get on plane. You probably have a number of things going on. Too much weight in the back. Possibly a prop that isn't suited for the boat or weight, not enough trim(Trim tabs can help, a whale tail will help, also you can wedge the motor to give you more trim). If you are able to get on plane than you are a whole lot further ahead than what you think. I have seen people not even able to get on plane in a new boat. Sounds like you are probably a bit of weight a bit too far back. if you have access to some lower pitched props, or a high five, or a 4 blade prop, give that a try. I would bet that a 5 pitch prop 1 degree lower than what you have would get you comfy.

I don't think going off the grid needs to be expensive. Especially if you have a few hundred acres and water. Wood stove, propane fridge and stove, solar panels for lights and TV. Genny for backup.

Have been playing around a bit and was wondering how people get those shots at night where a near object like a person is in focus as well as the star field? Are these all just stacked images?
-
Why don't we just institute rolling blackouts? Leave the critical service grids up 24x7 and roll blackouts for the rest. I would live it if Toronto would shut down for a few hours every night.

Maybe a good time to start a thread... if you have open water post it here... I heard Bay of Quinte is open West of Bellville.

Retail is a tough gig. I work at the head office in IT Management for a large national retailer. Best thing is to be honest. If you don't fit the mold of what they want you won't last and you will be out the door faster than what you got in. They are going to be looking for a number of people with very specific character traits. Those differ depending on the company. In general don't steal, don't lie, be nice to all customers, follow policies. Some places allow for policies to be broken to make customers happy but that is something that is identified.

Over 90 million litres of raw sewage dumped...so far

I thought this was about the sens rebuilding again. -
Seems odd I know but as I said, drive it gingerly and you will see good mileage. combined 10.2 is I have the 4x4 Non HFE and I am getting at or slightly better than what they say in all conditions. This is much better than what I have seen from previous chryco vehicles. Almost all of them I used to get far worse. Up to 22 mpg (13.0 L/100 km) City and 33 mpg (8.5 L/100 km) Highway I seem to be averaging as I mentioned between 9.5 and 10.5 combined. I do the bulk in the Toronto on city streets or in traffic, I think the one thing dodge did was not to inflate the numbers like Ford did with the eco boost.
-
Being light on the gas truly makes a huge difference. 110 compared to 100 is huge in my truck even though it gets great mileage as it is.
-
Yah, I was really blown away by the gas numbers. If the eco diesle pans out wow do the other guys have ground to make up. 7.2/100 or 40mpg highway @ 420 pounds of tourque and a 9,200 lb towing capacity. It will be enough to raise the eye brows of even the most diehard ford and bowtie folk. It will be really interesting to see how that thing does.
-
I will tell you that this truck sits very high off the ground. I think they have a version that has a suspension ride height thing. Not sure if that helps you out.
-
I added a print out to keep in theme of the OFC tourney. haha
-
Sitting a shade over 10 right now. Prpbably due to me driving around scouting turkey spots this weekend in 4 low.
-
Just for kicks I will walk out to my truck right now and take a snap of the dash with the fuel economy numbers. I am pretty sure its currently around 9.8 or something like that. The new Eco Diesle is supposed to be even better. I wish I had of waited a year and got that instead.
-
This is calculated by hand as well as dash gauge averaged out. My day consists of a city drive to and from work no highway every day about 20km's round trip. Every other weekend I do make a round trip highway trip about 400km's(however the bulk of this is during rush hour across the city with rest of it on country road between 60-80kms), add in the usually tooling during the week to the gym, going out etc.. and I always fill up on my ever other weekend trip. I would say about 100 km's of my two week window are spent cruising at 100-110. The rest is far below. For gas I fill up part way into my two week trip at the same gas station. I have only rarely needed gas in between (just when I go ice fishing or towing)

Oh yah, and one last thing, those Eco Boost guys, yah I was in a friends eco boost and I snuck a peak at his gauge yah, that thing ain't so eco.
