Biggets myth in boats in the world... that a boat can go faster than theoretical top speed..... Gear ratio, RPM's and Prop pitch (RPM's * Prop Pitch) / (1056 * Gear ratio) = Theoretical Top Speed a prop is like a screw in the water a boat can't go faster then the speed the water is coming out of the screw... EG 17 pitch prop 5200 rpms 1.93 gear ratio (5200*17)/(1056*1.93) = Theoretical Top Speed 88400 / 2038.08 = 43.37 MPH Now of course this is if you were flying in space with no friction or gravity. These factors that slow you down are referred to as prop slip. Its the ratio of the theoretical max speed and the actual speed. A big heavy Cuddy will have a higher prop slip than say a tunnel hull speed boat... Typically boats should be able to get a prop slip of less than 15%, bass boats often better in the 5% range is not entirely out of the question for a really fast hull and good setup.

water speed or land speed. Its not possible to run beyond the theoretical top speed. just making conversation... If you got lots of oompf and need help getting out of the hole, did you try a vented prop or a high five prop? often times they can help big io's get out of the water without forcing you down to a smaller prop.

Going from a 21 to a 17" prop alone would help it get up on plane. If the top end hardly changed when going from a 21 to a 17" prop then you were over pitched to begin with and you weren't able to rev out. with a 17" prop, 1.93 gear ratio, and 5200 rpms, your theoretical max top speed with 0 prop slip is 43mph. What motor, rpm's and gear ratio are you running.

I tried them on my stratos a fair number of years ago and I didn't find that they help much at all. Prop, motor height, trim and weight distribution. Best to fix the issue than cover it.

I have a tourney on the sunday, might go to balsam on Saturday if the rain holds out, supposed to be a bit of rain and a cold front. Might make for tough fishing this opener.

I just took a patch cord and plugged it into my Mic input for the computer, I needed to use an adapter for it to fit the computer side. then I recorded it with audacity. converted it to an avi with Freemaker AVI Video Converter, and then uploaded it to youtube. Its fun to get playing again. -

The reality is there is no legal political means to stop Bill C38... The reality is that if the Liberals didn't force feed in the Gun registry the Con's would not have a Majority. Of course the NDP's had several chances to join with a minority govt to squash that, as well the liberals could have also voted the registry down as well, but they all were in it for there own good as well. The reality? There will be no riots, there will be no revolt, there will be no buses turned over or cars set on fire, the Govt will not be overthrown by the public, there will be no stopping this bill. Its funny how the Canucks losing in the playoffs can cause a riot but something like this just goes by with people shaking there fists in the air. So I suggest everyone just sit back and eat your TV Dinner.

Would you vote for a federal party that instituted a 25 billion dollar program to mandate boating tests done by the federal govt, where you had to apr in person at service canada to get your learners boat permit, then take an in person hands on boating test? If 50 bucks shuts the anti's mouths then so be it. I would bet the liberals would try and sneak that one in for sure. Let the official flame wars begin.

Anyone know the results of the fishing tournament
jedimaster replied to Big Cliff's topic in General Discussion
If its a slot tournie, why not just turn in the single largest fish. Why bother turning in 5 slot fish? seems weird to me. I mean everyone and there dog knows that walleye are not like bass. -
baha, the first thing I thought of was wow another leaf fan. lol Bring it to the ACC and put it in a huge tank. it can replace carleton

I got asked for a boaters card once. The same day I got a ticket for having the wrong color reflective boat numbers on my lund... installed from the dealer... Red boat. Silver backed sticker with red letters. Clearly visible and reflective too. anyway. 125 dollar fine or something like that. Went to court for that one and got off. out of anger I kept the stickers and painted the boat for the picture I brought in. Stickers have since been replaced though. Fishing licence was asked for a small handful of time, hunting license or tags, never, gun licence, never, gun reg certs, never.

Ended up driving up to concord t angling spcialties. Two tips the perfect size and some high strength hot glu for 10 bucks. Tips are on and I am a happy camper. I think I am going to pick up some epoxy to cover up the edge of the new guides, or should I use clear nail pollish?

On a bit of a side note. Whats the difference between dry and wet flies? does one sink and one float?
