Those spines hurt and they hurt for a long time, as long as a couple of days.. Last year I had a small bottle of hand sanitizer in my tackle box, One of the catsfish that I caught got me real good between two fingers. It was hurting like hell and just before leaving to go back home i washed my hands with my hand sanitizer, the pain was immediately gone!!! I always keep one of those in my tackle box now. The way I grab them is upside down so my thumb is over one spine and my fore finger is over the other one. Buit it is usually when you toss it back in that they get you.

Senkos are best worked very slowly especially if you rig them wacky style. Hooked right in the middle. I always fish them too fast. Last time I was out for smallies and fishing senkos I wasbn't getting any hits. Then my buddy had problems with his eletric motor so I put my rod down and strated giving him a hand to try to fix it. Well by the time we finished looking at the electric I had been interrupted by 3 smallies. So cast it out and let sink and wait and then wait again .

I've read on QP that at some lakes the launch are 40 to 50 and so is the wash so it cost about 100 to be able to put your boat in the water but locals can take there boats out of the lakes go somewhere for the day and then come back and because they are locals they are exempt from this.

First thing to do is to make sure that you have a clean kill shot!!! I just googled "Field dressing Big Game" And I got all the info that you would need except the name of the guy to go do it for you.. Nothing gross about it if you got a clean kill shot. It's the gut wound shots that are the nastiest ones to field dress.

For about 3 years my boat was upside down on a utility trailer with the motor in a wooden box on the trailer. I used to fish on week days or at night so I wouldn't be in peoples way. And even with that setup putting my 14footer in and out of the water by myself I was probably faster than a lot of those Bozo's. Now I have a boat trailer and I'm in and out under 4 minutes 5 if high winds.

I paid her a trip this year instead of bringing her hunting. A trip to the 1000 Islands "A week on each island".

My wife wanted to come hunting with me one year so I got her into all the courses and she bought herself a gun and then opening morning she's waiting for me at the door. So off we go and I set her up in a tree stand and tell her that I will be a couple of miles down the trail and I'll be back to get her at Lunch time. So off I go I'm about 3/4 of a mile away and I hear a couple of shots coming from where I left my wife at. So I turn around and start heading back then I hear somebody talking but I still can't make out what is being said so I quicken the pace, then I hear my wife say "Don't touch him ,it's my moose, it's my moose, Don't touch him ,it's my moose." Then I hear the reply, " Ok Mam it's your moose but's it my saddle" Last time I brought her out with me.hihihihi

I use a St.Croix 7' medium Fast action if I am fishing bottom bouncers, but I use a Compre 6' Medium Fast Action for any jigging i do.

Nice fish !!! The weight might be a tad off though. this one was 12lbs 11oz But like you said the big ones fight like crazy.

marinate walleye strips in Louisiana Hot Sauce for 2 hours. Then take 1 cup of flour and 1 cup cornmeal mix together take strips from marinade and drip dry then put in flour mixture then deep fry. Enjoy with a couple of cold ones!!!

I've used them on jigs and i've used them under floats.

Pikehunter , these are not the expensive ones. Anatz they're incredible for Panfish thru the ice also. I won't leave home without them when heading out for crappies.

Tony!!! Don't you use 3 oz weights for Crap fishing. They would've got the hint with a few of those zinging by there ears.

This same thread came up on a Fishing website from Quebec and some people posting said that it is bad in Quebec also but he mentioned that Ontarians were a lot better behaving than Quebecers were. So I can just imagine how bad it is around Montreal. Actually one guy posted that he was always wondering were those seadoo rider's and other idiots were when Duck season was open just to see if they would come as close when they saw somebody in the small boat with a shotgun in there lap. Nothing like a shot across the bow to make them think twice about it!!!!!!

I used to find some often in my old line of work, and all i did was leave a small container with Varsol in it close to the nest and within a couple of days they had vacated. I guess they can't stand the smell.
