  1. Hi Everyone My son and I just got back from our Kawartha trip . We fished Buckhorn , Pigeon and Sturgeon during the week . The weather was 80 the first couple days then in the 50's and dropped down over night Wednesday to 29 we had frost on our boat seats . Several days we had winds over 10 mph making it a little rough fishing .We boated 4 Muskies had 14 hits and 7 follows we only count hits if we see its a Muskie and most of them were near or at the boat . We had a couple follows from bigger fish but most were slow and behind the baits a ways . Only 1 caught trolling a 35" er we usually boat 5-8 during the week trolling while eating our lunch or taking a break from casting . We took a good Canadian friend out fishing with us 2 days but he didn't have any luck . The last day I got lucky and caught a 44"er put up a good fight and even jumped clear out of the water . It also cost my son some $$$ I got big fish of the week .I hope I'm able to make the trip next year I'll be 80 and its getting hard to cast those Muskie baits all day LOL . I also caught 4 Walleyes and 2 bigger LM on my Muskie lures 2 of the walleyes were 25" . Tight Lines Hank Flory Jr

  2. Caught this in a northern Ontario lake my sister lives on this past Saturday. It exceeded my PB by leaps and bounds! I’ve never seen a Small Mouth Bass this large in my life . Probably a once in a lifetime catch!

  4. Tis the season. 4 days on the tribs. So many salmon this year . Trying to find holes without them is almost Impossible. So,just fish below them 😆. We sure need some rain though . Salmon are trapped in holes and sitting there with loose eggs in them . Couple of my rewards this weekend . This morning I had a nice buck smoke a stone I tied up . A variation.

  6. I live 10 miles north of a little Kawartha town called Lakefield and have been here going on 16 years and before that we had a house trailer 5 miles from Lakefield for 36 years. There's a great little hardware store in town that everybody uses and I've been shopping there over 50 years. Walk in the door and before you go 20 feet several employees will see if you need help. Everybody is so darned friendly and helpful and it's just a plain nice place to shop. There's also 6 apartments above that house 6 families. Seems like this place was built in the mid 1800's. Sadly the place caught fire a few days back and is now so badly damaged they started tearing it down yesterday. Flames went up and totally destroyed the roof then the 2nd story started collapsing into the main store. Six families lives ruined after losing everything they owned including a few pets and a bunch of good folks now unemployed in an area with few good paying jobs. Small town folks are fantastic though and right away a few GoFundMe's were started to help these folks get through it plus there's collections of clothing and what ever may be needed. Gonna miss shopping here and talking with so may of the employees that I know. A nice place gone forever.
