misfish
That's the thing. I want it closed when stored indoors as it will be venting fumes into to the space. You will still get the smell of gas. I ran 2 tanks when I had my 25 hp merc. Both tanks were always open as I found even the heat from outside to inside, the tanks would expand bloat. Im sure the pressure still pushes the fumes out, even if closed.

Pretty sure the new tanks are designed to hold the pressure when closed so vapor doesn't escape into atmosphere or at least not be constantly venting out. Low permeation hoses and tanks are the new norm.
