Lunatic Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 this weekend i decided to go up somewhere in the haliburton area and try to fish some back lakes from shore, but would hate to be fishing a trout lake. im just looking for bass, pike, muskie lakes. can anyone point me in the right direction? some lakes i could try that have a decent shoreline thanks.
Sinker Posted September 16, 2016 Report Posted September 16, 2016 Best way is to look at a map, get in car, drive to spots and try them. I have found hundreds of lakes this way, and no, I'm not telling you where they are. Sorry. I will tell you that some of the biggest bass I have ever caught came from small lakes right on the side of the road that have no cottages or boat launches. If a little swamp looks like it might have fish, try it, you might be surprised. S.
singingdog Posted September 21, 2016 Report Posted September 21, 2016 Trout is still open, and most hike-in back lakes are going to be for stocked fish anyway, so they will be fishable until they freeze up. Otherwise, get a map, start hiking, and be respectful of private property.
