this weekend i decided to go up somewhere in the haliburton area and try to fish some back lakes from shore, but would hate to be fishing a trout lake.

im just looking for bass, pike, muskie lakes. can anyone point me in the right direction? some lakes i could try that have a decent shoreline

thanks.

Best way is to look at a map, get in car, drive to spots and try them. I have found hundreds of lakes this way, and no, I'm not telling you where they are. Sorry.

I will tell you that some of the biggest bass I have ever caught came from small lakes right on the side of the road that have no cottages or boat launches. If a little swamp looks like it might have fish, try it, you might be surprised.

Trout is still open, and most hike-in back lakes are going to be for stocked fish anyway, so they will be fishable until they freeze up. Otherwise, get a map, start hiking, and be respectful of private property.
